UFC 128 results and LIVE fight coverage for 'Shogun vs Jones' on March 19 in Newark

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to pull the trigger on its latest pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza TONIGHT (Sat., March 19, 2011) from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

UFC 128 will be headlined by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, defending his 205-pound world title against division number one contender Jon "Bones" Jones in the main event of the evening.

Electrifying bantamweights, and former WEC champions, Urijah Faber and Eddie Wineland, are set to hook 'em up in the co-featured fight of the night.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of UFC 128, beginning with the PPV telecast at 10 p.m. ET. Up-to-the-minute quick results of all the other under card action will begin to flow around 7:30 p.m. ET.

Rua looking for an arm, but nothing there. Jones now has a hold of Rua's neck. Full guard now for Rua. Elbow from Jones. Short elbow from Jones. Rua looking for a leg lock. Another elbow from Jones. Hard elbow to the body from Jones. Another body elbow from Jones. Rua with a high guard. Left from Jones. Hard kick to the face and left punch from Jone when Rua stands up. Shogun is hurt. Side kick from Jones. Side kick to the thigh. Nice knee form the clinch from Jones. HARD knees to the body from Jones. Right from Jones side kick to the knee from Jones. Rua is wobbly. Inside leg kick from Jones. Shogun looks way too slow to stand with Jones. Knee to the body from the clinch by Jones. Shogun with a knee to the stomach. Right from Jones. Hard left to the body from Jones. HARD left from Jones wobbles Rua. Another hard left from Jones and then a body shot. Shogun throws a kick that is cause and Jones throws him to the mat and lands a big punch on the way down. Full guard for Shogun. Elbow from Jones. Another hard elbow from Jones. Elbow to the stomach from Jones. Jones is just smothering Shogun, Shogun looks gassed already. Short elbow again from Jones. Punches and short elbows from bones Jones. Jones spins over for a leg lock and a spinning hammer fist, but the bell rings. WOW, This kid is amazing. Another round for Jones. 10-9 Jones.

Round three: Front kick from Jones. Left from Jones lands. Straight left from Jones lands again. Jones misses a head kick and Shogun has the back and drops for a leg lock. Jones ends up on top now again in half guard. Elbow from Bones Jones. Hard punches and elbows from Jones. Great flurry of punches from Jones, and another big flurry and Rua is just covering up there is nothing he can do. VICIOUS left from Jones and now another HUGE elbow. Now Jones is landing some vicious elbows and Rua is hurt!!! Knee ot the body from Jones and Jones lets Rua stand and Jones pounces on him with a SICK body shot  HUGE knee and Shogun just collapses on the mat and thats it!!! Jon Jones is the new champ!! Utter domination, this kid might be the best fighter ive ever seen in the cage. This kid is INSANE!

Round one: Faber ties things up right away. Faber tries to throw Wineland but cannot finish it. Wineland pushes Faber against the cage. Knee from Faber. Faber goes for a throw again but nothing there. Wineland lands a hard right when Faber drops down for the legs. Faber shoots and gets a take down briefly but Wineland pops right back up. Wineland pushes Faber against the cage. Faber keeps going for the throws but Wineland is showing amazing defense. Wineland looking for a trip take down. Wineland now has the back and gets a big slam. Faber right back up and Wineland lands a right. Left from Faber. Jab from Wineland and good hard counter right from Faber. Good left from Faber. Left hook from Faber. Faber grabs a single and Wineland again stops the take down. Faber again goes for a throw and Wineland stops it again. HARD counter right from Wineland. Hard right from Faber. Another hard right from Faber. Jab from Wineland. Inside leg kick from Wineland. That is the bell and Wineland was impressive. Close round, but Wineland gets the nod. 10-9 Wineland.

Round two: Faber was landing hard late in the round well see if he continues to. High kick from Faber misses. Wineland missing everything he throws thus far. Good right from Faber. Leg kick from Wineland. Faber sucks up a single and kicks out the other leg from Wineland and gets the take down. Full guard for Wineland, but Faber already throwing hard elbows. Wineland looks to scramble but Faber just drags him down instantly. HARD elbows from Faber. More elbows from Faber. Good left from Faber. Hard slam followed by a hard elbow from Faber. Round three: Wineland cannot seem to find his distance on the feet. Right from Faber. Body shot from Faber. Faber shoots for a single and Wineland stuffs it. Faber goes for a throw nothing there. Good flurry from Wineland. Inside leg kick from Wineland. Wineland stuffs another take down attempt. Faber walks him into the cage. Wineland now puts Faber against the cage. Faber scrambles away. Nice sharp right and another right from Faber. Now double jab and right left combo from Faber. Left from Faber. Faber shoots and is stuffed again. But now Faber drops under and gets a double leg take down! Pickup slam from Faber again. Hard elbow from Faber. Faber working in punches and elbows to close out this round. Flying knee from Miller caught and he is tripped down but he bounces right back up. Good hard leg kick from Shalorus. Inside leg kick from Miller. Hard left and knee from Miller. HARD head kick from Miller. Body shot from Shalorus. Nice body kick from Miller and he drops down for a guillotine but looses it and Shalorus is on top now. Full guard for Miller. That is the bell, Miller got the best of it on the feet but a late take down by Shalorus could muddy the waters. Close round. 10-9 Miller.

Miller drops down for a single and instantly transitions to the back and has a full body triangle. Miller looking for a rear naked now. Lots of hand fighting going on now. Miller looking to lock in the choke. Shalorus getting warned about holding onto the gloves. Punches from behind for Miller. Shalorus will survive this dangerous spot. Round three: Body shot from Shalorus. Nice uppercut left combo from Miller. Nice left from Miller. Nice double knees from Miller. Left hook from Miller lands hard. Leg kick from Shalorus. Miller stuffs a take down and lands a knee. Nice left from Miller. Hard leg kick from Miller, and left from Miller. Jab from Miller. HARD uppercut from Miller and now he lands a VICIOUS knee and drops Shalorus!! Miller pounces and is landing some HARD punches and that is it the ref stops it!!! Jim Miller with a impressive KO win.

Brendan Schaub vs. Mirko Filipovic (265-pound limit)

Round one: Mirko moving forward. High kick from Schaub blocked by Cro Cop. Nice uppercuts from Schaub in the clinch. Nice right from Cro Cop. Their tied up and knee to the stomach from Mirko. Schaub in the dominant position against the cage. Cro Cop switches position, Schaub gets warned for hitting in the back of the head. They start at the center. Schaub ducks under a left and gets a football tackle take down. Mirko with full guard. Hard up kick from Cro Cop lands. Schaub standing looking to get back on top. Schaub dives back in and is landing some body shots. Mirko with full guard again. Nice big rights from Schaub. Cro Cop just holding on for dear life he is not doing anything else but trying to stall. Mirko now gets a switch and stands back up. Cro Cop puts Schaub against the cage now. Schaub looks for a running trip take down but Mirko fends it off. Good body shot from Schaub. Nice elbow from Mirko to end the round. Schaub won that round. 10-9 Schaub.

Round two: Head kick from Cro Cop. Schaub with the take down. Schaub with big rights. Up kick from Mirko lands HARD. But Cro Cop gets a warning cause Schaub was down. Good left from Mirko. Both men trading knees from the clinch, Schaub in the dominant position. Knees from the clinch from Schaub. Uppercut from Mirko. Nice elbow from Mirko. Schaub bleeding badly. Hard elbow from Cro Cop. Knee to the gut from Schaub. Schaub just lost a point for punching to the back of the head. Head kick from Mirko! Schaub ties up Cro Cop but it looks like he has a broken nose. Nice right from Schaub. Nice uppercut and over the top elbow from Mirko to end the round. That was a very close round and Mirko did some legit damage. Id lean toward Mirko. 10-8 Cro Cop.

Round three: Inside leg kick from Mirko might have landed low. Nice one two from Mirko. Schaub ducks under and gets another tackle take down. Full guard for Mirko. Nice right from Schaub and Cro Cop kicks him off, but Schaub runs forward and brings Mirko right back down to the mat. Schaub jumps into half guard now. Cro Cop back to his feet and both men trade bombs. Head kick from Cro Cop. Cro Cop stuffs a take down. Schaub lands a MASSIVE right that drops Cro Cop!!!! One more BOMB for good measure and Cro Cop is out cold. WOW.

Dan Miller vs. Nate Marquardt (185-pound limit)

Round one: Jab from Miller. Uppercut from Miller while avoiding a take down. Now Miller goes for a single. Marquardt sprawls out. Marquardt looking for a choke. Miller to his feet and both men trade knees to the gut. Miller again going for a single. Marquardt with amazing balance. Miller relentless and is taken down by the Jersey native. Marquardt walks up the cage and Miller jumps up and locks in a guillotine!!! Marquardt slips out and is now on top in Millers full guard. Body shots from Marquardt. Nice elbow from Nate. High guard for Miller he is looking for some offense from his back. Elbows from the bottom from Miller. Nice short elbows from the back by Miller. Ref stands them up. Hard uppercut from Marquardt and now he gets a big double leg take down slam. Miller looking for a kimura and that is the bell. Close round, Miller is extremely active off his back and Marquardt couldnt do much damage but ill still lean slightly towards Nate. 10-9 Marquardt.

Round two: Nice one two from Marquardt. Head kick from Marquardt. Leg kick from Marquardt. Nice one two from Miller. Good double right and head kick from Marquardt, flying knee from Marquardt. Miller catches the leg though and gets a take down. Marquardt walks back up to his feet. Hard right from Marquardt. Counter right from Miller. Jab from Miller. Hard right from Marquardt. Jab from Marquardt. Hard right from Marquardt. Another snapping right from Marquardt and now he gets a take down and is into side control. Miller now rotates out and has a guillotine in tight!!! Marquardt slips out again, wow. Nice elbow from Marquardt. More elbows from Marquardt. That is the bell and that round was all Nate the Great. 10-9 Marquardt.

Round three: Nice right from Marquardt and counter right from Miller. Head kick from Nate. Lead right from Marquardt. Nice uppercut from Miller. Jab from Miller. Leg kick from Nate. Nice right from Marquardt and counter uppercut from Miller. Hard right from Marquardt. Another right from Nate. Miller with a take down attempt but Marquardt sprawls out., Marquardt spins around and is on top now in full guard. Miller is game but he seems to have lost this fight. Elbows from Marquardt. Another hard elbow from Nate. Miller bleeding from his left eye. Miller looks gassed out. Miller now going for a kimura. Nothing there. Nice elbows from Marquardt. Nice lefts from Marquardt and he seems like he will ride out this round on top. Miller going for a triangle but Nate lands a hard right and shrugs him off. Marquardt will win this one easy. Nice right from Njokuani. Njokuani is putting in on right now. Both men land front kicks. Jab from Barboza. Nice uppercut from Njokuani and now he pushes Barboza against the cage. They break. Jab to the body from Njokuani. Barboza ducks under and gets a double leg take down! Njokuani walking up the cage. Barboza drags him away though. Not enough time left to do anything. Nice high kick from Njokuani. Jab from Njokuani. Barboza needs to be the 1st man to throw. Nice right from Barboza. Nice uppercut right hook from Njokuani. Inside leg kick from Njokuani. Kurt Pellegrino vs. Gleison Tibau (155-pound limit)

Round one: Both guys come out pawing and moving around a lot. Almost a minute in before anything meaningful comes and it's Tibau getting aggressive. Looks like he lands a big left and works a single leg off it. Pellegrino stays upright though. Pummel against the cage and no one gets the advantage. Kurt's coming in strong but he looks tentative. Trying to avoid those hammers Gleison calls hands. The fans are getting restless as there isn't much action. Kurt grabs a single leg and Tibau hops around to avoid the takedown and succeeds in staying on his feet and pushes Kurt against the cage. Just like that, he takes Pellegrino down but they get right back up and reset. Straight right by Kurt sets up another takedown attempt but he gets stuffed again. Close round but I'll go with the big guy. 10-9 Tibau

Round two: Out quickly for the second frame and once again it's Tibau looking to land a big shot. Very little action in the first minute. Neither fighter looks like he wants to engage. A flurry from Kurt lands nothing. Oh, another flurry from Pellegrino and he rocks Tibau. He uses it to get a takedown and he's landing some vicious shots on top. This is now a real fight, as opposed to the battle of the arm tattoos. Gleison wins that, by the way. Kurt is still on top, controlling in half guard, landing short elbows and punches to the body. Tibau gets back to full guard but he's getting worked in this round. He finally manages to get back to his feet with about 30 seconds left in the round. Round ends and Pellegrino raises his hands. He knows he took that one. 10-9 Pellegrino

Round three: Tibau shoots in but gets stuffed to open the third. Head kick gets blocked. Pellegrino is loading up the right hand like he's Dan Henderson. He's entirely too tentative so far with the fight so close. Tibau lands a left hand. They exchange and no one connects. Tibau sets up another takedown with a few punches but Pellegrino is still seeing them from a mile away. He's stuffing them too. Tibau is being the aggressor here though. Two minutes left and it's anyone's round at this point. Pellegrino looks for a takedown of his own and gets stuffed, eating a few knuckles for his trouble. Tibau then gets the takedown and immediately passes to side control. Takes his back but Kurt wall walks back to his feet. That was big for Tibau. Might have won him the round. Pellegrino shoots in but the cage stops him from getting the takedown. He's holding onto a single leg but Tibau is staying on his feet. They reset and Tibau earns himself another takedown and that's a wrap. That had to win him this round and in turn, the fight. He's working on top, landing plenty of shots to close it out. Pellegrino rolls for a last second kneebar but it's too little too late. 10-9 Tibau

Final result: Gleison Tibau def. Kurt Pellegrino via split decision

Ricardo Almeida vs. Mike Pyle (170-pound limit)

Round one: Almeida opens with a leg kick. And another. A lot of going back and forth with no one getting the better. Had some technical difficulties but am back now with Pyle pushing Ricardo up against the cage. Reversal and Almeida lands a few knees before they push off. Takedown from Almeida leads to a scramble up and Mike grabs a guillotine but gets out. Ricardo lands a few and they're back against the cage. They exchange and Pyle lands a knee after the ref calls ten seconds and I have no clue how to score that due to my technical issues. Uh, Pyle 10-9.

Round two: Side kick from Almeida looked good but did not damage. Swing from Pyle leads to a takedown from Ricardo but Pyle is busy and scoots his way to the cage to walk his way back up. Pummeling against the cage now. Pyle's corner repeatedly shouting for him to 'come on.' Almeida goes for the takedown and Pyle threatens with a guillotine but can't snag it. A lot of back and forth but the crowd isn't happy and they're letting it be known. Almeida looking awkward on his feet. He shoots in, working  hard for the takedown and gets it off teh double leg. Pyle grabs a kimura though and he might have it. Almeida ends the round on top but it wasn't a great round for him. Still dont' have a clue how to score it but I'll say it's evened up now. 10-9 Almeida.

Round three: Pyle comes out throwing a lot of kicks. Push kicks, body kicks, leg kicks, head kicks, leg kicks -- did I say that already? Boo birds out again. Pyle lands a shot and gets back out while Almeida swings and hits air. Pyle has Ricardo backing up. Almeida is coming in and trying but he's just not landing with anything. Pyle gets a takedown and lands a nice shot coming down but backs out. Crowd really booing now. Ricardo gets up and pushes in for a single leg. Got him against the cage and Pyle is wrapped around Almeida's neck. Let's that go and the ref calls for action. Flying knee from Pyle as they break. Thirty seconds to go and Almeida gets a takedown but Pyle gets up in less than a second. The fight ends with Pyle landing a takedown but Ricardo getting right back up. Sloppy and slow, not sure who took it. 10-9 Pyle.

Final result: Mike Pyle def. Ricardo Almeida via unanimous decision
