Chael is the one coming off bad cause that’s what will most likely happen. He doesn’t fight as well as he talks.
Anderson Silva haters will be back on his nuts after he gets another amazing KO just like when he embarrassed Forrest like nobody else could. GSP can't even finish people in his own weight division. The only time Andy goes the distance is against a so, so fighter who he either isn't motivated to fight or just toys with them. Get a top fighter in there and watch him get destroyed within 2 rounds. He's bored at MW, get him to LHW so he can take that belt too and let's watch GSP be brave enough to take a fight at MW.
Lesnar isn't the most skilled fighter but until somebody beats him he is the #1 HW in the world. It's obviously not Fedor and sure as hell isn't Werdum!

I’ve eaten about 38,000 eggs in the last 19 years, and that’s actually a conservative count.
I eat 5 egg salad sandwiches a day during the work week (8 eggs a day), and have scrambled eggs for breakfast (3 each morning) most weekends.

What has he done to show he can even compete with Anderson.
If completely schooling two number one contenders one of whom everyone was crying about deserving a second title shot, and believing he might be able to put up a decent fight the second time around, doesn’t make you think he is capable of competing against Anderson, then nothing will. Sonnen performances against Okami and Nate were much more impressive than some of the Silva fights i’ve seen.
After Anderson Silva humiliates Chael everybody will forget about him
and we’ll all just move on.

The style that fits Silva is a guy with sub-par striking skills that wades in and tries to strike with him. I don’t think Sonnen will do that.
I think he will screw around just as much as Silva, and try to force Anderson to bring the fight. It could wind up being a huge bore fest, but I think Sonnen will come in and try to fight smart and play to his strengths, instead of Anderson’s.

If Sonnen does what he says, bring the fight to Silva, he'll get ko'd
sonnen has sub-par striking, but he will need to strike with him, even if only for a short time. he cant just shoot-in for a takedown from the get-go.
the only reason the other guys (Leites, Maia) lasted so long was b/c they weren’t aggressive. I can see Sonnen gettin’ scared after he realizes what he got himself into.

His whole selling point is that he’s gonna take it to Anderson and make him fight, and many ppl are jumping on the wagon. If he doesnt do it and gets beat up, im sure he’s gonna lose his fans, never get another title shot (along with Leites and Maia), and have to hold his head down in shame for talkin all this bull.

In reality Anderson has only lost 3 fights. (I don’t count Okami)
2 of those 3 where via submission. Even Lutter was able to mount him, and put him in trouble for a bit. Add all of that to the fact that he never pulled the trigger against Leites and Maia, and I believe that Anderson is not very fond of fighting true BJJ experts. Sonnen is a wrestler, and since Anderson didn’t show any hesitation against Hendo, I can’t see him having any problems attacking Sonnen, who doesn;t have any KO power for Silva to even think about.

Anderson Silva is arguably one of the best p4p fighters today
and yet he gets in the octagon and puts in half-assed efforts.
That’s the thing I have a problem with. He’s only doing enough to get by. I guess that’s his prerogative, but it’s not going to cause me to be a fan.
If it’s good enough for you, fine. I’m not condemning you for it just because I don’t like it, and by the same token, you shouldn’t be condemning me or anybody else for not liking it.

If you think about it, I bet Dana made a promise to Sonnen to some how get Silva to fight to his potential, which Silva hasn’t done in about 4-5 fights. Think about it, Dana gives Sonnen an extra $50k to ensure Silva fights like he did against Hendo, Franklin, etc. Otherwise, if he has a bad showing, it hurts the UFC since one of the best fighers they have, and one of the best fighters in MMA keeps fighting in a way that everyone hates.
I think Silva is amazing, and at the same level with his skills as MJ and Tiger. This head movement, foot work, use of angles and accuracy is off the chart. He has a great takedown defense, and is solid on the ground (choked out Hendo).
Now hopefully he will be worth watching this weekend and in the future. If not, then Sonnen didn’t talk enough trash to piss off Silva to make him actually fight!

being solid on the ground. I do think he has skills on the ground, but the sub on Hendo wasn’t a spectacular display of skill. Dan actually looked good in the first round, but evidently had shot his wad and was therefore vulnerable.

That was a solid win. Lutter had him mounted, and he found his way out of it. Lutter and Marquardt were top ranked at the time of those respective fights, and they were both thought to be the top ground guys at 185 when the fights took place.

Lutter was ranked #3 at them time, and at the time had one of the best ground games. The issue with comparing fighters and making these pound for pound claims is most peoples views are objective and not subjective. Yea Lutter is not a factor now, but 3 years ago he was one of the top 3 in the division.
It’s like saying Fedor couldn’t lose to Werdum 3-4 years ago, because Werdum wasn’t at his peak then, and maybe he is there now. Well Lutter was at his peak when he fought Silva.
I’m not nut huggin’, but you guys show very little understanding and don’t take the timing of fights and opponents when fights happened into play, you are always basing things on current events.
It’s like saying Franklin or Liddel could never be dominant champions now, but 3-4 years ago they were the biggest names in MMA, and looked awesome given the wins they had and how they performed.

Yes at the time Lutter was #3, why else would he have even gotten a title shot. Look up Silva’s record, it hasn’t been until recently that he even went the distance with anyone. Then the UFC learned he can beat almost anyone standing, so they started throwing grapplers at him, trying to find people who can challenge him. Even though his last 3 of 4 fights have sucked, he still has only been really challenged by Hendo, Lutter and Maia, but only for a round or two, or parts of a round when combining all of his fights.
Silva by TKO in the second round! That is if he actually comes to fight. If not, it will be another stupid sideshow where we don’t get to see just how good he really is, which everyone seems to forget.

Fedor has some major technical shortcomings, but has always managed to win except once (not counting the cut stoppage).
But to claim he is better than GSP is dubious, at best. They both possess fantastic skills, and if they were naturally in the same weight class, I think the fight would be a toss up.

GSP only brings out what he needs for each fight to win. Anderson pretty much does the same thing, but that usually constitutes counterstriking.

I'm not saying that AS doesn't have better jits than GSP
But a lot of jits depends on positioning and transitions. GSP would be the better grappler and better at gaining advantageous positions.

Sonnen hasn’t beat anyone really worth much. Nate is almost a gatekeeper for the division, Okami is in the middle of the pack at best, Miller is just coming up and is on his way out of the UFC with 3 losses in a row. He lost to Horn, which sent him down to the WEC, and lost to Maia.
Silva will beat Sonnen if Silva comes to fight like he use to a couple of years ago. Let’s be honest, most of us would rather see Vitor fight Andy, but injuries put that fight off for a while. The only other guy in the division that would be worth having Andy fight would be Okami, but Okami is perfect for Andy’s counter striking.
After this fight, and a possible fight with Belfort, who else in the division can even be ranked enough to warrant a title shot?
Nate is a gatekeeper? How? Sonnen got a title shot by beating him.
And Okami is “middle of the pack at best”? but yet you also say “The only other guy in the division that would be worth having Andy fight would be Okami,”
