Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) legend Randy "The Natural" Couture will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Oakland A’s vs. Texas Rangers 1:10 p.m. game on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010.
First pitch is set for 12:55 pm and will be caught by A’s first baseman and die-hard UFC fan, Daric Barton.
Couture, a three-time former heavyweight champion and two-time light-heavyweight champion, is the only five-time champion in UFC history. He is also the only athlete in UFC history to win a championship after becoming a Hall of Fame member and one of only two men to win UFC titles in two weight classes.
At 47 years old, Couture is still one of the top fighters in the sport today. Couture is town promoting UFC 117: "Silva vs. Sonnen" held that night at Oracle Arena. His next fight is scheduled for Aug. 28 when he takes on boxing legend James Toney at UFC 118: "Edgar vs. Penn 2" at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass.

baseball is extremely slow and boring.
I just played MLS on my fm 2010, no wonder that league sucks so bad, their business model is so americanized it’s not like all other leagues around the world, the salary cap is a terrible idea for MLS to use. I barely even understand how they do things over there and most players gets payed like crap from what i’ve seen..

i do believe that james tony has a little more than a snowballs chance in hell of beating couture who’s got way more ways to beat tony than tony has to beat him. Not only that he’s smart enough to stay away from trying to actually strike with tony.
however tony beating randy wouldn’t imo really hurt mma or the ufc at all. First off if randy ever did lose the majority of the non hardcore audience would just be thinking “well james tony just beat a 48 year old man” and i’d be hoping thay tony winning would bring over some other good amateur boxers to the sport (i doubt many highly touted pros are going to come over just because of the pay) and a lot of those amateurs prob wont make a splash at all in the ufc but you might get 1 or 2 gems.
