UFC on Versus 3: Matt Brown vs Mark Scanlon on tap for March 3 in Louisville

"The Immortal" gets what could be his final chance with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Welterweight combatants Matt Brown and Mark Scanlon will collide for the upcoming UFC on Versus 3 event on March 3 in Louisville, Ky. brought word of the pending match-up earlier today (Jan. 3).

After going on a three fight-winning streak, defeating Ryan Thomas, Pete Sell and James Wilks in 2009, Brown's worst nightmare came true. He looked mortal in 2010, dropping three straight bouts to Ricardo Almeida, Chris Lytle and Brian Foster.

Will Brown be sent packing after his bout with "Scanno?"

After going 7-0 for smaller promotions, Scanlon made his UFC debut on Nov. 13, 2010. The Scan-man came up short in his bout with Pascal Krauss, losing via unanimous decision.

He'll look to kick off 2011 with a win over Brown.

A welterweight showdown between Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann is on tap for UFC on Versus 3. Middleweights Mark Munoz and C.B. Dollaway will do battle to move ahead the 185-pound rankings. A 170-pound barn-burner between Dan Hardy and Anthony Johnson is also possible for the event.
