A bantamweight scrap between two 135-pound prospects in Michael McDonald and Nick Pace has been booked for UFC Fight Night 24 on March 26 in Seattle, Washington.

McDonald's manager Tom Call confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com.

After going 7-0 for independent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotions, McDonald suffered his first defeat to World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) veteran Cole Escovedo in June of 2009. He bounced back with wins over Carlos Garces and former top contender Manny Tapia before getting his revenge on "The Apache Kid" this past July.

A submission win in his WEC debut was enough to earn the California native a fight in the big show.

Now can "Mayday" make it a successful one?

Although he lost his lone fight in the WEC, Nick Pace was given a shot with the world's largest fight promotion at The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale against Will Campuzano.

So what did the New Yorker do? Came in three pounds over the bantamweight 135-pound limit.

Not exactly a good way to impress the bosses.

However, the Tiger Schulmann Fight Team product promptly dropped many a jaw to the floor when he choked out Campuzano with a modified gogoplata/guillotine/traingle/limbs all over the place choke that was dubbed the "Pace Choke."

Hence, a return fight with the promotion. Can he do it again?

UFC Fight Night 24 will feature former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz fighting to keep his job for the promotion when he meets Pride FC veteran Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. A welterweight brawl between Anthony Johnson and Dan Hardy is possible for the co-main event.
