Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to pull the trigger on its latest pay-per-view (PPV) extravaganza in the "Land Down Under" TONIGHT (Sat., Feb. 26, 2011) from the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.
UFC 127 will feature B.J. Penn taking on welterweight stalwart Jon Fitch in the main event of the evening. Michael Bisping has been tapped to silence the uprising of fellow middleweight Jorge Rivera in the co-featured fight of the night, while local favorite (and lightweight contender) George Sotiropoulos battles Dennis Siver in an important 155-pound attraction.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of UFC 127, beginning with the PPV telecast at 10 p.m. ET. Up-to-the-minute quick results of all the other under card action will begin to flow around 7:30 p.m. ET.

B.J. Penn vs. Jon Fitch
Round one: Penn goes right for the take down and pushes FItch against the cage. BJ working hard for a single. Fitch with knees to the body. Both men trade knees. Fitch with punches to the thigh. Fitch turns it around and has Penn against the cage now. Fitch now going for the take down. Fitch sucks up a single leg and is working hard for the take down. Fitch lands a good combo then drops down again for a double. Fitch trying to grind out the take down. BJ reverses position and now gets a take down!! BJ going for the back now and has the back and a body triangle. BJ now has both hooks in and is looking for a rear naked choke! Fitch spins around and is now on top. Fitch lands a couple hard elbows. BJ pushes off Fitch with his feet and is back up. Fitch jumps right back on him and pushes BJ against the cage. Combo from Fitch and then drops down for another single. Knees to the body from Fitch and an elbow to close out the round. That was an extremely close round it could go either way. Ill lean towards Fitch for dominant position but BJ could have took it with the submission attempt and take down. 10-9 Fitch.
Round two: Hard high kick from Fitch and now Fitch gets a double leg take down! BJ trying to walk up the cage. Fitch trying to pull Penn away from the cage. Penn now is up to his feet, but Fitch still holding onto a single. Short uppercut from Penn. Good right from Fitch and a knee. Good right from Fitch then he drops down for a double again. Short elbows from Penn. Fitch making Penn work. Good hard short elbow from BJ. Knee the the thigh from Fitch and good combo from Fitch as he goes for the leg. Fitch now cut above his right eye. BJ reverses position now. Fitch against the cage. It looks like Fitch's nose is bleeding bad now not his eye. Fitch with a good uppercut on the break. Penn now goes for and gets the take down! Fitch working to get up and now BJ has the back again! Penn now going for a rear naked choke again. Fitch once again spins and turns around and ends up on top. Fitch now throwing punches to the body and head. Nice elbows from Fitch. Good hard rights from Fitch. Nice left from Fitch. Fitch lands two more hard lefts. BJ gets back to his feet right at the bell. Another razor close round but ill lean towards Fitch again. It could go either way. 10-9 Fitch.
Round three: Hard right from FItch and he gets a take down right after it. This time their not close to the cage. Full guard for BJ. Fitch with hard body shots and hammer fists. BJ kicks off FItch and gets back to his feet. Fitch now has the back and is landing knees to the thighs. Fitch gets Penn to the mat now and is back on top in half guard. Big elbow from Fitch and he is landing some punches too. Hammer fists from Fitch. Nice elbows from FItch and body shots. Fitch landing good lefts and rights and he is switching from body to head. Short elbows from Fitch. Fitch smothering BJ now and he is beating him up. Fitch with relentless ground and pound he is throwing constant punches and elbows. Nice hard lefts from Fitch. Big elbow from Fitch. Another good elbow from Fitch. Fitch with some hard lefts. Now Fitch with body shots and rights to the head. Hard lefts from Fitch. BIG elbow from Fitch. Now Fitch briefly looks for an arm triangle and then goes back to his non-stop ground and pound. Fitch landing hard lefts and elbows and hammer fists. Fitch is throwing shots like crazy to finish out the round. That's the bell that last round was ALL Jon Fitch. 1st two rounds were razor close. This will be an itnersting decision but I got Fitch. 10-9 Fitch.

Round one: Bisping moving forward. Right from Rivera. Another right from Rivera and counter left from Bisping. Right from Rivera. Hard right from Rivera. Left from Bisping. Bisping shoots in and gets a double leg take down. Rivera looking to stand up and he is up. Both men trade rights. Hard right from Rivera and another right from Rivera lands. Inside leg kick from Bisping. Bisping ducks under for another double leg take down. Rivera with full guard. Hard right from the top by Bisping. OH and Bisping lands an illegal knee to a downed opponent. Rivera was clearly down he had both knee's on the mat and Bisping landed a clean hard knee to his forehead. Rivera is clearly stunned and hurt but he says he can continue. Bisping looses a point. Right from Rivera. Head kick from Rivera. Another right from Rivera. Take down attempt from Bisping stuffed. Jab from Bisping. Jab from Bisping again. Another take down attempt from Bisping and he gets it with ease. Bisping lands some hard punches. Rivera to his feet. Thats the round, and Bisping won it but also lost the point. Rivera still looks dazed. 9-9 round.
Round two: Inside leg kick from Bisping. Leg kick from Rivera and he lands a HARD right that ROCKS Bisping!! Rivera goes for the kill but Bisping holds him off with a take down attempt. Good right from Bisping. Jab from Bisping. Leg kick from Bisping. Good left right from Bisping. Nice HARD right from Bisping. Now Bisping is throwing BOMBS!!! Rivera is covering up now. Knee and body shot from Bisping. Rivera is hurt bad. Bisping just teeing off with shots and Rivera is down. Bisping throwing more shots and that is it Bisping wins by TKO.

Round one: Head kick from Siver. Inside leg kick from Siver. Siver spins away from a take down attempt. Good right from Sotiropoulos. Sotiropoulos catches a kick and walks Siver into the cage looking for a take down. Siver hops on one leg across the ring and slips out and lands a right. Good hard left hook from Siver. Sotiropoulos with a great shot but is tossed away by Siver. Hard leg kick from Siver. Siver just misses a crazy wheel kick. Siver stuns Sotiropoulos with a hard left. Good right from Siver. Left from Sotiropoulos. Siver lands a HUGE left and drops Sotiropoulos!!! Siver lets him up and Sotiropoulos is hurt bad!!! Siver lands another left and drops him again!!! Siver tries to close it out but cant and lets Sotiropoulos up again. Now Siver lands another HARD left. Sloppy take down attempt from Sotiropoulos he is on queer street. Good right from Siver. Spinning side kick from Siver. That is the bell, and Siver almost had Sotiropoulos out cold twice he is hurt BAD. Could be a 10-8 round, but ill say 10-9 Siver.
Round two: Sotiropoulos looks a little more aware now. He might have recovered. Siver throws some wild shots and misses. Hard left from Siver. Hard left right from Siver. Hard right from Siver. Inside leg kick from Siver. Front kick from Siver and then a leg kick. Sotiropoulos almost has a double and Siver tosses him off. Siver lands a HARD right. Clinch by Sotiropoulos and Siver makes him pay with a flurry of punches. Body shot from Sotiropoulos. Siver shrugs off another single leg. Hard right from Siver. Leg kick from Sotiropoulos. Leg kick and high kick from Siver. Hard right left from Siver and counter right from Sotiropoulos. Nice combo from the Aussie now. Sotiropoulos goes for a single and now both men trade blows in a flurry. Nice left from Siver. Hard left from Siver. Sotiropoulos lands a good left right combo now. Good body kick from Sotiropoulos. Left from Siver. Hard head kick to close out the round from Siver. Very close round, Sotiropoulos recovered and won that round. 10-9 Sotiropoulos.

Round one: Some goofy cartwheel kick from Ebersole. Lytle looks pissed now and unloads a hard combo. Hard right from Lytle. Right again from Lytle and now he stuffs a take down attempt from Ebersole. Hard body shot then right hook, from Lytle. Again to the body from Lytle. Good right from Lytle. Ebersole looking for the take down and Lytle has a guillotine in somewhat tight. Ebersole scrambling around trying to slip out. Lytle flips over Ebersole with the choke and now is on top in half guard still holding onto the neck. Both men jockeying for position on the ground. Now Lytle goes for the guillotine again, and Lytle backs off. Ebersole back to his feet. Now their tied up against the cage. Lytle drops down again looking for the guillotine. Lytle though back to the feet and now Lytle rolls for a knee bar. Butterfly guard for Lytle. Lytle is cut underneath the eye pretty bad. Ebersole gets up before the bell and begins to walk away. Thats the round, very close but ill lean towards Lytle. Lytle 10-9.
Round two: Good right hook leg kick from Lytle. Ebersole doing some very odd moves. Leg kick from Ebersole. Leg kick from Ebersole. Good right from Lytle. Spinning back kick from Ebersole misses. Hard uppercut from Lytle. Hard right hook uppercut combo from Lytle. Hard right and uppercut again from Lytle. Right from Lytle. Good body kick from Ebersole. Leg kick from Ebersole, and good left from Lytle. Hard left from Lytle. Body kick from Lytle. Good combo from Lytle. Hard body shot from Lytle. Ebersole with a brief take down and then lands a HUGE KNEE on Lytle. Lytle is hurt!!!! Ebersole now going for a choke it looks like a D'Arce choke. Lytle holding on for dear life. 1 minute left though. Ebersole has the back. Ebersole with hammer fists. Lytle bleeding from his eye and nose. Thai clinch from Ebersole. Big right from Ebersole. Huge slam take down from Ebersole. Full guard for Lytle. Ebersole with a hard shoulder to the head of Lytle. That is the round, huge round for the heavy underdog Ebersole. 10-9 Ebersole.
Round three: Another funky cartwheel kick from Ebersole. That thing is pointless. Lytle charges forward and lands some hard rights and a left. Ebersole holding onto a single leg. Lytle looking for a kimura. Now Ebersole is on top in Lytle's full guard. Lytle to his feet, Ebersole has the back. Lytle drops down for a guillotine. He uses it to reverse positions and is now on top in side control. Lytle almost gets a north south choke to finish it. Lytle now again looking for a guillotine but it is pointless at this point he has no gas left in the arms. Back to the feet now. Their tied up against the cage. Lytle looks gassed. Ebersole punching the thigh of Lytle. Hard elbow from Ebersole. Thai Clinch from Ebersole. Brief break to get a mouthpiece back in. Right from Lytle. Hard body shot by Lytle and a body kick from Lytle. Ebersole with a knee to the body. Ebersole gets another take down. Lytle back to his feet and then rolls over for a knee bar. Ebersole now on top. Lytle trying to scramble to his feet. Nice elbow from Ebersole. Ebersole throwing hard punches from behind to close out the round. 10-9 Ebersole.

Round one: Te Huna ties it up right away and gets a body toss take down. Te Huna on top now and right into side control with ease. Hard punches from Te Huna. Gustafsson looking to scramble. Te Huna still landing hard punches. Gustafsson gains half guard. Now Gustafsson gets full guard. Hard right from Te Huna. Te Huna is throwing bombs. Now Te Huna with hard elbow. Gustafsson scrambles to his feet and Te Huna ties him up against the cage. Gustafsson now looking for a guillotine after avoiding a take down. Gustafsson lets it go. Their still tied up against the cage. Gustafsson now with a good slam take down and he is right into side control. Te Huna gets back to his feet and Te Huna grabs a single and is looking for the take down. Te Huna drags Gustafsson down, but Gustafsson spins and takes the back. Both hooks are in!! He is going for a rear naked choke!! Te Huna though slips out!! Gustafsson though keeps at it and gets the choke in! Thats it this fight is over!

Ring trying to scramble, and gets full guard. Ring working on an arm bar attempt. Now Ring going for a triangle. Ring aborts and scrambles up to his feet. Good defense from Ring, Fukuda did nothing on the ground. Fukuda with a hard left. Left from Ring. Leg kick from Ring. Leg kick from Ring again. Good left from Fukuda. Big left and missed uppercut from Fukuda. Nice knee from Ring. Leg kick from Ring. Fukuda ducks under for a double but gets stuffed. Knee from Ring to the gut. Nice right from Ring and counter left from Fukuda. Good right from Fukuda. Double leg shot from Fukuda and he gets the take down and Fukuda probably just won the round even though Ring was the more impressive fighter. 10-9 Fukuda.

He is starting to land now. 10-9 Fukuda.
Round three: Hard one two combo from Fukuda. Good combos in the clinch from Fukuda. Fukuda with an amazing shot and double leg take down. Half guard for Ring. Ring kicks Fukuda off him and gets it back to the feet. Good hard left from Fukuda. Good dirty boxing uppercuts from Fukuda. Another quick double leg take down from Fukuda. Ring scrambling, now Fukuda drags him back to the mat. Good body shots from Fukuda. Ring looks like he is resigned to loosing this fight at this point. Fukuda on top trying for submissions and working in some ground and pound. Nice left from Fukuda. That's the bell and should be an easy decision for Fukuda. He was the better man on the feet and the ground. Great performance. 10-9 Fukuda.

Round one: Circling to start. Reinhardt comes in and eats an uppercut. Pushes forward and gets clipped and backs up. Reinhardt throwing wild. Takedown, Zhang has a guillotine and Reinhardt taps. Wow. Even with the tap, Jason passed out.

Tom Blackledge vs. Anthony Perosh
Round one: Touch of the gloves and we're underway. Straight jab from Tom. That's Blackledge, not Myers. Leg kick and Perosh looks a little slow. He rushes in and shoots but a nice sprawl from Blackledge. They get up and a high kick from Tom hits but he falls down. Back up and at 'em. Fakes a flying knee. Perosh lands a couple of shots and shoots again. Gets the takedown this time. Blackledge threatening with a guillotine. He gets out and he's postured up against the cage, raining down punches. Tom grabs an arm but Perosh gets out. In half guard and passes to mount. The crowd goes nuts. Has his back and sinks in the rear naked choke. Crowd explodes. That was beautiful mat work from Perosh.

I really cannot see how Bisping is going to murder Rivera,
but I can definitely see Rivera murdering Busping. He has never lost a descision, his 4 losses since 2004 were to Anderson Silva, Chris Leban and Terry Martin (KO/TKO) and a sub from Kampman. Bisping does not have the striking power of any of these for Rivera to worry about getting knocked out, and he he does not have the sub skills of Kampman for Rivera to really be bothered about getting subbed. He is relentless from round 1 to 3, is easily more technical and less predicatble and accurate in his striking than Henderson and Wandy. He has serious power, and is just as fast with his hands as Bisping. I just cannot imagine Bispings pitter patter punches or his wrestling being much of a threat. Bisping is not a better striker than Rivera, he is just takes less chances and is quite happy to pick at an opponent to get a points win, where as Rivera is the opposite therefore sometimes getting KTFO. In this case though, he does not have to worry about that. Should be a good one. BJ’S only chance is to knockout Fitch, and as that is next to impossible, I do not see how he can win it. Fitch will not come in with the shite gameplans of Sherk, Florian, or Sanchez, which was main causes of their losses, Fitch never has a bad gameplan, he will be too strong and will wear BJ down like everybody else. Should be a good night.

He may well have lost to top competition, but Bisping does not posses any of the threats of the fighters that have beaten Rivera.. I do not really think it is a matter of folding either. Rivera is a fighter who comes out with bad intentions in every round, he does take chances and risks and and fighting that way you are not always going to come out on top against heavy hitters, and Franklin was in his prime when he beat Rivera.Henderson and Wandy were passed their prime when they beat Bisping. Rivera striking is better than both of theirs. Bisping may well be a top contender as far as Rankings go, but his fighting style and and lack of power do not make him a danger to Rivera at all. Piicking apart a robot like Leben and picking apart Rivera are going to be two completely different things. I could be giving him more credit that he deserves, but I do not think so in this particular match up. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Fitch is awsome at what he does but I don’t think he will get BJ down as easily as many believe. BJ has great takedown defence and balance that will keep him standing the first round anyway….the second round I think BJ’s endurance will start to fade but I think he will still take the second. The third I think Fitch will take over but it will be to late.

he’s never looked too impressive to me.
but I did have him winning the fight 29-28 just like the judges. I think ring won the stand up in the first and second rounds and did not count fukuda’s takedowns in those two rounds since he did not do any damage and did not maintain any control for more than a couple of seconds. Fukuda definitely won the third round, no question.

No he didn’t. The ref should have stood them up. He didn’t throw any strikes. But when BJ took Fitch’s back for 20 seconds in the 2nd round and then got reversed, that was an amazing feat, that not only wins him the round and fight regardless of anything else in the entire fight, but will also stand up as the #1 sports highlight of the century and should earn him a million dollar bonus from dana.
