Normally I would come here to gloat right now, and I must say I enjoy watching the little bugger get humbled.
That said, if this is the end for BJ (I doubt it is, although probably as a top contender/champion) I will really miss watching him fight. Not too many guys combine the skill and talent with the plain old tough-as-hell street fighter ingredient like BJ. Also, I don’t want to come off as a guy who kicks folks when they are down, like BJ’s fans are wont to do when things are going their way.
So props to BJ for all the entertaining moments over the years (my fave was when he quit in the corner — sorry, couldn’t resist), and even bigger props to the hard-working and well-deserving new champion, Frankie Edgar.

Before I start, I’m a multi-year BJ hater.. I realize the skills but hate the douchebaggery.
But if GSP’s ass-whooping didnt humble him, I dont see much doing it..
Also, all this talk about Penn being old and should retire.. Why? He still has an elite skillset level and is an entertaining fighter, it’s just that Edgar has his number.. Penn couldn’t deal with the speed.. That doesn’t mean everyone is now going to beat up on Penn.. He still beats 99% of the division, and I think easily beats Maynard if he beats Edgar again.
I must admit to being a fellow BJ hater,
and I think the only reason this could humble him is because he doesn’t have a built-in excuse (or explanation if you prefer) for the loss. When he lost to Frankie before he was robbed by the judges and unmotivated. When he lost to GSP he was beaten by a bigger fighter who cheated (bullshit). When he lost to Hughes he was beaten by a bigger fighter whom he was beating before injuring his rib . . . the list goes on and on. But until he comes out and claims to have had some phantom injury going into this fight, what excuse does he have? He was beaten decisively by a smaller man everywhere the fight took place. If anything could humble him it would be this loss.

Whats funny about this is that all he does is relax. He even said going into this fight that he has been resting for it instead of training his ass off. I think his life is one big relaxation session lol!

It seems like no matter when I’m there, the chix are always smoking hot. Sometimes you’ll go to a place and the girls are ok with a few 9’s or 10’s in the mix but the Sundowner always seems to have loads of the hottest girls.

I’ve never been to a strip club in the U.S. but I always hear that they’re somewhat limited in what the girls can do. Eg – some states don’t allow the girls 100% in the buff. Maybe it’s dependant on the location?

Some blue law about no alcohol with fully nude bitches. They charge about $20 cover, and probably take a cut of lap dance money too. The regular topless ones serve alcohol. PA (where I live) is one of two things…if they serve alcohol, you are relegated to pasties and G-strings or if it is BYOB, full nude.

he prolly just thought since he smoked his last 3 opponents, he didnt need to get pushed they way Marinovich pushes him. Marinovich is a master of conditioning, and not training with him has shown in BJ’s last 2 fights.

It's frustrating
I’m not a BJ fan for the most part but I think the guy’s got it in him to dominate if he would just work harder – physically and mentally. I think he’s under-conditioned vs most of his opponents but often gets by on pure talent. And other times he just breaks down if he’s not ahead after a couple of rounds. I think a change of scenery can help with that.
To assume
That bj didn’t train for this fight is disrespecting Frankie. Can it be that Frankie is the better fighter right now? Yes, it can. Bj can lose and the reasons don’t always have to be because he didn’t train or didn’t take the fight seriously or just thought he could get by on talent only.

He lost before he ever stepped into the ring
His heart was not in that fight. You could tell when they showed him walking into the ring he was not his crazy self. This in not a knock on Frankie he outclassed BJ for sure. I am just saying I think he needs to walk away from fighting. He doesn’t want to train like everyone else. He got away with not training for so long it’s hard to make yourself a hard worker. Frankie showed what hard work does for a fighter. He looked awesome and BJ just looked slow and bored. I don’t think he needs to go to a different camp because at the end of the day his mind wouldn’t be in to it anywhere else. He just needs to get out while he can and I hope he saved his money wisely so he doesn’t have to be Jens Pulver. Not saying he ever would be but its sad to watch lil evil get beat so easily now. I don’t like watching BJ fight anymore he just doesn’t have the desire to do it. What about Florian? I can’t believe how bad he looked. He may be a choke artist but I think its messed up Dana said it. There could have been other issues that we don’t know because injuries do happen. Another fight Nate Diaz looks awesome at 170 I know he is not beating top contenders but he looks a lot better at that weight. I know he says 155 is doable but I think he loses to much to be effective. Now that BJ is out as the best 155er I would love to see Eddie Alvarez and Gilbert Melendez come to the UFC. I read that someone thought Melendez’s wrestling was better than Frankie’s…what made anyone think this? Frankie is a much more accomplished wrestler and would school Melendez on the feet. Melendez has more power but Frankie showed that he can take a punch and he showed he can make you miss a lot. Would love to watch the fight though because Melendez would come well prepared. While I am on it get NIck Diaz back too even though he doesn’t play by the Dana’s rules he is an amazing fighter.

you could tell just from the walk in bj wasnt into it I even asked the guy I was watching the fight with,whats wrong with bj look at the way hes walking into the cage you think there something wrong with him?he just replied naw hes just focused I honestly think he looked like he didnt want to be there,and his corner guys sucked no good advice thet were just talking gibbirish I think that if bj leg kicked edgar he would’ve slowed him down he got him with one leg kick and it threw his timing off and bj got him with 2 hard shots and then he didnt throw it again for the whole fight got to give it to frankie though he dominated bj for 5 rounds
