WARRRR WANDERLEI!

Maybe number 1 contender? But not the belt.

Conan : You are known as a striker. Is that correct? Tell me what that means.
Chuck : Well I like to punch people, or kick them.

sad but true.

Love him but, I have this to say in response in my Peter Griffin voice:

“C’monnnnn”.

really enjoyed this. I just had ankle surgery, so I could really relate. I woke up from the anesthesia and felt really emotional, so Wandy may be going through that in some parts of the video.

Will always cheer for Wandy vs. anybody!

This is his final run though at the belt he needs to win one or two more in a row. It would be a dream to see him holding the UFC MW belt but with Silva in the picture it looks grim but none the less would be a very exciting fight one I would try and get tickets to watch live.

I think the only person i rooted against wand was the Franklin fight and even then it was more rooting for rich than against wand

Wand fighting for the title would be awesome! He’ll never hold a UFC strap tho.

I would pick Wandy over any but you could be right.

I think at the very least Wandy would put up a great fight agaisnt any of the names you listed.

he'll certainly always bring the fight, no denying that

But who could see him beating AS? But guess that’s really not the point, as I don’t see anyone touching Spider so.

Either do I worby

But Wandy has the warrior spirit that can make the near impossible possible and if the fight was too happen I would be cheering my heart out for the greatest MMA fighter ever! Wins and losses do not give Wandy the credit he deserves the battles he has been in are the greatest of any fighter in MMA history.

agreed. vitor is a flavor of the month

And he’s dragging it out by getting injured. Trying to keep the name relevant. I give Sonnen little to no chance.

I give Vitor less then that.

Especially if he fights Andy next without a tune up fight, and no fights at 185 since his return.

You don’t fight the Champ with no previous 185 bouts in UFC in years.

Yeah I agree too

Belfort is exciting to many though becasue he’s a stand up artist and he is one of the few that has a small chance at standing with Silva and the speed to catch Silva. I would give Belfort close to 30% standing? Belfort & Wandy would be a wicked fight!?

A UFC title in what division? It’s not going to happen in 205lbs. and I pretty much doubt that it will happen in the 185lbs. That is all.

Man, its not often that you see a fighter of Wands calibur show his emotions and tear up on video like that at the 4:25 mark. Im sure that was a important and special moment for him in his life.

Wanderlie is always and forever going to be the most popular MMA fighter in history!!!

It looked like he was having knee surgery.

Does anyone know what he was having done? Looks like the same one I had a couple years ago.

Wanderlie is loved but way overrated through out history

He is a loved fighter but way overrated in the mma world. Even in the early 2000’s he was way overrated. He has beat 2 guys that when they fought were in the top ten. Dan Henderson and Ricardo Arona. Henderson got revenge and Arona should have won both fights. Other fights he has won are Sakaraba which means nothing, Rampage before he became any good. Jardine and Bisping. He has always brought it when he came to ring. I will give him that. But he has also mostly beat cans. Even tito beat him. And that was in his prime. People said it was because he fought Mirko that made him go downhill. Mirko was to big for him. He actually outweighed Mirko in that fight.

Oh god

Now we’re dissecting Wand and his opponents? Just give it a rest for a bit.

Let me guess.

A little 20 year old keyboard warrior. Oh and I am sure you go to some gym to train mma so you will fill good about yourself. But I also bet that everyday you look in the mirror, you think that you a worthless. You know this because no matter what you do, you never be good enough and nobody will like you. ( I am sure they will tell you to your face they like you, while they crack jokes behind your back.) You probably have only slept with one girl and she was probably drunk at the time. All this anger you have towards yourself and you only could come up with suck a dick. That is week. You didnt even called me a fag or ask me to go die. Keep trying, keep training, and keep getting girls drunk. One day you will look in the mirror and say I have made it. I moved up one level from shit bag to loser. Truth is you will be sad again. You know deep dawn this is as high up as you will make it. A loser for the rest of you life.

by lance2576 on Jul 29, 2010 11:47 PM EDT up reply actions

As childish as it is to write "hey fag! suck a dick!!!!!!!!"

Its even more pathetic to write a whole paragraph like you did..

And really man why bother dissecting wandy’s career? Nobody say’s wandy is the best fighter ever.. He’s a warrior and a great man. end of story.

by Red Eye Jedi on Jul 30, 2010 12:01 AM EDT up reply actions

Maybe so.

I was childish, I will admit. It was kinda fun. It has been years. I can kinda see where these keyboard warriors get off. (not really but it was a little fun)

In my first statement, I said I will give him one, he always brought it. He did. He did. But so does a lot of fighters. The one things he does really good. Is have a good relationship with the fans. He is nice to fans. And like I said he is a loved fighter. I enjoy watching him for that reason. I just also know he is never been that good. I also know for a fact , He can beat my ass.

by lance2576 on Jul 30, 2010 12:24 AM EDT up reply actions

Its all good man..

we all have our moments….

But i do think your writing wandy off a lil bit. Not many people would say he was never very good.

You cant just write off his wins over jackson, specially 2 dominating wins… Before he even fought wandy, rampage had already beat chuck liddel in pride. So rampage was deff a good fighter at that point. Wandy was just better.

He gave henderson his 1st loss, in what was a great fight.. And at that point hendo was coming of wins vs babalu and big nog…. Hard to discredit that one

Sakuraba was another good fighter he dominated 3 times, its hard to beat any fighter 3 times(specially if your not very good).. Sakurabu has beaten vitor, rampage and a number of other talented fighters…

IMO he was a great fighter for his time… His aggression and will to win along with his muay thai and bjj skills made him a bad match up for almost anyone.

And the fact he’s a great man that’s dedicated to his family and his fans… Well ill say this.. Its easy being a wanderlei fan

Even his losses were great battles!

The aggression he fought with and ability to win with being so aggressive is rare in MMA. There are very few boring Wandy fights and without a doubt the most action packed career in MMA ever. Wins and losses do not give Wandy the credit he deserves, the battles he was in are why Wandy is one of the greatest fighters in MMA history.
