MMA Quick Quote: Roger Huerta believes 'the case is closed' in bully beatdown

Huerta-comment_medium_medium

Probably because the buster is too embarrassed to publicly admit he got stomped by a guy half his size...

"To be honest, I didn't want to go [to TMZ], but everybody was, like, 'Maybe you should. You have nothing to hide.' Well, I don't. So it kind of happened like that. But at the same it was very, very weird, man. I was really thankful, to be honest. It could have gone either way, I guess, but then again, if you look at things correctly, you don't do that. You don't fully [hit] a girl behind the head, and especially if you're three times the size of her, and they say he was, like, an NFL player. They say he could have potentially killed the girl ... I believe the case is closed. The guy never came forward or pressed any charges, and it kinda is left at that ... It happened. Would have I done it again if I saw the same thing? Of course. I never expected for any of this to come out the way it came out. I'm no hero, man. I just feel like I did the right thing."

Or maybe the fact that the wanksta went balls out on an unsuspecting female? Either way, "El Matador" tells The MMA Hour that he'll likely escape any kind of criminal or civil charges. The Bellator lightweight, for the most part, has the public support behind him. Do you think he did the right thing? And what would you have done if the situation happened to you? Fight or flight?

Here’s for being a man’s man in an age of politically correct pussies. I want to buy you a beer, sir.

Politically correct?

I don’t think anyone was saying “don’t do that” for cultural sensitivity reasons. He stomped a guy for being a serious asshole. What does that have to do with being “politically incorrect”?

by Collin4mma on Sep 15, 2010 10:57 AM EDT up reply actions

alot of people won’t get involved for a myriad of reasons, but I’m referring to the general malaise society has over guys who do bad shit and then get away from it. Relax your spincter and cheer the guy for doing the right thing.

I am cheering the guy.

I just don’t see what the situation has to do with political correctness. It ‘s like commenting on a stopped burglary by saying “thank god nobody brought up the economy.” Well, yeah – what does that have to do with anything? It’s a red herring.

i think what greenbeard meant was, in this day and age of liberal americans, many guys in huerta’s position get criminally prosecuted themselves. the days of takin a piece of shit out behind the woodshed n stompin a mudhole in him for bein a douche are long gone. oh for the days when a man could get his ass whipped for doin wrong, n oh for the days when the man teaching the lesson wouldn’t get in trouble. think about this, the greatest generation of men this country ever produced grew up this way, by this i mean the fightin men in WW2. those guys grew up being held accountable for their actions n held others accountable for their actions. nothing teaches a good life lesson better than an old fashion ass whipping!

And when the soldiers came back, some could only use restrooms that were for “colored” people? And had to send their kids to separate schools? I hate when people refer to the “good ole’ days” but neglect the fact that there never was any.

Most people tend to think of us as nothing but desert

but in reality, the southern quarter half of the state is desert, most of the eastern part and all of the norther part of the state are at elevation. We actually have 4 ski resorts (Flagstaff, Williams, Tucson, yep Tucson, and Pinetop- this is where the plot from Fire in the Sky came from). And Flagstaff is in the middle of the largest Ponderosa Pine forest in the world. We are very diverse, which is what I love about it. Ok, my duties for official tourism officer are over now.

Crazy that it was raining in Salt Lake, then you drive through a mountain pass and BAM, 5’ of snow on the ground. Craziness. I like Salt Lake City a lot, but I also like to drink. Makes things interesting.

I have no doubts

it is just difficult on out-of-towners to go to the bar. I went there for like 4 days a few years back and never really saw what the mountain looked like. It was blizzard conditions and basically got like 12 inches of snow each day and night I was there. I want to go back on a sunny day!

Definitely after the New Year. I can’t entirely remember. I believe they had just opened the newest chair that took you to runs on the backside of the mountain. It was closed the whole time we were there due to high amounts of snow. Could hear avalanche control going on every morning at the top. Nuts.

As for future reference.. The back side and top of the Bird, is wack 80% of the year. And ironically thats where most of the tourists and non-locals go to ski. The best runs are on the far east runs and farther west runs. The tram is pretty wack as well most of the year..

we realized that the upper bowl sucked ass after about 2 hours. We ended up finding some great runs on the far right side of the mountain (if you are looking up at it), I believe that is the west side. Some really fun tree runs over there.

about an hour east of Durango, CO. Pagosa Springs. They average more snow than any other spot in CO. Lots of excellent tree runs, easy hikes to backcountry experiences (not like heli skiing or anything, but nice), lots of wind lips and cliffs ranging from 5’-65’ with everything in between. Imagine how different this whole thing would have been if the
video started 30 seconds later and didn’t show the asshole
cold cocking that chick. All we would see is a pro fighter beating and
stomping down some dude.

But thats the thing

They didnt show the part where the girl looks at him wrong, and provokes the whole situation. She had it coming.

Roger is awesome

I saw the rerun of Huerta/Guida on Spike this past Sunday..MMA needs more beasts like this guy.

Me too, great fight.

I thought Guida had him at one point but Roger pulled through for the win. Great back and forth action. It’s good to see the UFC/Spike TV still airs good fights regardless of whether that guy is still on their roster or not. A great fight is a great fight

WAR Roger Huerta

Any guy who hits a girl, they should get there ass kicked. Im just glad that someone was at that scene to do something. The guy that hit the girl was a big guy, I’m no mma fighter but if he hits my girl I’d probably go in there swinging then probably get my assed kicked cause Im not that big myself but I would be so enraged that I would throw all caution to the wind and the size of the guy wouldnt matter and my thoughts would be so irrational at that point so Im glad that a guy like Roger, who can kick some ass himself, was there and could put the beatdown on that fool.

I agree that someone had to do something,

hopefully the guy and his crew dont hunt Roger down and put a cap in his ass! Isnt that how shit goes down these days.

This happened in Texas, right? You're right, isnt it a law that must own a firearm there!

Aplogies to those from Texas, no dis-respect intented. Living in NY, we have probably the strickest gun laws and I’m pretty sure Texas is just the opposite.
