Houston Alexander comes from behind to stop Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou at Shark Fights 13 (Pic). Once again, conditioning dooms "The African Assassin." But do you think he should have been given more time to fight?

soko is fucking terrible

How was that guy ever in UFC?

not even kimbo got finished by houston.

by Lester The Pimp on Sep 12, 2010 9:13 AM EDT reply actions

not only that

But right before the machida fight his manager was saying he was the best 205er in the world…I guess every manager will say something along those lines tho…it seems like his gas tank is the first gaping hole he needs to close…kinda happy for houston…he’s not top 10..but he usually brings it(minus kimbo fight)

least talented 205er about...

considering his sick genetics – yud think heed dedicate more time to his cardio because he will always have his power – fuck this guy needs to stop fighting and become a body builder or something – he is talentless!

who are you to talk? You suck at what you do too, taking time to type out your thoughts and we get “yud” and “heed” in one sentence. talk about talentless, you should throw your key board in a lake.

talentless a bit far since i was in a bad mood and put big cash on him – but he is a waste of sick genetics…sorry i havent punctuated every single part and used text writing but some of us have things to do during the day and cant waste time making sure our comments are to perfection for pissants like you!

hahaha "pissants like you"

love it!

BJ Penn is the biggest waste of talent in MMA history. Like usual, my pick was wrong and I blame a certain pudgy Hawaiin for my own short comings when it comes to talent selection. As it stands BZ – 3 Freenow82 – 1.

Lol

If you’re going to have a go at someone for spelling something wrong you have to get everything right. Or else it is just hypocritical

plus the guy was hyped alot by the ufc.

he has failed almost everywhere.

I'm all about covering the spread and moneylines. Glory favors the bold. Chance favors the prepared mind. Luck, well i have that too. University of Utah goes to the Pac-12 conference in 2011. I expect them to compete immediately for the conference CG. Brock Lesnar will defeat Cain Velasquez. Womens MMA, the next big thing in sports. Utah and Boise take care of business in week one. Don't be surprised if they both go undefeated.

yup MMA is like any sport.

and If they had it more like a tour we’d see many different results. I think fighters have too long time to prepare for specific opponents, fighters should train their overall game and fight whoever is infront of them, you don’t need months to prepare for one opponent. Of course the problem is the organization wouldn’t have time for their LAME promo’s.

My man Djoko gonna take the US Open tomorrow. EPIC match against federer match of the year he should beat Nadal pretty handily imo.

Chael Sonnen: Last time I defeated the myth, this time I'll defeat the man.
So...hyped...

by frosnt1 on Sep 12, 2010 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah hope so! he's won the last 3 against Nadal and both players are on fire.

I’m Glad the weather gods stepped in and delayed the match, some extra rest improves Djoko’s chances of winning. The scheduling at the US Open with the mens semi’s on “Super Saturday” and then final right the day after is usually a bit tough.

if i had a dollar for every htped fighter the ufc got and failed in the octagon i might have 200 whole dollars. lol.

i get 5 dollars from sokoudjou alone. lol.

lol, that was possibly the latest stoppage of the year. I thought Houston was gonna start feeling sorry for Soko and stop hitting him.

by HappyLittleTreez on Sep 12, 2010 9:42 AM EDT reply actions

From what I heard online last night

The guy also mentally gasses at the 5 min mark. By second round he gives up if he cant put the opponent away. He needs GSP’s psychiatrist.

I've got something to say; it better to burn in hell than to fade away!!!

sokojou is the worst

why does hendo waste his time cornering this guy

utah is going undefeated and so is boise state university. utah will beat the mighty tcu and notre dame teams late in the season and will go to their third bcs bowl

I think he sees some potential in sokou.

1. Jon ''Bones'' Jones
2. Anthony ''Showtime'' Pettis
3. Phil ''Mr. Wonderful'' Davis
4. Terry Etim
5. Patricio ''Pitbull'' Freire

He needs to stop training with hendo, hendo has shit for cardio too

Sokou is talented, but is wasting his career away by not training his obvious weakness.

Nutrition

Live in San Diego, know his girlfriend, she said his nutrition is terrible, eats candy bars a lot and basically whatever he feels like. Have seen him train at Victory and he is a beast. His nutrition could play a big part.

by Monte Farst on Sep 12, 2010 12:25 PM EDT reply actions

he has no cardio and no ground game

he’s a decent kickboxer for a round or so and that’s that. those things arent going to change, he can start training with the maranivichs or whoever else, the guy just doesnt have it… he looks scary as hell and that is about the best weapon he’s got.

happy for Houston.

A well desserved win. I was dying to get home after work yesterday to watch the fight. But i was so fucking tired i passed out before 9. I woke up this morning so fucking pissed at myself :/

by LJchamp on Sep 12, 2010 12:32 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

Soukodjou breaks down mentally when he can't finish an opponent.. I think it's more mental than cardio being a factor..

Conan : You are known as a striker. Is that correct? Tell me what that means.
Chuck : Well I like to punch people, or kick them.

I think a lot of fighters deal with that issue. karo has a load of talent but his head isn’t at the level it should be to perform to his max.

Learn from GSP. Admit it’s an issue and put a psychologist on your payroll.

by 79guy on Sep 12, 2010 3:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Soko, Karo, Kang...

All have talent/potential to be Top 10 fighters in their Division, but just lack that mental toughness. It’s a shame really.

Arlovski : Kang : GSP : Rampage : Lytle : Huerta : Quarry : Serra : Wandy : Pulver : Alvarez

by ArlovsKang on Sep 13, 2010 4:17 AM EDT up reply actions

I use to like Karo

His judo was always good to watch but to say top 10 I think is pushing it. I think there’s plenty of others ahead of him GSP, KOS, Fitch, P.Thiago, Serra, Lytle, Kampmann, Alves, Diaz, BJ, Hughes, Almedia etc. That’s not an actual list or order just names from the top of my head
I realise Karo beat Diaz before but today’s versions are a lot different

Went to my first jits class. Don't think I was ever so happy with getting my ass handed to me

Soku definitely was and is the more skilled of the two

But his gas tank is fucken horrible and his mental strength is about as big as AA. Soku vs Jardine would be an awesome fight whoever loses that can go right ahead and retire or at least take a HUGE 2+yr layoff just working on the serious holes they both have.

If you dont like drugs then dont do them.....give them to me!

by Khaos_Warrior on Sep 12, 2010 3:59 PM EDT reply actions

As big as AA?

AA gets knocked out due to a poor chin but then comes back in his next fights as if he has an iron chin?

by Robert(1) on Sep 12, 2010 4:22 PM EDT up reply actions

How did Kimbo beat Houston?

I mean all Houston had to do was just fight like he has in the past and he would have won

by Robert(1) on Sep 12, 2010 4:21 PM EDT reply actions

Houston won a fight??

Shocking, Im surprized anyone won this fight! Man did these two ever end up being a couple of huge busts! I wouldve laughed at a draw. I thought TS would’ve beat Houston with relative ease beings that he is way more skilled and all.

by HEELHOOK on Sep 13, 2010 10:16 AM EDT reply actions

"But do you think he should have been given more time to fight?"

NO since dude was turtled and was welcoming the punches like an abuse survival victim.
