UFC Fan Expo 'London' announced for Earls Court Oct. 15-16

Dana White is bringing a little something extra to the UFC 120 event when he travels across the pond for the promotion's return to London, England, which is scheduled for the O2 Arena on Oct. 16, 2010.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today announced that it will coordinate a two-day "Fan Expo" at the nearby Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London, England, from Oct. 15 right up until fight time to coincide with the Spike TV event

Here's what the cage boss had to say about his big plans:

"I am excited to bring a UFC Fan Expo to our incredible fans in Europe. People have been asking me about an International Expo ever since we held our first one at UFC 100, and now they have it – they’re getting two days of the best fan experience in all of sports, and on top of that an incredible fight card featuring Michael Bisping vs. Akiyama."

That "experience" includes meet and greets with legendary UFC, Pride FC and WEC fighters, mixed martial arts (MMA) demonstrations, grappling "Super Fights," fan-inspired special events, training and development sessions, as well as other combat related opportunities and entertainment.

Star-divide

Additionally, the fourth UFC Fan Expo, which is the second to be staged outside of "Sin City," is expected to attract more than "150 leading vendors covering roughly 200,000 gross square feet of space."

According the the release, the exhibit floor will also "feature apparel, electronic gaming, food & beverages, fight gear, fitness equipment and supplies, nutritional supplements, lifestyle products and much more."

Oh, and by the way, there are also some huge fights taking place that weekend.

Leading the charge of Britain's best butt-kickers will be Michael "The Count" Bisping in a hard-hitting middleweight battle against Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama in the main event of the evening.

Joining them will be Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy as he tries to fight his way back into 170-pound title contention against Carlos "Natural Born Killer" Condit in the co-featured fight of the night.

Sounds like a blast.

an incredible card dana? really?

I really feel bad for you folks on that side of the big pond that want to go to live events…people want great cards, not just fighters from their country, its downright absurd..bisping as a headliner…eff that

Yet another of Dana's lies

Incredible fight card, dear me how can anyone take anything that he says seriously when he comes out with stupid comments like that.

As for the expo I may make the trip but I want to know who is actually going to show up first, if the lineup is as poor as the 120 card then I won’t bother making the effort.

the only bright side is

With a card that sad, the lineup at the expo can’t possibly be worse…or perhaps it can.

I wasn't too pushed to travel

Due to the costs and what not. But the expo has made me think twice now. How much are the expos can anyone tell me?

Pound sterling is the English currency

Quid is slang for pounds just as bucks are for dollars. The euro is the currency for the majority of EU member countries including Ireland.

Just sweetening the deal of a shite card

Id rather have this weekends fight night card than the 120 card! I cant justify spending £100 for a ticket plus the couple of hundred quid travel and hotel costs for a main event that consists of someone who just lost to Chris Leben.

Earls Court - West London, O2 Arena - East London

Great planning there UFC. Anyone wishing to do both on saturday is faced with a 90 minute tube journey across the capital. Real good forward thinking there.

DO NOT BE CONNED PEOPLE. Just coz this fan expo’s showing up in town do not be conned into buying a ticket for this atroscious fight card. You have to vote with your feet and show Dana we want better quality cards here!!!

Have to agree with you, UK fans are getting screwed

First with Couture/Vera, and now Bisping/Sexy. The Bisping fight is a nice co-main event, and Hardy/Condit looks really interesting, but this card is really lacking a quality main event. UK fans are crazy about MMA but keep getting screwed with crap cards. I say go to the expo (the Vegas expo was CRAZY), but don’t buy a ticket for this crap card.
