$3,000 is pretty pitiful if they don’t have any other job other than fighting.

This is usually why they have another job
I mean, they get some sponsor money too but not enough to pay the difference, especially if they have a family.
Legit UFC-level talent at least just shouldn’t be in this sort of situation. Derek Brunson, Bobby Green, and Quinn Mulhern area all lower-tier UFC-level and none of them make the unofficial UFC minimum wage (which is 6 + 6). And Ronda Rousey is clearly worth a hell of a lot more than 4 + 4, she is by far the biggest draw on this card (I would consider Julia Budd to be a bit underpaid here too).
These are highly talented and professional fighters earning a pittance.
MMA needs to step up its game.
no-name boxers that make it on t.v. make alot more than this. hell, boxers make more than this just to pad a prospect's record.

That chick got paid 3,500 to have her arm snapped in half? That is ridiculous
Even if she had another job, she couldn’t even go to work now with a fucked up arm..
How the hell do these people eat? This is poverty
sigs are gay
Pffft..
They fight 4-5 times a year and everyone on the card makes more than minor-league baseball players do. These fighters know what they are getting themselves into. They pay their dues on the small shows and if they are good enough, they get blue-chip sponsors and earn a shot on the big stage. If they aren’t good enough, they have to work a real job like you and I. And for the record, similar level boxers make pretty much the exact same thing.
