i cant help but feel a twinge of anger
When I see tibau…I respect the discipline it take to cut weight, and realize its an integral part of mma…but isn’t the idea to get 2 similar sized guys and see who has the skill/heart to win? Using science to cut ridiculous amounts of weight just seems kinda, I dunno, cheap..having that big of a size advantage seems unfair…I’d like to see sameday weigh-ins for awhile, perhaps.

I respect him for it
I know you said you respect him for the discipline aspect. But it’s not his fault others can’t/haven’t mastered the art. If they had same day weigh-ins I think it would take away from the fight’s potential. Drained fighters makes for a poor fight
The weight difference at HW is worst for a lot of em.
Along with the other skills Tibau has (such as jits and what not), fighters have to adjust to his size and plan for it. Weight cutting isn’t a ‘Martial Art’ but it’s an extra aspect his opponents havta plan for
Went to my first jits class. Don't think I was ever so happy with getting my ass handed to me
i see your point about being drained
But I was thinking along the lines that same day weigh ins would discourage large cuts…everybody would get bumped up a weight class, but I’d figure that with less cutting, fighters would have more energy, not less….it’ll never happen tho, just a thought

and with hugh cuts
I feel there is often some shady means of reaching weight..like when alves got busted with those diuretics(spelling?) In his system….and tibau trains at ATT as well….there’s lotsa discipline involved,no doubt…but sometimes there’s more than that

Nice point
About the people cutting less. I assumed you just meant people cutting their usual amount on the day but I do see your point and agree with that.
And with the diuretics (copied your spelling), I think innocent until proven otherwise. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they were caught (like Alves was)
