Lyoto Machida focused on boxing and wrestling to face off Quinton Jackson
"He travels in the first week of September to USA where he is going to train in Los Angeles and San Jose with Anderson Silva, Minotauro and sparrings. This time the focus of the trainings are boxing and wrestling besides his main art, karate. The sparrings hired have the similar style of the next opponent"
Lyoto Machida is scheduled to make his Octagon return on November 20th in Detroit, United States. The Dragon’s wife Fabyola spoke with ORM and revealed part of the camp strategy of his husband who squares off former UFC light heavyweight Champion Quinton Jackson. Both fighters come off losses to Mauricio Shogun and Rashad Evans and the winner will take an important step to the top of the division. Machida has trained out of his natural environment in Belem – Brazil Northeast – what is a clear sign of changes. Are we going to see a different and improved Lyoto or this news sound like a common preparation for the fight? How can "The Spider" and Big Nog help him out since they're injured?

Lyoto is criticized for training only in the comfort of his family and gym but it seems The Dragon has changed his mind after losing the belt for Shogun. He’s very good at takedowns and I see a great advantage for him on the top position. Rampage is a dog without owner on his back.

Lyoto's gonna get
knocked out if he tries to “box” with Rampage.
I tried to fart and a lil shit came out. BOINK!
Think he will prepare himself to get punched...
He said his father taught him not to get hurt then when it happened he couldn’t deal with.

Can't help but think that would be the wrong strategy at this stage in his career
Fighting and not taking punishment is definitely the best approach. To change and train to prepare for being hit suggests a total change in style, philosophy and approach. I think the Dragon is weak when getting hit and if Page lands one of those hooks on him, he’s going out.
Machida’s previous approach to all his fights will get him the decision over Page. If he wants to engage in a boxing match he’ll lose. Page can take Machidas shots but La ‘cheeda can’t take Pages….
