UFC Quick Quote: Ryan Bader plans on finishing Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 119
And if he can mirror the UFC 114 performance of fellow wrestler Jason Brilz he may have a pretty good shot...
"Yes I do feel confident standing with Nog. He has great boxing, and great counter punches. The thing is, this is MMA and with 4 oz gloves on anything can happen. I feel that I hit very hard and have a good chin, so who knows a KO could happen. He is very good on the ground and I am very good at my wrestling game. I have fought many black belts in my career and train with even more. I have to be smart when I’m on the canvas with Rogerio. He is very slick but I believe my wrestling can neutralize his Jiu Jitsu. I plan on finishing this fight any way I can; whether that is a KO or a TKO from ground & pound. Rogerio is an extremely hard fighter to finish but I am going to go in there and try to do just that. I need to focus on this fight first and go out there and win. Then I can look towards my next fight, and if that is (Jon) Jones then we will get after it."
"Darth" Bader inches his way closer to a light heavyweight title shot when he faces Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 119 on Sept. 25 in Indianapolis. The TUF 8 champ and undefeated powerhouse talks to BuddaSport about his possible collision course with fellow surging prospect Jon Jones but must first overcome the experience of "Lil' Nog." Can Bader get it done? Or will the Brazilian put him to sleep in "Naptown?"

i still don’t know what to think of bader just yet.. to be honest he hasn’t even been on my radar at all.. i expect lil nog to take this fight with ease, but for some reason i feel like im underestimating the new blood..

Bader is a much better version of Brilz.
Not looking good for Nog based on that.

Great minds, BNF. But I think Lil Nog looked past Brilz, just like everybody else.

maybe Brilz is really that good.
Do we know when he is fighting again? Or who?

Brilz had a really good night combo'd with Nog overlooking him.
He’s 3-2 in UFC, finishing only Brad Morris in his debut by TKO in the 2nd round, most likely to GnP. He upset Tim Boetch at 96 with a UD, where I think he barely survived the 1st round, only to come back and out grapple Tim the remaining 2. He then dropped a split decision to Eliot Marshall, who just recently got cut from UFC, at 103. I own the dvd and still have not watched the fight, so I can’t say anything positive or negative on that. He then won a UD against Eric Schafer at Vera vs Jones, a fight that I think I’ve seen but cannot remember. I want to say he outgrappled Schafer to his decision win before getting called up to fight Nog.
I think Brilz is decent, but for the Nog fight he had a really good night, and Nog just didn’t think anything of him. I think Nog takes Bader seriously and armbars him. I really like Bader (unlike alot of people, but his fan base has increased dramatically recently) and hope he puts up a good showing, but I’m really wanting Nog to win.
I should never have doubted the wisdom of David W-S or the talent of Junior Dos Santos…and screw Dana White

I agree....Brilz was in there on short notice and had NOTHING to lose and it showed

Short notice
I think the whole short notice thing should not be overlooked. Not to take anything away from Brilz but that has to be considered along with everything else. I think Bader is one to watch no matter how he does against lil nog or jon jones (if they fight).

I don't think Bader is a better version of Brilz.
People just were sleeping on him because he wasn’t exciting. Unlike Bader, he throws cleaner strikes and things other than all wild hooks, he doesn’t gas out in the first round, he has a plodding wrestling game once on the mat so he doesn’t open up for subs a lot and he was a decent submission game while on the bottom. But with that he doesn’t pack the power of bader or his explosion whether for takedowns or anything else. Also finishing instinct but that could be a bad thing for Bader because everytime he thinks the guy is hurt he just runs in crazy which he will pay for dearly one day.

He reminds me of
Chuck LIddell a bit, be fore he was getting ktfo everytime his jaw got tapped. Especially early pre-champion Chuck Liddell. He has a mean overhand right, killer instinct when he has someone on queer street, & good wrestling background (although Bader uses his wrestling more) but his conditioning doesn’t seem to be where it should be and he doesn’t always seem to time his punches (something Chuck later became every good at)
Every fighter has a plan until he gets hit
i was at ufc 114
and i never heard so much boo’s in my life after lil nog pulled off that spilt d. lil’ nog’s preformance was hoorible i think lil’ nog is gonna get dropped a couple of times and bader will pull off a UD

well, it also worries me that my boys the nog bros might be losing their touch slightly..
wrestlers that train right, do good.. and it seems like bader has incorperated his wrestling well with mma.. wrestlers that take mma serious, learn how to defend jj easier than jj fighters deal with wrestlers grappling them around with force..

Yes. Check out the cheap show and don't expect too much. It was a decent effort but I expected more violence.

No, but it had some cheesy "philosophical" scenes in it. I wanted the type of ass kicking violence and mayhem that you saw in the last Rambo movie.

Damn that! I was hoping for some serious ass kicking like in Taken

Fantastic stuff, I think everyone who likes action should see Taken. It’s a really simple movie, but kicks so much ass.

the new rambo was great!~
i was hoping the expendables was going to be as gritty, but it didn’t hold up to rambo, as far as violence goes!~

Really?
I thought the violence in it was fantastic. Yes it’s flavored with humor but it is a lot of fun and totally exceeded my expectations. I recommend everyone to watch it who loves old style action movies.

free,
i had really high expectations for the expendables.. i still thought it was a good movie, and i enjoyed it, but considering how rambo kicked ass and then some, sly stone packs the movie full of bad ass mammy jammies, fucking JET LI is in the film for cryin out loud, my buzz was through the roof and i just felt it didn’t deliver on the storyboard and not enough violence..
all i can do is compair it to rambo.. i thought well, if rambo was that grimy than expendables will be extra grimy & to me it didn’t hold up.
overall i gave it a 3 1/2 stars out of 5… which is fairly high still considering im a very tough critic..
formerly stinky~fingers
aka~ The Current mmamania UNDERCARD pool CHAMPION...
I see, you are more into the extra grimy serious stuff, I just wasn't expecting anything like that at all
I guess we have different tastes. I thought Expendables was way better than the last Rambo. I had a chuckle on the whole movie.
But I enjoyed both, so I guess we can both recommend it regardless of preference.

yeah id recommend it..
id give rambo a simular rating, maybe slightly edging out expendables..
imo- the expendables was supposed to be like rambo, but only with a group of bad ass dudes, rather then john rambo..
i don’t know, i was disappointed in the storeyboard as well.. i guess i was hoping for the action to take the whole movie over.. i did enjoy the humor too, but that goes without saying(its a must)……

oh, and i enjoy all types of movies...
they don’t have to be extra grimy or even grimy at all.. i appreciate all films.. i watch at least 5 movies a week…

Big Nog unfortunately can't deal with those monsters but Rogerio has good skills in boxing and muay thia. Not a specialist but a good fighter.

My money's on Bader
Lil Nog looked weak against Brilz and Bader would easily destroy Brilz.
im just worried maybe he has learned from galloway
and is very good at getting tapped from the top…. cause nog has one of the best gaurds at 205.
you mean Joey Galloway, the old Seahawks receiver?

Bader will destroy him, but ultimately it does not matter since he will simply earn the right to take a beatdown from Jones. On an unrelated note, can we please for god’s sake get Mike Goldberg to stop saying “Little Nawg?”
