UFC 136 Results: Chael Sonnen does not wish anything bad in life for Anderson Silva

Stay connected for news and updates

Chael Sonnen does not like Anderson Silva, but he still wants "The Spider" to have a great life.

Huh?

The trash-talking middleweight, who dominated fellow contender Brian Stann at UFC 136 last Saturday night (Oct. 8) in Houston, Texas, called out the Brazilian straphanger because he wants to beat him.

Nothing more, nothing less. Or so he tells Dan Mathews at CBS Houston:

"You know sometimes as athletes we get so close to the trees we can't see the forest. You get so wrapped up in it you forget, no, wait a minute, this is a sport. We're gonna compete and we're gonna shake hands. I do not like Anderson Silva. But I do not wish anything bad in life for him. I want to beat him, I want to do everything I can to him in the ring but I hope he has a great life. I don't have something against him on a level like that."

Hear more from Sonnen on his win over Stann and his planned rematch against Silva, after the jump.

Anyone buying Sonnen's "nothing personal, just business" shtick?
