UFC Fight Night 22: Is Nate Marquardt looking past Rousimar Palhares?

_okall_medium

Props: Fighters Only

Quoteworthy:

"Definitely if I can stay away from the ankle locks that is gonna be a plus and I think he is definitely disadvantaged in the standing fight so I think the more I can keep the fight standing the better. But there again I feel comfortable to go on the ground if need be, I have very good training partners on the ground and guys that are super-strong too, guys that are good at ankle-locks… I feel very confident going into this fight ... Rousimar is a very tough guy and very dangerous, I respect him. But sometimes it is tough to stay focused on this fight. Like you say, watching Chael and Anderson fight… I want to get back in there with both of those guys and show them that I am better than them."

Top ranked middleweight contender Nate Marquardt prepares to fend off the onslaught from muscular submission master Rousimar Palhares when they throw down at UFC Fight Night 22 on Sept. 15 in Austin. Nate is coming off a not-so-"Great" performance against Chael Sonnen earlier this year and also has a loss to division champion Anderson Silva. Marquardt is hoping to avenge those two losses but will "Toquinho" stop him from ever getting the chance?

i think Nate would beat Vitor up on the ground

DrewMoney$$$ is the man, I should have never challenged him to a sig bet. You know he started the Pick 'Em pool late and was forced to replace someone who quit and was far behind in last place his score doesn’t truly reflect how good his picks have been. He still has time to come back and is the obvious favorite for the next pool. By the way im picking the Detroit Lions to win the Superbowl the next 3 seasons in a row, and I would also pick Kimbo Slice to beat Fedor and Brock Lesnar any time. I love Kimbo Slice, he is MMA to me. Anyway DrewMoney$$$ is the man, don’t ever challenge him to a sig bet…

I should never have doubted the wisdom of David W-S or the talent of Junior Dos Santos…and screw Dana White

I think Okami should get Vitor

Just saying.

Anderson Silva will fall via brutal Republican dry-humping.

I don't think he "choked" in the Sonnen fight.

Sonnen beats him 10 out of 10 times! Maybe 9 out of 10

Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL

Damn! Lets try this again; That's why I changed it to 9 out of 10!

By that logic Sonnen wins the next 9 fights against Anderson.

BJ Penn is the biggest waste of talent in MMA history. Like usual, my pick was wrong and I blame a certain pudgy Hawaiin for my own short comings when it comes to talent selection. As it stands BZ – 3 Freenow82 – 1.

Nate didn’t choke on Chael..I think Chael has showed us that he is an awesome fighter.

yep, i believe its called

I don’t give a shit about the rules or my oponents future syndrome….I really want nate to make this guy give up…not likely tho..I think if nate wins it’ll be a decision, nothing against nate, paul harris just seems tough to finish

Activia; now with bullshitifus ridicularus

+1 sal

I really dont like Paul Harris. I think Nate busts him up on the feet, maybe a late takedown at then end of the rounds to secure the points win.

Look past upcoming opponents is the first step to lose a fight. Do it, Nate, but don’t cry aftermath.

Yup...........

He did it with the Sonnen fight……..in the pre fight hype all that was on his mind was Andy and Chael even commented about it. Rousimar is going to be taking home a limb for sure.
