UFC 118 bonuses and awards for 'Edgar vs. Penn 2'
UFC 118: "Edgar vs. Penn 2" from the TD Arena in Boston, Massachusetts has officially wrapped, which means that it’s time for those special fighters who went above and beyond to get a little extra moolah for their efforts.
It's no small check either. These guys are cashing in to the tune of $60,000 each.
In addition to their base salaries, the UFC awarded Nate Diaz and Marcus Davis "Fight of the Night" for their back and forth bout that saw "The Irish Hand Grenade" suffer a horrible gaping cut that coated the cage with blood.
Also ready to race to the bank is local boy Joe Lauzon, who destroyed Gabe Ruediger before making him tap to an armbar in the first round. Lauzon later took credit for personally selling 600 tickets, but it sounded more like 6000 with the huge ovation the crowd gave him after the win.
Cha-ching.
With no knockouts, there was no "Knockout of the Night."
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC 118:
- Fight of the Night: Marcus Davis vs. Nate Diaz
- Submission of the Night: Joe Lauzon
15,575 fans attended the event for a live gate of $3,000,000
Again, each fighter received $60,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.

J-Lau deserved some extra scratch for his performance
He was very impressive and fought like an animal in there, I’m looking forward to seeing him again soon, good on him winning like that in front of the home crowd.

Guida already beat Diaz at LW
It wasn’t a particurly exciting fight even though I think it actually got FOTN…it was basically Guida hugging him on the whole time. Pluz I think Diaz should stay at WW he’s looked impressive last 2 fights against decent WW and seems to have more power and energy at 170 even though he mentioned going to back to LW to rematch Maynard I think that would be a dumb move.

Diaz needs to stay at WW fighting at LW is plain out stupid
The lack of size is the only thing he has going against him right now if he were to bulk up and get to his bros size he would easly finish Marcus round 1 instead of round 3 that cut seriously hurts him it took Nick forever to realize that hopefully Nate comes to his senses alot sooner. Bulking up and fighting at 170=Nate possibly becoming a champ.

its not even that
its just that nate is known for being such a drasticly slow starter

Nate will never be champ at 170 as long as GSP is still breathing
I'm not paid to believe, I'm paid to fuck shit up
A slipping gear could let your M203 grenade launcher fire when you least expect it. That would make you quite unpopular in what's left of your unit.

i just wanna see gomi avenge his loss to bj now
and if he can start bj’s retirement party I would like to see gomi get his shot at the title
seeing penns performance was a big let down i could care less to see bj fight after gomi/penn 2
And Markus Davis is in the same league as GSP

Can you deny that nate Diaz sucks against wrestlers? Stevenson, Maynard and Guida all beat him… and they can’t finish. GSP can hump you all day but actually has the ability to finish.

Anyone else think
that Davis looked overly slow? That Saunders knee seemed like it fucked him up for good.
