James 'No Bitch' Toney wants Randy 'Real Man' Couture to return the favor and come to boxing
Props: Fight Hype
Quoteoworthy:
"My thing with Randy Couture is he is a legend in his sport. He seems like a good person. I don't know him personally, but from when I met him, he seems like he's a great dude, man. And if he is a real man, come put the gloves on. I did it his way, now come do it my way. I'm glad they got respect for me because my background speaks for me. Everybody knows that I ain't got no bitch in me."
James (had his) "Lights Out" Toney sings a different tune following his submission loss to Randy Couture at UFC 118 last Saturday night (Aug. 28) in Boston. The portly pugilist was taken down and choked out by "The Natural" in a lopsided affair designed to draw casual fans to a "Boxing vs. UFC" contest that proved just how different both sports are despite Toney's pre-fight trash talk. Can the fading legend convince Couture to get his butt whooped inside the boxing ring? Or is there nothing left to prove after his "Beantown" beatdown?

Dear James,
Randy didn’t say he was going to destroy everyone in boxing like your dumbass did regarding MMA.. That is all…

Also!
I hate when people say MMA fighters should go fight in boxing. IT’S NOT THE SAME THING! Boxers can come into MMA and still box! MMA fighters CAN’T go into boxing and do MMA. MMA is a real fight. Boxing is limited. Simple fact.
Lesnar isn't the most skilled fighter but until somebody beats him he is the #1 HW in the world. It's obviously not Fedor and sure as hell isn't Werdum!
P.S. - Fight Kimbo Slice and all is forgiven. Thanks in advance.

Toney can come do a wrestling rules only fight with Randy, then Randy can go do a boxing only rules fight. Or they could mix it up in the cage.. Errr wait. Next.
Not only does BJ Penn quit on his stool versus guys that are bigger than him...He gets tooled by guys that are SMALLER than him. BJ should just stick to jumping out of pools, not fighting. I shoulda listened to Ulf.

My bets are usually one month from the date.
I take it your betting on Cain Synyster? I had an ong oing with Striker that had a sig & picture bet for Brocks next three opponents but he only came on a week after, then I have yet to see him? So it’s not worth betting someone that is not going to show face.
So I’ll take a sig and pic bet if your game? Rules are simple keep the sig two to three lines max, nothing to offensive and add pic to go with? One month from the date of the bet you can take your sig down. So in this case you can take my sig off Novemeber 23rd.

Randy won't go to boxing
He knows he would get his ass beat. This is something Toney will never understand about MMA.
While Randy would undoubtedly get beaten like a red-headed stepchild,
he would perform better than Toney did in his MMA debut, pretty much no question.
It would still be one-sided, but I’m kinda doubting it’s a R1 KO.

And
if Toney needs another fight with someone who’s not a grappler to prove that just punches isn’t good enough to win an MMA fight, give him Pat Barry and he can just quit on his feet this time instead of the ground.
Oooooo, I like it.
Let Pat Barry kick him in the leg once and watch Toney do his ‘waving his hand around in the air’ version of a tap.

I think Dana and the UFC really screwed up with matchin Toney w/ Randy..
He was talking crap about their stand up, so the UFC gives him a wrestler? We all knew that he had a punchers chance but more than likely Randy would do what he did on Saturday. They should have matched him up with someone like Kongo or Pat Barry who would’ve stood up with him and picked him apart to show how different striking is in MMA instead of reiterate how boxing has no place in the cage, if that’s all you have..
He gave Toney exactly what he asked for.
Toney said he would beat anybody, then unleashed a diatribe of names Lesnar and Couture were the only names I could make out though.
The Pain Train's in full steam ! ABM's look out.
Dear James...
…Thanks for the offer, brother… I’m flattered that you would think I’m on your level as a world champion boxer, but actually, as I’ve stated quite clearly for months now, I am not. You have dominated a specialized combat sport that I have never even competed in professionally. It would be silly of me to even hint that I could compete with a world class boxer.
…on the same note, I was surprised when you boldly claimed that you could destroy any world champion MMA fighter, even though you never competed in even one amateur MMA bout. I as well as many of my fellow fighters laughed it off, but after months of the same, I figured, well, the guy WANTS to do this, so why not? It was hard to imagine having that kind of blind confidence, but you did, & hey, it’s your life, brother!
…respectfully, I will have to take a pass on your challenge for a non-boxer to compete with you, a world champion boxer, on a professional level. Surely you would be insulted as a world champion by the thought of having to waste your time fighting an amateur in your sport. Maybe you’re just feeling a little silly & foolish inside, now that the results of our MMA bout didn’t match up to what you so boldly proclaimed. I wish you all the best, Mr. Toney.
sincerely, RANDY COUTURE
p.s. -thanks for bringing more boxing fans to the sport of MMA!
Well stated and it gives me a thought

I think its a smart business move
Lets face it money talks. I read somewhere that Toney got 750k to fight Couture. Sorry to say I would get taken down and submitted and tap too for that kind of money. Randy is a business man and at the end of his career and boxing pays hundred times more than mma. If Randy is offered a guaranteed 15 million to fight Toney I think he takes the fight. Who wouldn’t take a fight for that kind of money. He could go into the ring throw a few punches and fall down whenever he chooses. It may be a freak show but Randy would get paid a ton of money to do it.
oh btw
Toney says “I have no bitch in me”…. I sure thought he looked like a bitch when he was tapping the air to get out of a choke hold. If he is no bitch he should of just fell asleep!

This isn't simply "different sports"
And Randy already showed he was a “real man,” Toney.
A sport shouldn’t call itself “fighting” when it is not about the full plethora of skills used in a fight. “Honorable?” For most of a century, boxing has stood at the top of the heap, strutting and preening because of the high gates and fan interest. All this despite being only a combat sport restricted to one component of combat.
This would be all well and good, if collegiate and Olympic wrestlers had received the same acclaim. Or judoka. Or jiu-jitsu fighters. Or Thai kickboxers. And so on. (Or boxers hadn’t ducked their frequent challenges!) But where was boxing all those years—lifting up other component-combat sports? Encouraging people to respect and see them as well?
Hardly. These are not merely your “cup of tea” and mine separate sports. 99 times out of 100 in a REAL fight would the outcome be a boxing one or what we saw? Point proved. Boxing needs to go back to its proper place rather than the one it never earned.
The fact that Toney is asking Randy for this is ridiculous. *ahem* toney? Toney?? YO! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO PESTERED DANA INTO THIS MATCH, MORON!!!
It’s not like Randy was going out saying how he’s da shit and any boxer that comes in the octagon will get his ass kicked or something like that….
Randy does not need to go box Toney at all…..Toney started all this mess, and Randy simply finished it.
THE END. GO READ A BOOK, GO TO THE MOVIES…..GET A FREAKIN’ HOBBY, JAMES!!
Toney helped confirm one thing in my mind...
Any decent wrestler who has a good shot could destroy a fantastic boxer in mma. Randy doesn’t even have that great of a shot – his greco wins him fights – but he was easily able to takedown Toney. Unless a striker has a great natural sprawl, I would take a wrestler in a fight over a boxer any day of the week.
In fact, I bet that any NCAA wrestling champion from 174 and up could ruin Toney in an mma fight.
common randy
you could have traded a few shots standing, it’s what we want to see. But a low single right off the bat, lame. At least push him against the cage and throw some dirty boxing in there, its what you do best, i don’t think ive ever seen Randy shoot a low single before. He must have been scared.
absolutely
sure
he tried it MMA style
now let’s see Radny
try it boxing style
don’t know what they will do for the rubber match tho?
