UFC 123: Gerald Harris vs Maiquel Falcao set for November 20 in Detroit

2yk01ok_medium

Middleweights Gerald Harris and promotional newcomer Maiquel Falcao have agreed to meet at UFC 123 from The Palace of Auburn Hills just outside of Detroit, Michigan on November 20.

Tatame.com brought word of the bout yesterday along with the fact that the Chute Boxe-trained Falcao has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC.

"Hurricane" Harris is riding a 10-fight win streak that has seen him take "Knockout of the Night" honors in two out of his last three bouts including the vicious KO slam of Dave Branch, of which the highlight was featured on ESPN's top-ten plays of the week.

Not a bad 2010 so far for Gerald.

Star-divide

Harris' opponent, Maiquel Falcao, comes from the famed Chute Boxe camp and will look to extend his own winning streak to eight.

The 25-3 Brazilian has not been out of the first round in his last nine contests, going 8-1 with all but one of those victories coming via TKO or KO.

UFC 123 is shaping up to be a one of the most stacked cards of the year without the support of a title fight. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will battle Lyoto Machida while BJ Penn and Matt Hughes will complete their trilogy.

now this guy can be labelled a KO artist

I am rapidly becoming a fan of his. Still want to see him start mixing it up with some top guys so we can really evaluate him.

Not only does BJ Penn quit on his stool versus guys that are bigger than him...He gets tooled by guys that are SMALLER than him. BJ should just stick to jumping out of pools, not fighting. I shoulda listened to Ulf.

Maiquel Falcao could be an interesting dude.

Fabio Maldonado a guy who beat him two times should also be signed.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic !

don't know anything about this guy

other than looking at his impressive KO filled record.

Maldonado is a really slick boxer, sick jab but

bad cardio and not that good on the mat. He’s much better served as a trainer partner for A Silva, the Nogs and the guys at Black House more so than anything. Big Rig is a decent guy, defnitely deserves a shot in teh big leagues but Gerald Harris is a special kind of fighter – he’s gonna be a future top 5 WW and will trounce Falcao.

I agree about Harris

He is one of my favorite up and comers. Thanks for the run down on Maldonado.

I haven't seen Joe Rogan look that disturbed since he watched Two Girls, One Cup.

The top 5 things I learned this weekend:
5) SEC "team speed" is O-VER-RA-TED
4) Orange and White will never look as good as Green and Yellow.
3) 102,000 people get awfully quiet when they choke on too much Duck.
2) The Vols would have had better luck playing checkers in their end zones than trying to stop the Ducks from getting in there.
1) I fell victim to one of the classic blunders - The most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never go against a Mormon when points are on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
