Josh Koscheck signs the bout agreement to fight Carlos Condit at UFC 143 on Feb. 4, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. What's your best guess for who wins this welterweight clash, Maniacs? Will "Kos" thwart Condit in his quest to regain a title shot? Or is "The Natural Born Killer" destined to fight for the gold?

Condit by KO

Actually

Or sub. I have thought of KOS to be the number 2 170 pounder for a while now, that is until Condit and Diaz have been on a tear. Not sure who I think is the number 2 now, but I can see Condit beating KOS. Doubt KOS would stand with Carlos for any length of time, unfortunately, but Condit is very crafty so I see him winning this especially if it’s a 5 round fight.

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! But now Tito is closing in! lol Maybe not, but I'm so fn happy that he beat Bader! The excuses were really getting to me, but when he wins, we don't hear about them.

Its between Diaz and Condit for that number 2 spot sor sure.

However if it came down to a fight between them i’d pick diaz. Condit would be too proud to just shoot in and smother him (not that he does that anyway), and diaz would pick him apart piece by piece on the feet. I cant see condit subbing him, and i cant see condit outstriking him either. The only way to beat Diaz now is a smothering wrestler, and even then they are in constant danger of being subbed. He’s a monster right now.

Condit might be the Natural Born Killer

But there’s no way he can stop Kos’ takedowns. I will not be surprised if Koscheck submits NBK on this one.

The "Prodigy" BJ Penn will be in the Philippines on November 30, 2011 at the Music Hall of the SM Mall of Asia. That will be good except if the mall administration decides to charge $5 to anyone who wants to see BJ. (just like what they did when GSP came).

There is no way I am going to pay $5 to see a pudgy, out-of-shape, retired waste of talent who is 1-3-1 in his past 5 fights.

Professional sig bet record: 5-7-1

No way (imo) KOS can sub Condit.

I agree with him not stopping the takedowns, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Condit kneed him or got the sub off of his back. Looking forward to this, if it happens. Hope condit wins bc I’m pretty sure most of us would like to see GSP/Condit over GSP/KOS III. If GSP and KOS do ever fight again I would think that KOS would use his wrestling more. I think that his wrestling is better than GSP’s and that’s the only way he would win.

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! But now Tito is closing in! lol Maybe not, but I'm so fn happy that he beat Bader! The excuses were really getting to me, but when he wins, we don't hear about them.

I hate to say it bro, but there is a great chance that Koscheck wins by decision, and a good chance by submission

am a huge fan of Condit since his WEC days, Condit is an excellent striker and submission artist. However, in this fight, IMO, his only chance is to work off his back and try to submitt Josh, where Josh is a monster in the ground, so I would be suprised and exctremely happy if he pulled it off. Josh is very good at controlling the base of the fight, and strikers have little chance countering with his way of wrestling, the only three who sucesseded as far as I remember are GSP, drew frikets or something and Paulo. Daley and Johnson are good example of how nasty Kos wrestling is.

To conclude, 70% dec w Kos, 10% dec w CC, 15% Kos w sub, 5% CC w sub) in my opinion

an absolute pointless match up

if cc loses he loses his title shot and koscheck becomes a certified contender keeper whats the point.

I have never been a proponent of fighters leaving a weight class because of losing but in koschecks case thats the only option that makes sense for him. If he really wanted to show some courage be a man and move up to mw hes a pretty big ww as it is. he got beat like a red headed step child by st pire twice so beating CC dose nothing for him

and if CC loses it srews over potentially a great future title fight because its guys like CC and ND that put buts in seats and then out of seats during the fight.

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:17 AM EST reply actions

If everyone who got throttled by GSP went up a weight class, welterweight would be nothing but prospects.

by TheMuscleShark on Nov 21, 2011 2:21 AM EST up reply actions

who else has faught stpire twice

he needs to go, just like rich vacated MW it wasnt to successful but he had the balls to go for it

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:24 AM EST up reply actions

Actually Rich didnt want to leave MW and the only reason he did so is because the UFC told him no matter how many fights he won he wasnt going to get another crack at Silva and so it was either try LHW or be stuck in MW purgatory.

by bigdmmafan on Nov 21, 2011 2:29 AM EST up reply actions

i can garuntee you

the ufc will not make koscheck / st pire III. so looks like josh doesnt mind being stuck in ww purgatory.

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:33 AM EST up reply actions

Money also probably plays a huge issue.

Most of these guys are on _ to show __ to win. So if Koscheck doesnt think he can win at MW it’s probably smarter to keep getting wins at WW and keep getting the most money and hope GSP loses.

The other train of thought is GSP also has talked about moving up to 185 as well, so even if Koscheck moves up and has success what happens if GSP moves up then he is back in purgatory anyway.

I wonder who will be the last mohican from tuff 1

If I had to choose who I think is going to be the last fighter from season 1 to still be relevant and successfull in the UFC before falling off the map himself shortly thereafter I would have to say ………Leben

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:52 AM EST up reply actions

Sanchez, he’s the youngest, and the UFC likes him alot.

by bigdmmafan on Nov 21, 2011 2:59 AM EST up reply actions

im now in agreement, and I bet he has made the most $$$ aside from griffin

I wonder if there are some guys who when matched up with an opponent like (Lytle, Sanchez) are happy knowing theres a very very good possibilty Im ganna get paid tonight win or lose

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 3:05 AM EST up reply actions

KOS would do well at 185 due to his great wrestling, but he's a bit short with short reach.

His body frame def belongs at 170. And look at guys like Silva, Sonnen, Franklin (I know he’s at 205 now but you get the point) their ssooo much bigger than him. I would like to see him fight Sonnen though, obvious reason.

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! But now Tito is closing in! lol Maybe not, but I'm so fn happy that he beat Bader! The excuses were really getting to me, but when he wins, we don't hear about them.

I'll take koscheck , just cause he doesn't give a fuck

Should be a war but I feel nbk’s momentum is ’ too good to be true’ so to speak .

sanchez is coming off a big win and yet another fotn

I believe sanchez could beat josh and prove to be the better man. I would like to see it happen

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:39 AM EST up reply actions

its strange

I could not stand sanchez for few years and after he controlled diaz for the win in 06 i disliked him even more. and when koscheck – sanchez two happend I was happy to see diego defeated.

Now I cant stand koscheck and have become a big fan of diego because of the way he fights he has more heart in his fingernail than koscheck has in his whole body. I guess it come down to a question. If you had to pick between watching a diego sanchez fight or a koscheck fight which would you choose……..dont even have to think twice

by dia mette on Nov 21, 2011 2:48 AM EST up reply actions

If by heart you mean mental illness then yea

After seeing kampmann get robbed I could really go without seeing Diego fight again .
He’s wild sure but the dude isn’t all together upstairs and that’s why he’s in ‘great’ brawls etc , as far as his actual talent and athleticism I’m not in the slightest bit a fan but to each his own .
I’d much rather see koscheck fight seeing as he will fight anyone and isn’t a natural 155er

lol Good post dia!

I know what you mean! I have always like Diaz for reasons you mentioned and disliked KOS, again for reasons you mentioned. What I do like and respect about KOS is that he is always willing and ready to fight ANYONE at ANYTIME! Fighters should keep themselves in fighting shape and be willing to fight whenever that phone rings. Just my opinion bc that’s how I would be.
Kinda like how people get into shape bc Summer is coming, why not just stay in shape all year round??? I know, not the same, but kinda. lol

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! But now Tito is closing in! lol Maybe not, but I'm so fn happy that he beat Bader! The excuses were really getting to me, but when he wins, we don't hear about them.

Condit gets taken down pretty much at will in all his fights against decent wrestlers

Not sure he can tag kos with a knee like he did stun-gun. Kos is in a whole other world in terms of wrestling and Kos won’t make the mistake of trying to stand with Condit.

Huge reprecussions if Condit loses. A lot at stake.
