All GSP DOES IS LAY N HUMP OPPONENTS?

This is my first fan post on MMAMANIA. I did not think I ever would post something on here except a comment here and there on the message boards. But a recent post which was only one of a few hundred it seems lately, finally pissed me off enough to write this blog. I am getting sick and tired of people bashing GSP and his octagon skills. The tired old saying is GSP only wrestles and he's what is wrong with UFC and MMA in general. Now I agree the Fitch style of just taking a guy down and laying on him is in fact what is wrong with UFC. But GSP does NOT just take a guy down and just lay on them. I am going to post and talk about GSP's last 8-10 fights.

I am gonna start with the 2nd Hughes fight since that is when GSP seemed to really gain popularity and to me took off to the NEXT level as a fighter. It was that fight when he beat his hero and gained that confidence of a champion. OK say it now, he got beat the very next fight I know. IMO he went in overconfident and got caught by a right hand. It happens! Matt Serra has power in those hands. Serra took out Trigg with those hands and almost took a Hughes with the same right hand. So to me that was lucky and should be looked at as a valuable lesson for GSP never to be over confident again. Now the argument most people have is that is the very fight that changed GSP forever. The fight that made him become a wreslter. I can agree GSP since that fight has used his wrestling skills more than ever. But I think that is also the fight he realized he is so good that why should he fight anyone else's type of fight again. Since then he has made every single fighter fight how he wants to fight. Which is to me is what makes him the P4P best in the world. He decides what will happen in the fight. He dictates if the fight will be boxing, wrestling, BJJ, etc. AS, and BJ are two great fighters but they all can be had because a certain style can put them is a position to lose.

Anderson Silva almost found that out against Chael. Chael put him where he wanted to and almost took him out. BJ found this out when Edgar decided where to keep the fight, which was mostly standing. Which proved to be the most important ingredient in beating BJ twice. So my point is to be the P4P greatest you should be able to do whatever u want and the opponent has no say so in what is gonna happen in the fight. That is the case with GSP that no other P4P great can claim. His next fight is a perfect example of this and to me is the only fight where GSP just wrestled. He took at the time the best wrestler in the UFC in Koscheck and beat him at his own game. To me beating a opponent at their own game is just as impressive as a KO or a SUB. U have to be special to do stuff like this at this level. Now instead writing about his next several fights I am just gonna let pictures speak louder than words. And if U still think after looking at the pics that he is only a wrestler that I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.
