Starting with his days playing a crazy man on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10, expectations for Matt Mitrione's UFC career have been extremely low. That could be why he's been so underestimated throughout his brief career. He's counting on the same at UFC 137 on Oct. 29 against Cheick Kongo:
"I am most definitely willing to stand and bang with Cheick. Everybody says they're not concerned about how quick my hands are, my athleticism or how fast I close distance, until I start to dot on them. And then they start to taste the iron and then their game plan changes. I will beat Cheick. How I'm going to beat him, I don't know. Whatever way it is, I win. That's what's going to happen."
"Meathead" may not be a future heavyweight champion but he's grown into a highly dangerous and competitive mixed martial artist. Will that be enough to down the "French Sensation" in Las Vegas?
