Diaz is going to domiante Noons. cant wait fir this.

Shogun will have the longest championship reign in the UFC

I see at least two things in your post

that may come back to haunt you.

We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

by Deuce02 on Sep 29, 2010 1:44 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t dislike Noons, I like him actually, but I like Diaz better. I hope he wins. He should win.

Diaz has a tendency to start slow and come out better in the second round, and this is in my top 5 rematches which have to happen (I don’t know what the other four are).

There’s something about Diaz, I can’t help but like him. Same for his brother too.

by Jackanapes on Sep 29, 2010 1:48 PM EDT up reply actions

There is certainly something about Diaz

But unlike you, it makes me really dislike him!

I just don’t think he will “dominate”
and
saying Shogun will have the longest reign is a bit sketchy- with the knee surgery and all (and how he looked when not 100% against guys like Coleman and Forest).

We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

by Deuce02 on Sep 29, 2010 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Noons all day in this fight.

Nothing about the stylistic matchup has changed since their last fight. Diaz still cuts easy. He boxes better but so what Noons is still a better striker.

nothing has changed

except the weight class they are fighting in, noons will be significantly outsized

by xquisitewretch on Sep 29, 2010 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Great point!

I keep forgetting that. I would love to see Diaz rock him standing and finishing with a bone breaking arm bar! Diaz’ boxing has improved, but like NNR said, it’s still not as good as Noons. I just don’t like Noons for some reason. I have always liked Diaz so I hope he can even their score at one and one. I think the winner should go to the UFC!

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

by MBOW on Sep 29, 2010 3:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Totally agree.

Having thousands of posts on a MMA site does not make you an expert, training martial arts, wrestling or boxing makes you an expert.

by ASR on Sep 29, 2010 11:52 PM EDT up reply actions

Unfortunatly I also have Rashad and his boring ass Jackson stratagy!

If Shogun didn’t have this nagging knee thing than I would give him more of a chance, but I just can’t see how he comes in 100%. That sux bc I love Shogun! Homo or no homo, he’s the shit! LOL He is the kind of fighter that can’t have any haters. Such a stand up guy with mad skills and exciting fights….always! He is a class act inside and outside the cage!

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

by MBOW on Sep 29, 2010 3:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Although I like Diaz myself I can still understand why you or anyone else doesn’t.

Your Shogun comment was random but I agree with it nonetheless (regarding his reign). But if he’s in shape I think I’d still give him the slight edge against Rashad.

I support Joe Riggs.

That’s understandable. I like Riggs too.

It also seemed that Diaz didn't take the first fight that serious.

Bad mistake in this sport!!!! I’m really looking forward to this more and more!

I hear you with shogusn knee is gonna be tough. But hopefully this will be his last surgery and he coems bac kwhen he is truly healthy!!! Ok yo usay how he looked agaisnt guys liek Coleman NAd Forrest. Why dont you see how he looked with guys like Chuck, and Machida twice!!!

Evans has no chance, Ramapge has no chance, bader mos definitly has no chance and a rematch it forrest woudl be murder by shogun. Jon Jones is probably the only guy that will maybe give Shogun some trouble in about a year or 2.

Shogun will have the longest championship reign in the UFC

Nog/Mir
Nick/KJ
Fedor/Werdum

by BNF on Sep 29, 2010 1:57 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, they’re all good ones. Although BJ/Hughes doesn’t excite me as much as it should. Maybe because I don’t want to see either one of them lose. Maybe not.

by Jackanapes on Sep 29, 2010 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions

with you on that one,

I never saw the first fight and I haven’t seen Diaz fight since he was in the UFC, so I’m kinda ehh on this one. I’m sure it’s gonna be a great fight but I have no emotional investment.

Man

you should really check out the Gomi/Shamrock/Noons/Smith and Zaromski fights. All very, very entertaining. And IMO those are the best guys at that weight outside the UFC.

We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

by Deuce02 on Sep 29, 2010 2:06 PM EDT up reply actions

I dono man

I have a hard time believe that considering he won the Dream GP. He had quality opponents and he was KO fools with that high kick. Plus, Marius takes a lot of chances, he was trying to put Santos out with one punch, and just opened himself up.

We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

by Jackanapes on Sep 29, 2010 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions

I thought the fight should have been stopped after the first "KO" punch

and ruled a No Contest since it happened after the bell. Gurgel was clearly out of it at that point.

by freenow82 on Sep 29, 2010 2:43 PM EDT up reply actions

He had to be carried to his corner and yes the fight should have been stopped then

I remember it being more obvious in the Machida fight. But that doesn’t change the fact that the fight ended by an illegal strike.

Drink to remember, drink to forget.

by doonerthesooner on Sep 29, 2010 2:54 PM EDT up reply actions

Incorrect. Silva was unconscious before the bell = KO.

Even if KJ started to throw the punch before the bell, it landed after = NC.

I think it actually keeps it really straight forward.

If the damage happens before the bell then it’s a KO/TKO, but if it happens after then it’s a NC/DQ(depending on the situation).

Kinda like when Kenny Florian fought Kit Cope, Florian caught him in an armbar that was locked in, but Cope tapped out just after the bell rang. Even though the armbar was applied before the round ended the actual “finish” didn’t occur until after so it didn’t count.

Although with a submission it doesn’t keep the fighter from continuing (like a KO/TKO would) so the fight keeps going.

He acted like it was just a head butt or something too

which is funny, because he was getting his ass handed to him in that fight. Pretty sure he resorted to butt scooting in that fight.

He stormed out bc Noons was going nuts for a win he won by cuts!

Granted, he was beating the shit out of Diaz, but to go crazy like that over a cut win is pretty weak IMO.

Frank Mir just took home Cro cop’s chin like he did to Big Nog. I need to stop bitching and judging with my anger and stop raging. Even joe Rogan said Mir is one of the best BJJ HW’s in the workd and Joe knows way more then I do about MMA.
