Diaz got pretty beat in the UFC, than beat another UFC wash out in Scott Smith, then a washed up Frank Shamrock and an overrated Žaromskis, and a few decent names in decentish, but generally underweight guys in Dream.
I think Mayhem and him match up well, and they are both in the same level right now, especially given the limited selections available to Strikeforce.

You mention the people that Diaz beat, and then try to denounce them. I notice that you don’t mention anyone that Mayhem beat? That would be because Miller hasn’t beaten anyone of consequence.

Mayhem has had 2 close fights with Jacare (Who is one of the best outside of the UFC IMO) Beaten Tim Kennedy and Robbie Lawlor.
He’s acquitted himself well in all his fights I’ve seen, I think Diaz is another tough match for him, but Diaz isn’t ‘too good for him’ is what I was trying to establish.

Anderson Silva haters will be back on his nuts after he gets another amazing KO just like when he embarrassed Forrest like nobody else could. GSP can't even finish people in his own weight division. The only time Andy goes the distance is against a so, so fighter who he either isn't motivated to fight or just toys with them. Get a top fighter in there and watch him get destroyed within 2 rounds. He's bored at MW, get him to LHW so he can take that belt too and let's watch GSP be brave enough to take a fight at MW.

I could go into an psychoanalysis of Nick Diaz, and discuss his problems to be of pathologic origin when such a response does not realistically reflect a person’s actual circumstances. However, expressions of anger vary widely in different individuals and cultures and may be considered functional under certain controlled circumstances. In this case, Nick DIaz’ anger was not functional and instead stemmed from a regression into a passed time where Nick would use these “survival techniques” out of the need to actually survive (ie an actual danger of self harm). I can further explain my theory in the form of a short novel if you wish. Hope this clears things up for you.

But the only time anyone was in danger of being finished was when Mayhem almost choked Shields out.
While no one can question Shields positional dominance, it does sort of tarnish his win that the bell saved him from being subbed when he’s a ‘submission specialist’.

Diaz was not Mauled by KJ noons. Everyone always brings that fight up when trying to talk trash about Diaz. That fight was stopped because of doctor stoppage. Nick could see clearly and was not dazed, hurt or knocked down during the entire fight. EVERYONE knows that Diaz gets cut easy. How does that equal out to getting mauied?
Miller would get destroyed by Diaz IMO. Diaz has better jiu-jitsu and striking. Even if Miller connected Diaz has a granite chin. Miller does not have the tools to beat Diaz. It is easy to hate Nick Diaz because of his attitude, but his skills as a fighter speak for themselves.

It would be a good fight. I would give the slight edge to Diaz. I personally think Nick is way overrated. I do not think he could contend in the UFC. He may be better now than he was in the UFC but he has not fought anyone. The guys he lost to in the UFC have gotten better as well and I still do not think he would beat them. Maybe he could beat Joe riggs but he has been cut from the UFC. His best win is over robbie lawlor.

Matchup wise, neither is a great wrestler, both have pretty good stand up, and Diaz has great submissions, while Miller has great Sub defense. Both have good cardio and are tough. Since this fight makes all the sense in the world, and it sounds like other fans want to see it to for the most part… prolly means Strikeforce will have both guys fighting other people real soon. lol

and then there is the Diaz fight, so Mayhem will have a good fight for the title if he wins. I think if they do fight it may be part of the tournament that will be in place around their return.
