The official weigh-in event for Strikeforce: "Diaz vs. Cyborg" took place earlier today (Friday, Jan. 28, 2011) from the HP Pavilion Concourse in San Jose, California.
Each of the eight fighters set to compete on the Showtime portion of the card hit their respective weights without incident. However, Nate Coy and Jenna Castillo came in slightly heavy for their undercard bouts. They have both been given some additional time to shed the excess baggage. Coy was a quarter pound over for his welterweight battle against Nate Moore, while Castillo needs to lose a half pound to make the 121 pound limit for her fight with Charlene Gellner.
Leading the charge back to San Jose will be welterweight champion Nick Diaz, as he puts his 170-pound title on the line against surging Brazilian banger Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos in the night's featured main event.
Also throwing hands in "Shark City" is 185-pound champion Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza as he defends the middleweight strap against hard-hitting contender "Ruthless" Robbie Lawler. Former Heisman trophy winner Herschel Walker and decorated Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner Roger Gracie will be in action as well in separate matches.
