Tweet! Tweet! Win or lose, it sounds like Brock Lesnar has a rubber match with Frank Mir somewhere in his future. Lesnar avenged his submission loss to the Las Vegas grappler by smashing him to pieces at last year's UFC 100 event. Mir was one fight away from trying to take the best out of three until Shane Carwin put him to sleep at UFC 111 to usurp the Interim title and a shot at the division champ on July 3. Is Mir on a fool's errand? Or does the MMA fan base want a third and deciding fight?

Mir won the first fight and lost the second due to a head injury from a Forrest Griffin headbutt.
The huge lump and contusion on the right side of Mir’s head was received in training just days before the fight. I believe it affected Mir’s confidence and mental and physical sharpness. Heath Herring also was injured just prior to his fight by the referee. In my eyes Brock has not proved himself. A third fight with Mir will be awesome.

Fedor has 30 wins, and that is impressive by any standard, but the truth of it is that if you remove Nog, CC, and maybe Coleman, then you are left with a list of mostly 185 and 205 lb. fighters, and a list of heavyeight has beens and nobodies.

Fedor has defeated 6 former or future UFC HW champions, 1 Pride HW champion, 1 Strikeforce champion, 1 Pride OWGP champion, a 4-time K1 World GP champion, 1 olympic wrestler, 3 NCAA Division 1 wrestlers, 5 K1 competitors, and at least 3 BJJ black belts. An extremely legitimate list of competitors.
He probably even beat a few guys that were kick ass ping-pong players...

I am not discrediting his BJJ ( I don’t have the credentials to do so). I just don’t see his BJJ to be on the level of a Big Nog or a Maia. Their style of dictating and finishing a fight shows their high level application of BJJ. Mir’s victories appear to be a result of his opponent’s lack of a GG instead of a dominant BJJ style that he wills on his opponents. What do you think?

I think Mirs BJJ is some of the most Powerful
and he does have beautiful technique. I have watched his Gi/No Gi matches and he is gifted. Especialy for a HW. Of course its not on the level of Nog, Maia, Jacare. But imo its still very good. I would say in MMA noone at HW can finish a submission with incredible power and finesse simultaneously.

IMO He Has Gurgel/Rashad Complex
He got the taste of striking and success vs Nog. He tried his hand vs Brock. Wasnt outsruck so he tried to outsrike Kongo and it worked. He tried again vs Carwin. Didnt work. Look at the guard pull he did vs Big Tim. It was beautiful. Had he done that while tight in with Carwin he would have been much better suited. Had he not thrown a huge knee vs Brock and worked for a guard pull once again who knows. Brock in his guard is a bad idea for Brock. Brock in his half guard is bad foro Mir.
Against Vera he wasnt physically well enough to competete at the level the UFC wanted and got crushed.

Mir obviously has an unhealthy obsession with the big guy. Unhealthy because if he ever does get another rematch with Brock, he’s going to get his head caved in again.
