Rousimar Palhares Apologizes for UFC Fight Night 22 Greasing Accusations

This is my first FanPost and I'm at work so I'll keep it short. Besides, I hate reading the long ones.

MMA Junkie is reporting that Palhares has apologized for his actions at Wednesday night's UFC Fight Night 22 Card.

Rousimar, and members of his team go on to say that "He should have never stopped, Nate won fair and square and did exactly what he should have. Rousimar knows it's imperative to protect yourself at all times, and he failed to do that."

It seems that the issue of greasing is something that will not go away and doesn't have an easy fix. Until UFC 94 I was unaware that this was something that has, or had been going on for quite some time. Anyone who has had any discussions with me on this site knows that I am a huge GSP fan and am notoriously oversensitive to this topic. I hate cheaters. Everyone who's ever played a sport probably hates cheaters, unless they're the ones doing it.

What are your thoughts Maniacs? Did Rousimar step in the ring with a preconceived idea, expecting that Nate would grease? Or are Rousimar's feelings based on his own experience dealing with cheaters in the past who have greased?

Furthermore, what can be done to stop greasers? I've read suggestions on how to repair this ranging from the totally ridiculous, showering before fights; to the sensible, toweling the fighter off before the fight and in between rounds. So again, sound off Maniacs what can be done to stop these infractions from happening all together?
