UFC 126 video: Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin are going to pound on each other on Feb. 5
And although Franklin would love a quick ten second knockout, he doesn't think that's how this one is going to play out. Do you agree?

Forrest is getting lamped and Rich will most likely break his hand in the process.
Despite Forrest’ chin being softer than butter.
BIG NOG for Life
One Step closer to Gleison Tibau @ 145
If the round is too close, it's 10-10, NOT flip a coin 10-9 or late takedown FTW.

Sounds like a comfortable fight for the both of them.
Business as usual.
"Before I do anything I ask myself, "Would an idiot do that?" And if the answer is yes, I do not do that thing." - Dwight Schrute
I honestly think this could be an early candidate for...
fight of the year. Both of these guys are always working, love to stand and bang, have great cardio and are wanting to make it back to the top so they’re motivated.
Coker feels the rankings are unjustified because Werdum beat Fedor so he thinks he should be #1. What he doesn't realize is that Fedor was only considered #1 for the fact that there was no clear cut stand out in the UFC's HW division at that time and with Fedor ducking top competition the rankings still must be set. Someone had to be placed in that #1 spot so because of this and of his longevity he stayed there from his Pride days. The guy had not proved he was still the #1 HW since those days when he's not facing top 5 guys unlike other #1 ranked fighters in their divisions who clean them out.
I agree. However Stand n Bang doesnt do Rich justice. He has very good technical striking. He has crisp straight punches. Forrest also has very good boxing. I think they will trade with each other and be an early FOTY candidate but I think we will actually see a little ground game as well

Franklin split dec.
i could be mistaken but franklin doesnt come off as the quickest striker around but i think he has the edge on speed in thist one…
Fortune Favors the Bold
The 205 lb. division is lucky BABALU has a glass chin !!!
and power...Franklin via UD, SD or flash KO are all possible.
Forrest can only do damage with those legs kicks.

Griffin by Split decision Franklin wins the 1st debatable 2nd round back and forth action and then Griffin eaks out a win with a couple of lazy takedowns! Get your money on it ive seen it in a dream!
boards dont hit back....
1st round?
So what you are debating yourself about what you saw in your own dream??

Im giving you an insight into how the fight will play out! get your dollars on it and bet big you heard it hear first
boards dont hit back....
I just found it funny that you said you question the scoring results inside your own head. I do think that it is very plausible for it to play out that way.

\I meant the 2nd round would be close with scoring by the judges going either way
boards dont hit back....
Rich is very quick. Quick and crisp.

You described yourself, Rich
Forrest doesn’t have KO power. Rich by TKO 2nd round.
Man-Pounding.
Someone is gonna end up curled in a little ball after an EXPLOSIVE finish.

im taking griffin for 2 reasons
1) chest hair 2) his lacksadaisical approach to training.
and god said to abraham "you must get melvin manhoef to deal with these bitches"
Explain 2?

he writes books about the apocalypse instead of training
the guy has had more book tours in the past years than fights. griffin seems to just not give a fuck anymore, but i still think he beats rich. which i hope sets up a forrest rampage rematch. two fighters who seemingly do not care.

Rich takes this one easy
Griffin is garbage, half of the division could bitch-slap him back to wherever he came from.
Great fights > Great fighters
Kicking people in the head = love
No one has been Griffin easy.
Except Silva. So I disagree with the whole half the division comment.
What the hell is an "Ish"?
Jardine too and both times he ran out crying hopefully we dont see that again
I’m taking Rich tko round 2

Jardine was pretty much getting worked in that fight.
After the memorable brawl with Bonnar, I think Forrest thought he couldn’t be KO’d. He got hit and thought he should just swing through it rather than cover up. Tactical error doesn’t mean the dean is in any way a better fighter.

Haha. Tell that to Rampage Jackson

Yeah, well I guess
it would include the half that dosen’t have Shogun or Rampage or Bonner in it, to name a few
Both arent relevant in the division
And this is one purely for the paychecks. But that doesnt because its going to be one hell of a fight. Rooting for Franklin because forrest is one weird SOB
Edson Barboza and Charles Oliveira are gonna stir up the pot at 155!

Franklin is still very relevent. And Forrest is a win away from being back to relevent.

ANS, question for you:
How much goes into warming up your jaw before a fight and the fact that it does in fact warm up? We see it with alot of fighters where they get starched early in the first, and since this thread is regarding Forrest, he has been ko’d early yet we’ve seen him in brawls and take alot of punishment too. His bad losses came against Jardine in the first and Andy in the first when he tried to walk thru shots, and rampage rocked him early but didn’t seem to hurt him in 20+ more minutes.
by Mayhem chimpanzee on Jan 6, 2011 11:05 AM EST up reply actions
What do you mean by warming up your jaw? And I will answer you from there

Walking softly?
No homo. I just meant sometimes you see guys punching themselves in the jaw or having their cornermen giving them some padded shots and just like the otehr muscles that work more efficiently warmed up, they have jaws and necks more prepared for some of the shock that is about to occur. Being from your big camp, there may be some knowledge to this or at minimum some philosophy about it.
by Mayhem chimpanzee on Jan 6, 2011 11:36 AM EST up reply actions
Thats actually not warming them up. Thats more of a hype or adrenaline type of thing. It doesnt actually make immune any more or less to a punch. Maybe scientifically I am wrong but to be honest bud when you are being punched in the face in a fight it is 1000% different then being punched in pre fight warm ups and training.
Honestly, its really either you can take a punch or you cant. So, you can only train so much in that department because you cant really train pain tolerance. Being KO’d is about being punched with power sure, but also momentum, the angle and the placement.

franklin. if you turtle up and cry and then run form the octagon after you lose you will surely do it again.
franklin. “benjamin$” franklin.
On february 5th 2011 at UFC 126 Jon "Bones" Jones will show the world that their was no need for the MMA community to hype this man because this guy is a beast with many skills and i personally will feel Ryan "Darth" Bader's pain after this fight. SB Nation's public enemy #1.

wait till theyre both in the cage...
Dim the lights and play andersons entrance music for a few seconds. I’d be willing to bet the ref would be the only one left in there when the lights come back on.
