UFC Quick Quote: Nate Marquardt welcomes a 'Great' match-up with Vitor Belfort or Wanderlei Silva

Nate-mardquart_medium
And tells Fighters Only he wouldn't mind throwing hands with Michael Bisping or Yushin Okami either...

"A guy like Vitor or Wanderlei or anyone else at the top would be a great match-up. A guy like Bisping or Okami too. I want the title I want the belt. I fell like I am still at the top of the division. I believe one fight with a top contender and I should be there."

Sounds like Nate Marquardt is ready for another shot at the title after disposing of stocky submission specialist Rousimar Palhares at Wednesday's UFC Fight Night 22 event in Texas. Of all the names he's mentioned, which one do you think would be a "Great" match-up? And will the results be any different if he gets a second go-round with Chael Sonnen or Anderson Silva?

Vitor just can't handle grinding wrestlers with good clinch games

See: Couture, Randy and Henderson, Dan.

Okami’s got the striking defense to survive on his feet long enough to wrap Vitor up for a lopsided UD.

Anderson Silva will fall via brutal Republican dry-humping.

Also look at Megareem, Alistair and Ortiz, Tito

I also want to say – Sakuraba but i don’t remember that fight too well. Nearly all his losses can be attributed to being taken down and having his dynamic offensive skills shut down.

Sakuraba frustrated Vitor for the entire fight.

It also didn’t help that Vitor broke his hand on the top of Saku’s head.

I have always love Belfort, but the guy doesn’t deal with adversity that well. When the going gets rough, Vitor checks out.

Thats exactly what I was thinking!

I’d love to see bisping get knocked the fuck out in Hendo esq style

Fuck you! I'm an ANTEATER!

Cali, I did the same thing for the same reason!

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

count me in

as another voter pulling for a Bisping fight so we get to see Bisping fall to yet another top-tier guy and reconfirm he can’t hang with the top fighters. Of course he’d have to get through Akiyama first which is a stretch in my opinion. Which leads to why not the winner of Akiyama/Bisping? Either way it builds another contender regardless of the Marquardt/(winner) bout outcome.

I wanna see bisping get jacked up..

Now if ya heart was as big as ya mouth you'd be real, but its not so I know if you get knocked you'll squeal.

Okami and Belfort are fighting for #1 contender

Give him the winner of Bisping/Akiyama or Chris Leben.

Anderson Silva will fall via brutal Republican dry-humping.

i want to make sure im not alone here and its just that BE is full of mongoloids and simpletons

per a discussion on BE, what do you guys think is more dangerous, a fighter coming in overweight or the Daley sucker punch?

I don’t know how anyone can be serious if they say it’s missing weight. A couple extra pounds doesn’t matter fight night because they all weigh closer to their natural weight anyways. A sucker punch could end a fool. You don’t see a strike coming from a world class striker and you could be eating liquids and having somone change your diaper for the rest of your life. It’s not even close.

i know noone likes hearing about BE bullshit

but i have so much fun trolling over there. this is just now, after a night of trash talking members, degrading the site in general and bashing snowden repeatedly.

Hughes was put in more danger in that fight than Daley did to Koscheck.
Not in my opinion.

he was beyond drained, he couldnt make that extra weight. a sucker punch is by far more dangerous.

so what is it? Simpleton? or Snowden?

proud member of the BE banned club.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. The most hated and misunderstood person on the MMA blogs.. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

Its time for Nate to wait the best name to give him the title show again. Many fights ahead of his next in my opinion.

I hate to say it but i think okami beats my boy vitor…as far as nate goes he should get winner of bisping/sexyama OR however u spell it,nate beats either one

Ohh how I would love to see him hand Bizzzping his arse!

He could put him out like Hendo did! That pitter patter and run style won’t work when the fighter is just as quick as you and hits much harder….

by Kanadian on Sep 17, 2010 12:01 PM EDT reply actions

Nate needs top notch competition.

If I were him I would pissed off at either of these two. Wand wont contend for the belt again he is more or less just here to sell tix and entertain us with his brawling style. Vitor hasnt been a factor for so long that I still dont get why he is even in the conversation, at least Wand shows up a fights now and again. Nates next fight should be a title shot, he doesnt have to prove anything shit Chael did the same thing to AS as he did Nate so I dont think Nate should lose any ground in the title race.
