MMA Quick Quote: Tim Sylvia planning to submit Pedro Rizzo in first PWP title defense
"I was supposed to fight Pedro (Rizzo) first but he had other fight obligations so Paul (Buentello) stepped in and stepped up to the task. We were expecting Pedro the first time, it didn't happen, so now we'll get ready for him, bring in some good kickboxers. Maybe [I'll] take him down to the ground and submit him."
Newly minted PWP Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia tells Karyn Bryant that he's now getting ready to defend his strap against another former UFC division kingpin when Pedro Rizzo tries to flatten the "Maine-iac" later this year. The New England native stopped Paul Buentello at the Aug. 14 "War on the Mainland" pay-per-view for his third straight win since the Ray Mercer incident back in June 2009. Is Sylvia officially "back?" Or just here temporarily until he defends against the hard-hitting Brazilian -- also the winner of three straight?

Submission via white??? Smothering under your enormous gut!
Get real poopy. You’ll employ the same horrible tactics you always do, just leaning against the cage/ropes using your enormous bulk to wear down your opponent.
Hey poop pants just got his blue belt almost
six months ago. We might see him chaining crazy subs together to tap to rock.

Would anyone agree w/ this statement?
Tim Sylvia is a UFC level fighter. Right now, he’s a top 10 heavyweight.

lmfao
the guy hasnt even fought at heavyweight for 2 years so that statement couldnt be more wrong
The Red Wings will come back stronger
RESTORE THE ROAR 2010 Detroit Lions
Good for Tim
not many guys find life after the UFC nor do they get headline roles consitantly as he has.
my top ten is
1.Brock Lesnar’
2.Shane Carwin
3.Fedor
4.Cain Velasquez
5.Alistair Overeem
6.Junior Dos Santos
7.Fabricio Werdum
8.Roy Nelson
9.Frank Mir
10.Antonio Silva
Timmay is top 15 still tho IMO
Yea, HW is still relatively barren.
Though there was this infusion of big time guys enough people have fallen out to bring it back to what it was.

Also where is Big Nog?
how can you have Big foot or Roy in there when they still do not have a single top 10 win on their fight resume?

Timmah was top 3 when he got him though it was in 08.
Still I just don’t like the idea of fighters being ranked when they’ve never beaten ranked fighters.

i appreciate that mate
but when you make statements like "i know of his (Big Nogs)pride resume, very impressive but, you can oly rest on laurels for so long..I.E. Fedor ", then still have Fedor at number three, then you’re asking to be shot at.
It's pretty good and it kind of makes sense
because really the only people who might be interchangeable are AA, Barnett or Big Nog and they’ve been on the decline a little.

Well Megareem smashed on Buck Rogers
who was #8 after beating up AA. So that can be justified. But Roy or Silva though is a little more difficult. IMO they are very solid top 15 guys.

Thats true everyone has a top 10 in their head and swear to God, baby Jesus and allah that theirs is the correct list. Just sit back nod and say your right. keeps them all happy
I've got something to say; it better to burn in hell than to fade away!!!
Punisher, I love your top 10! As I'm reading it I'm like, "I agree, I agree, I agree, ......" Never agreed with eveyone of anyones top ten before! Good job
Anderson Silva is by far the number one P4P king!!! Even when he is losing a fight he still comes back and finishes for the win! GSP dominates the whole fight and still can't finish! LOL
But, if I had to change just one; I would move Fedor to 7 and the rest up one spot! LOL

my opinion on Fedor is this
He’s an undersized hw taking on some good heavyweights, brock is an oversized heavyweight taking on some elite talent. The fact in this sport the difference between a loss and a win is so close, its funny. Fedot fought and beat the best heavyweights in Pride for years and now in the past 3-4 years has fought decent guys. If Brock can do what hes done for years then my god hes the greatest. I just give Fedor the benefit of the doubt that he could knock alot of em off. thanks for the praise, i just thought the kongo’s,gonzagas, struves and duffees are behind big foot.
Rizzo looked terribly slow versus Shamrock. I think Tim Sylvia takes it.
"No one wants to be defeated" Michael Jackson on MMA fights
''A man is not finished when he's defeated; he's finished when he quits'' Richard M. Nixon on Fedor's loss
still kicks like machine
The sad thing is his record in title fights is sad, the worst stat IMO in sports. I take timmay coming in lighter and pounding rizzo then a rear naked choke.

Was he lighter at all for this last fight?
Cause I think Tim’s just done; he’s just fighting for a paycheck right now imo..

Tim is a case
Tim was the kid who got picked on in high school and early on in his career by the miletich boys. He proved all his doubters wrong by winning the belt, by beating arlovski. His career got off track by loosing to Couture at UFC 68. here was this champion who felt like a beast, had gained all the self confidence he had ruined. Tim Sylvia like it or not was a dominant heavyweight and has been a UFC HOF imo and i dont even care about him really. He will show up to the title defence at 268lbs and beat rizzo
