'EA Sports MMA' video game demo drops today (Sept. 28) for Xbox 360 and PS3
Can't wait for "EA Sports MMA" to arrive on Oct. 19?
You don't have to. Much like THQ's "UFC Undisputed 2010" mixed martial arts video game, Electronic Arts (EA) will give fans an early test drive of their newest offering starting today (Sept. 28) on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Jump right into a match via "Fight Now" to experience the intensity of MMA in two weight classes: heavyweight and middleweight. Fans can take control of current STRIKEFORCE heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem, or utilize the brute strength of former professional wrestler, Bobby Lashley. The two middleweights featured in the demo are predominantly Jiu-Jitsu fighters - the top ranked Jake Shields, as well as the always entertaining Jason "Mayhem" Miller ... By sharing the demo with friends, fans can unlock "Classic" Randy Couture as a playable character in the full version of the game.
The full version will feature Strikeforce heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko as a digitized version of himself facing any and all challengers — including UFC star Randy "The Natural" Couture, who retains control over his ancillary rights and has language in his Zuffa contract that allows him the freedom to use his likeness outside of the UFC.
The San Jose-based Strikeforce promotion has been named the "Premiere League" and art seems to be imitating life as the current agreement between DREAM and Strikeforce allows the exchange of talent for select cards, like the Shinya Aoki vs. Gilbert Melendez lightweight title fight that went down on April 17 in Nashville.
Of course comparisons to the "Undisputed 2010" video game are inevitable -- but don't call it a case of friendly competition.
UFC President Dana White had a very public war of words back in 2009 after White accused the gaming giant of turning down his offer for a video game partnership only to then create one of their own after the massive success of THQ's "UFC Undisputed 2009."
Which game the casual fan selects may depend heavily on their choice of fighters. Would you be willing to sacrifice the chance to play as BJ Penn or Anderson Silva to have a better overall game? EA Sports is banking on it and is expected to pull out all the stops in their debut effort.

But I’ll get around to it eventually

It's not...
I like the movement and all along with the physics are more realistic but it just isn’t as fun and “fun” is why we play these games.
Lesnar isn't the most skilled fighter but until somebody beats him he is the #1 HW in the world. It's obviously not Fedor and sure as hell isn't Werdum!
An injured Anderson Silva managed to finish a cheating Sonnen who failed his drug test but GSP can't finish a natural WW who isn't a dinosaur and won't take a fight at an above weight class. Let's not kid ourselves about who the real P4P king is!
Give it till 5noon for xbox you play online?

We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.

Who cares about this game.
And why is Dan Aykroyd in the game with a shaved head?
NOBODY wants to fight Fedor, Except: Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Frank Mir, JDS, Roy Nelson, Cain Velasquez, Matt "Kimbo Killer" Mitrione(by popular demand) and the rest of the UFC Heavyweight division.
I care
because UFC10 was shit
Wanderlei Silva, Bas Rutten, GSP, Shogun Rua, Matt Hughes, Urijah Faber, Dan Hardy, Matt Serra, Cain Velasquez, Dan Henderson & Janina :D
What? Game rocked ass.

Really?
It was frustrating.. I hoped for a very good game, but imo it was only average, not real MMA
Wanderlei Silva, Bas Rutten, GSP, Shogun Rua, Matt Hughes, Urijah Faber, Dan Hardy, Matt Serra, Cain Velasquez, Dan Henderson & Janina :D
I can't help myself
“Not real MMA”- Correct, you should go to a gym for that.
We fight, get beat, rise and fight again.
What was frustrating about it? I had a hard time with it till I got the counter/reversal down now I can hand with anyone on the motherfucker.
And the sway system they added is awesome, a real equalizer in my opinion.

i didnt think so
And lots of others as well. Apparently thq is gonna have a new ufc game every 15-18 months instead of every year because people were saying there weren’t enough improvements/changes to justify another 65 dollars for 10. And I’m not gonna buy a game because the roster is better…I think ea mma is gonna surprise alotta undisputed fans and be a more enjoyable game.and I loooove the fact that randy is on the cover…I’m sure that pisses dana off to no end….anytime that tyrant doesn’t get his way he acts like an even bigger dick..and knowing somethibg gets under his skin puts a smile on my face

i meant ufc undisputed roster
That’s the only thing that I believe will be better than ea mma…gameplay is way more important to me than being able to see and control the ufc’s fighters….just something simple like being able to fight in many different cages/ rings is an awesome touch…where do all the fights happen in undisputed..in the same octagon…every…damn…time

if the rumor is true
that you can DL other people’s CAFs, then you won’t have to worry about the roster as people will be making characters for you.
can’t wait to give it a try, even though I actually dig Undisputed 2010 (except for the crappy career mode)
anyone play this demo yet today??
is it any good?
I'm gonna go home, watch DirecTV, drink bud light and ride my Harley Davidson!!
