'Bigfoot' Silva: 'Ranking Brock Lesnar as the world's number one heavyweight is crazy'

Quoteworthy:

"Lesnar had a hard time on the first round, but got the guy on the second. I think that if (Shane) Carwin had a little more conditioning, he would have got the win. I don’t believe that Brock Lesnar deserves to be considered the number one of the ranking because I think that, if Werdum beat the number one, the right thing would be for him to become the number one. How can you beat the number one and be considered number two? I think this ranking is kind of crazy sometimes… There’s no way of a guy fighting only six times and becoming the number one of the ranking. And what about the history Fedor made in MMA? Just because of one loss, now he’s number three and a guy with only six fights on his professional record is the number one. That’s crazy, man."

Strikeforce heavyweight Antonio Silva thinks it's a little early to anoint UFC Champion Brock Lesnar king of the heavyweights simply because he's only had six fights to prove it. "Bigfoot" alludes to the former top ranking of Fedor Emelianenko and his belief that Fabricio Werdum should claim the top spot for his victory over "The Last Emperor." Anyone besides Nostradumbass think that Lesnar has more to prove before he can call himself the top fighter in his division? Or do wins over Mir, Couture and Carwin speak for themselves? Opinions please.

Hey Bigfoot

There’s a reason Werdum aint number one, the guy laboured to a points win over you ya big oaf and also got KTFO by JDS.

When you’ve actually beaten a top ranked opponent then you can start having an opinion on Lesnar you overgrown can crusher.

True..

But Bigfoot isn’t exactly as good as he thinks, and neither was Fedor, most guys in Strikeforce beat cans to built themselves up and when they lose they think that they were’nt exposed..

For what profit is it to man if he gains the world , and loses his own soul?

I agree, Dice.

Bigfoot is much better than people (or judges) give him credit for.

If Werdum beats Fedor again then maybe but to many think it was just one of those nights like Serra and GSP.

Rankings are not 100% and this is Bigfoots opinion as ranking fighters with little to compare to competition wise is mostly opinion. Rankings change all the time even in the same division as really they are just a guage that is never 100% accurate. I would like to see Bigfoot in the UFC and if Fedor does not face Overeem maybe a Overeem Bigfoot match?
