WEC 50 weigh in results LIVE from Las Vegas for 'Cruz vs Benavidez'

Wec-42-weight_medium

The official weigh in event for WEC 50: "Cruz vs. Benavidez" is in the books. The last of the formalities before tomorrow night's mixed martial arts extravaganza went down earlier today from "The Pearl" at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Things went smoothly as each of the twenty fighters scheduled for action hit their respective weights without incident.

Newly crowned 135 pound champion Dominick Cruz is set to defend his title for the first time ever in the night's featured bout against team Alpha Male product Joseph Benavidez in a rematch of their war from WEC 42 last summer.

Shane Roller, Anthony Pettis, Scott Jorgensen, Bart Palaszewski, Cub Swanson, and several other WEC stars will be in action on the card as well.

Check out the complete "Cruz vs. Benavidez" weigh-in results and live feed after the jump:

i couldnt find it on the Score here at all on my guide

And its always on my guide, whether its UFC or SF or Dream or Wec. Some of the WEC’s just simply don’t come here and no one will pick up the Vs feed for the event this time it seems. We’ll get a rerun this week sometime. Yay…. Assholes.

If anyone knows otherwise for sure please let me know.

It’s high time for these fighters to be rolled into the UFC:
1) WEC has too much of the Affliction shuffle.
2) The stars of the WEC deserve to start making UFC money.
3) Once the stars of WEC become mainstream stars, they’ll help prevent some of the thin card streaks that we get now and then.
4) The WEC would probably be more successful as the UFC’s B division than trying to be the big dog in the world of little fighters. Rather than cutting guys like MacDonald, Alexander, Kimbo, Leites, Jardine, etc. use them to give WEC shows some much needed mainstream name recognition. Either that or just get rid of the WEC entirely. My understanding was that they wanted to keep the WEC because of the deal with Versus. Now that UFC is on Versus, the WEC no longer serves that purpose.

I like your idea of using it to replace TUF. It’d be great WEC would keep TUF’s idea of having a tournament to decide who moves on to the UFC (just no reality element and fights broadcast live) . Having these tournaments in lieu of champions is a good idea for a few reasons: The championship titles would be quite meaningless in the face of UFC titles and they would be continually vacated by fighters moving on to the UFC. But you can’t just have random meaningless fights. A lot of fight fans need at least some of the fights to have a clear and well-defined goal. I think tournaments would fulfill that need quite well.

When is Scott Jorgensen going to get his title Shot...

I love that guy. Solid chin, stand up, gorund game, and tons of heart….

Did Jorgensen cut off a leg? 136 pounds for a 155 fight? lol.
