You Will All be Surprised Then By Jardines BJJ

I respect BJJ...
But most “good” wrestlers nullify the BJJ… Prangley is a world class wrestler hands down

I don't think Prangley will give Jardine as problems as Bader did or Hammil
Bader is a bigger stronger wrestler and Jardine was able to keep it standing and he had a good tilt with Hamill both fighters I think would destroy Prangley?
"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth - Mike Tyson
I dont know about that
Prangley is pretty underrated in my opinion. He is pretty much an all out wrestler, but he uses it efficiently

It's hard to say 100% either way
Prangley’s competition is no were near Jardines in my opinion and he’s very one diminsional like you said. It will come down to if he can he make this a grappling fight? I would say no but Jardine is not a fighter I would bet much on either.
"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth - Mike Tyson
I hear what you are saying for sure
But Prangley stick to his wrestling pretty much always. He doesnt try to stand and bang hardly ever

I did say "most"
I can name numerous fights where the wrestler just used his wrestling to nullify the opponents bjj

sonnen s about the worst example, he admittedly doesnt even train BJJ….which i can actually believe

Plus, it was like the easiest example to use
What about:
Hughes vs. Gracie
Penn vs. GSP
Anybody vs. GSP for that matter
It does depend on the fighter for sure… Im just saying that it is common for wrestlers to nullify bjj fighters’ bjj skills

Hughes vs 40 year old past his prime Gracie
Great example.
GSP is a somewhat better example, but overall he is just bigger and better than Penn.

This is very good for a small promotion
I grew up a wrestling fan in all honesty, when you see the fall-out when WCW died or when Pride died you saw the sport get hurt in a degree. For a small promotion to be able to afford a line-up of big name (lesser talented) guys you have to praise. In MMA the fight is whats excited and these guys have had some exciting brawls. This is far better then Impact FC 2 and i am pumped for the sokodju vs. houston becuase they both are such reckless guys who hit or miss.
Official Shark Fights 13 Line Up:
Main Card:
1. Keith Jardine vs. Trevor Prangley (205lbs)-Jardine by TKO
2. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Houston Alexander (205lbs)-Sokodjou by KO
3. Paul Daley vs. TBA (170lbs)-Daley by KO…doesnt matter who!
4. Joey Villasanor vs. Drew McFredries (185lbs)-Villasanor by Sub
5. Another high-profile fight to be announced next week!
I saw somewhere that Brock Larson will also be fighting. Definitely a nice little card. Sokodjou/Alexander is intriguing.

Yeah there is no way that fight makes it out of the first round.
Soko should be the favorite but he always tends to shit the bed in a tough fight.

Yeah, they aren’t the best examples of cardio that’s for sure. I think Soko will take him though. After seeing Kimbo toss Houston like he was his little brother…I hope to see the first KO by hip toss lol.
by HappyLittleTreez on Jul 28, 2010 4:45 PM EDT up reply actions
lol agreed
Then again i think Houston was tired at that catchweight. Soko is a good athelet and very talented but, is very awful in fights 9 out 10 times. He reminds me of Tiki Gleison(sp?) that alot of people spoke highly of him but, in fights a different Tiki showed up.
Yeah I forgot he's some Judo blackbelt isn't he?

Soko,
But all that went out the window when Mousasi cracked him, he hip tossed him to the mat and finished him.

I like everything
except the WCW mentions. I hate wrasslin. To each there own though. This is a solid card. They are putting on fights as opposed to circus acts. Props.
"We fight, get beat, rise, and fight again."
Agreed!
Can they afford to do it again after this one? Seems strange a newcomer is able to bring in this many names without us hearing about a big backer with deep pockets.
Is this going to be on PPV? What price point? Most of the names on here are 10/10 to 30/30 guys. That’s alot of scratch for a new promotion.

Yea
Unless some guys took a slight pay cut to be featured on a highly touted show, this thing could gain some momentum.

this is a great card. They have to have some coin to have attracted these guys.

lol just drawin the comparison lol
Even the undercard has some nice additions like Pete Sell, Dave Hernan and Larson. I wonder IF PPV or HDNET will attempt to get the rights? hope so.
this thing has to be on PPV
I mean, it would be great if it was HDnet and free (kinda), but it is worthy of a PPV. If you can put Timmay on a PPV you better be able to sell these guys. You have 3 UFC guys who are having their first fight outside of the UFC. I have to imagine these guys will come out with a fire under their asses. Plus I am a big fan of Joey and Soku Houston should be a really fun fight.

"you stupid cow"!
I like the feeling of hunting down what I feed my family. If there’s a beast out there capable of hunting down Brock Lesnar, he would do it and make me the trophy on his den wall. Is this event..
sponsored by 7-11?
Undisputed Sig Bet Champion on the TitoOrtiz/Fight Pros forums!!
BJ Penn, best P4P fighter on the planet. I'll still stand by that all day long, bitches.
Always have respected Shogun Rua.
Chael Sonnen, savior of the UFC MW division.
R.I.P. Dime and Ryan Gracie.
Hers an idea for Daleys opponent
Option1). If they cannot find a name opponent for Daley why not have him face Brock Larson at 17olbs?. Larson, is a good wrestler but, isnt near GSP or Kos by any means but, is a wrestler. This would display where he is so far in learning TD defense and if TD how to get back up.
Option 2.) Why not get Karo Parisyan?, the man knows Judo which isn’t wrestling but, is a sport of throws and takedowns. Its also a game opponent who would be up for the challenge.
Sweet card
They should put whitemare or cyborg vs Daley that would make this shit fucken fantastic! All these fights have the potential to be great battles or brutal KOs(main card).
If you dont like drugs then dont do them.....give them to me!
