Miesha Tate's arm is surely hurting like hell today following her submission loss to Ronda Rousey at last night's (March 3, 2012) Strikeforce event in Ohio but it's not all bad. She may have lost her women's bantamweight championship belt but she was crowned the winner of the one and only MMAmania.com sexiness battle. She beat out Rousey by a mere 33 votes. Judge Thomas Myers, who oversaw the proceedings, came in third. Here are the unofficial results:

Tate: 574 votes
Rousey: 541 votes
Judge Myers: 69 votes

Ronda Rousey breaks Miesha Tate's arm (GIF) at Strikeforce in Columbus, Ohio, last night (Sat., March 3, 2012). Amazingly enough, this was the second attempted armbar, as Tate escaped the first, though it looked as though her arm may have popped there as well. Miesha Tate speaks in depth about Ronda Rousey: “She is very controversial the way she markets herself. She gets people interested by saying things that pisses people off or makes people laugh. That is kind of her marketing standpoint and she is really disrespectful in a lot of ways which I am not a fan of. Personally I value this sport as a sport. I do understand it is entertainment, but you know, I have so much love and respect for it, and the athletes who do it, that I would never want to straight out disrespect someone or go out there and talk trash. Because I have the most respect for everyone who steps in the cage regardless. It takes a certain kind of person to do that and for her to say something like Georges St Pierre is not good for the sport just goes to show how new and ignorant she is to this whole thing. She kind of comes on with this miss know it all attitude. She thinks she knows everything about marketing and she is just very self entitled and she really talked herself into this title fight. It was more her mouth than anything else: more than her wins or skill set or whatnot, that really got her this spot. And I don’t agree with that. I don’t think she belongs here and I am going to do everything in my power to send her to the back of the line.”

Tate the Strikeforce bantamweight title holder also said about the March 3rd bout, ” I don’t think that Strikeforce expects me to win actually.”

MMAprime.tv spoke with Former StrikeForce 135lbs Female Champion and current #1 contender to face Miesha Tate for the 135lbs title, Sarah Kaufman. Kaufman is a Canadian born fighter with a record of 14 wins and only 1 defeat during her Mixed Martial Arts career, which came at the hands of former Champion Marloes Coenen. Kaufman already defeated Miesha Tate once in StrikeForce, but it was not a title fight. Now that Miesha has the title and Kaufman is the #1 contender, they are once again on a direct collision course. Sarah talks about when the fight could possibly happen and how they match up this time around.
Sarah also comments on Ronda Rousey recently announcing that she will move down to the 135lbs division and would like a title shot. Kaufman comments on Rousey and believes that she has in no way earned a title shot or a chance to be the number 1 contender just yet. Kaufman also discusses the state of female mixed martial arts and what will happen to female mixed martial arts if StrikeForce closes down. Lastly, Kaufman agrees to a rematch with Aaron Tru, having bested him in a controversial locker room fight after her bout with Marloes Coenen.
