The official fighter purses for those who competed at the UFC 117: "Silva vs. Sonnen" Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010, from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., were released earlier today and passed along by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC).
As expected, UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva was among the top earners of the night, bringing home a cool $200,000 for his dramatic come-from-behind victory over Chael Sonnen in the waning minutes of the fifth and final round. Not to be outdone, former welterweight champion Matt Hughes matched the "Spider" in base pay for his surprise submission over Brazilian jiu-jitsu stylist, Ricardo Almeida.
Jon Fitch and Junior dos Santos didn't do too shabby either, pocketing $108,000 and $80,000, respectively, in their winning number one contender eliminator matches.

Keep in mind the salaries listed above do not include fight bonuses, sponsorships, percentages and other unofficial payments. It also does not include deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes, etc.

He sold that fight SINGLEHANDEDLY. Most people I know swore they’d never buy another Silva fight after that Maia debacle. Chael’s smack talking got this thing into the mainstream media and drew the vast majority of the viewers. Then on top of that, he made good on his smack. They should take half of Andy’s pay and give it to Chael. All Silva did was lay on his back for 23 minutes and didn’t lift a finger to promote the fight.

the better you perform the more money u should make so money should be totally based on performance, like in poker. main event winner/loser should always make a certain amount of $$, main card winner/losers a certain amount of $$, undercard , spike tv/versus and so on..

the judges obviously judge the performance by deciding a winner/loser/draw.
the ufc sets the schedule based on just that, results. not problematic at all, very basic and more fair to the fighters. there needs to be 100% more objectivity in the ufc and more focus on results. any fighter who loses a title fight on a ppv deserves a standard pay for just that.

While Fitch does annoy me by not even attempting strikes or subs, in cases like Sonnen/GSP/Hughes/Guida…the guy on the top is working and the stalling is happening from the bottom. The guy on the bottom knows if he can stall, he gets rewarded by getting a free standup. So the rules ENCOURAGE STALLING by giving him a free out, instead of encouraging him to take a chance and try to escape/reverse/sub-attempt. People always bitch about GnP fighters stalling, but it’s the guys on the bottom who are just laying there trying to hold the guy on top of them so he can’t hit them, instead of trying to get back to their feet. That’s what Silva did for 90% of his fight with Sonnen. He tried to tie him up (unsuccessfully) and get a free stand-up. You could even see him looking at the referee expecting the ref to save him! That’s the problem with the rules. It encourages standup fighters NOT to train to escape or scramble or reverse, but to simply train to tie up their opponent’s arms and stall till the Ref rescues them and gives them a “get out of hell free” card.

i like your thinking but since your name is brockness monster you need to watch the interview he gave
to the ufc after his wwe days were over. he said he was living a dirty life. Nelson’s fight at TUF heavyweights finale was 8k to show and 8k to win. Not sure what his salary was at Florian vs Gomi Fight Night but I’m assuming it was 15k to show and 15k to win.
I would assume that its 6-figures when everything is added up.
