Josh Barnett promises to crack heads, drink blood and kill his opponent in Strikeforce debut

Joshbarnett_medium

And tells MMA Weekly that he's aiming for a CBS debut so the whole world can witness it...

"When it comes down to it, the thing that matters most to me is being able to fight. I just want to make sure I can get out there and crack as many heads as possible ... [Visibility] matters big time, 'Cause when I dislocate and tear somebody's head completely off their shoulders and spew blood all over the ring, and then drink it, I want the whole world to see it. I'd love to fight on CBS. Punch somebody so hard that their eyeballs pop out of their head. We haven't really hit on any solid dates yet or anything like that, or even opponents ... In due time. There's not too many people all that chomping at the bit and so ready to meet their death."

Controversial heavyweight fighter Josh Barnett promises all sorts of carnage in his Strikeforce debut, which I suppose is better than the sodomy he promised at Impact FC earlier this year against Geronimo dos Santos. Still, fighters have come under fire recently (Mir, Cerrone) for wishing death upon their opponents and "The Babyface Assassin's" comments certainly fall under that category. Is the former UFC champion and current pro wrestler (Japan) delivering his standard kayfabe interview to keep people buzzing? Or is he crossing the line in an effort to resurrect his stateside career?

I don't know closer

BArentt is great grappler, but how big and strong is he without help? I’m interested to see but I think someone with his background should also get tested a month or two after the fight has been signed. Why wait tell after the fight with a background like his that is not fair to his opponent either.

He has skills Puck, but he is not athletic and is awkward, but

I think with his background he should be banned for life Olympics style. This is a combat sport, not a game teams are playing to put a ball in a net, lives are on the line and I think this kind of cheating is too dangerous to keep giving chances.

Going MLB style, huh?

I totally agree. I think lifetime bans are warranted for fighters who repeatedly flaunt the rules. Only change I would make is to start at a year since 6 months is a somewhat typical layoff to begin with.

Good point Greg!

What’s 6 months in the fight game? Like you said, some take that off between fights anyway. A year for the first offense, 2 years for the second and lifetime for the third!

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

I like Drew's idea

but do not diminish the risks in other sports like football. We seem as MMA fans to love to sight that there have been many more deaths in football than MMA but then in the next breath talk about how life threatening it is as compared to other sports.

Its one thing to cheat to get big and then stop..

Then to cheat even when your big, we can’t complain about Brock because hes never failed a UFC drug test.

NOBODY wants to fight Fedor, Except: Brock Lesnar, Shane Carwin, Frank Mir, JDS, Roy Nelson, Cain Velasquez, and the rest of the UFC heavyweight division.

Shouldn't the same be said about Carwin?

I'm sure Carwin was just buying those steriods to get them off the street.

But in all seriousness I hate when fighters get tried by the court of public opinion, and I think Overeem is the best example of that. I would rather give people the benefit of the doubt until proof of wrong-doing is discovered.

That is true

It was also stated back in Pride doing the juice was ok. It is also known athletes with injuries have used the juice legally to recover. The problem is Barnett when juicing was not allowed by 2 organization he fought for and was caught twice and in SF juicing is not allowed and I think there should be extra measures takin with his background. Carwin buying was not in his UFC days. Even though Carwin has doubt around him he takes the same test Barnett, Sherk and others have been caught by. As well there are so many legal supplements out there many of these guys have the ability to get the latest and greatest.

Why's that Roberto because big and strong.

There’s guys in the olympics that go through hardcore drug testing and are as big and ripped as Brock. With hard work it is possible. Now during he WWE days he did have HGH on him that at first was though as roids. HGH at the time was not banned. Is it possible he does? yeah as possible as anybody else but not because of his size.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Definitely not a class genius or a teacher’s pet, Barnett, I’m betting will not be around in the MMA circuit. It’s funny, how a MMA fighter such as Barnett can have such a tiny brain and still have a huge mouth. Someone like Velasquez or Carwin should seal the deal with such an moron.

F'ck me.

Wow. I’m shocked and really disappointed. Going by the way he beat Okami and Marquardt, he actually did not need to take anything, because there wasn’t that much different from the way he performed against Siva apart from having no problem from putting on a very good performance on the feet. I am sure he could have performed just as well without the drugs, but he obviously didn’t. Damn, I’m gutted, he might as well go and shoot himself, or at least go and do an Evan Tanner. This is worse than Barnett getting done in Affliction.
