I'm looking forward to Chris Lytle vs Matt Serra more than the main event

Either way it goes the winner should get a top contender; I’m a fan of both guys but I think Lytle takes it this time. Matt it seems only fights once a year anymore and Lytle’s on another winning streak; tko’s and slick subs. Feel bad for the guy cause he’s done this several times, Chris always makes it to the upper echelon of the division ladder then gets handled by a wrestler or tko’d on a cut in the Alves fight. If his fights with Kos, Hughes or Alves had gone the other way Lytle could’ve easily fought for the title. Now he’s on the cusp again; a win over Serra and he gets another crack at a contender fight. Gotta love this type of fight cause either guy that comes out on top is gonna be the underdog going into the next one and I love having a scrappy dog like Lytle or Serra to root for.

I had been wondering where Matt Serra was

Does he really choose to fight only once a year now? I thought he had been injured or something. It’ll be good to see him back.

I don't think Matt's seriously going after the belt as long as GSP's holding it

so he’s content with fighting once every now and again.

Last time I remember him being injured was before the 2nd St. Pierre fight

I don’t think he’s been injured since just inactive. Maybe not all his fault. Swick turned down a fight with him that would’ve happened in April.

Serra has never fought often.

He has 12 fights in the last 10 years

I'm always thinking one step ahead. Like a carpenter . . . who makes stairs.

Bader TKO, Serra via something.
Lytle really needs to stop swiniging so wildly even people outside of the arena can see his hooks coming.

the beauty is in the attempt !

another great event imo..

its interesting how Bader trainned with Big Nog on TUF, but now hes gotta fight little Nog, does this give him the advantage he needs??

why, hes a no namer in todays mma world.

fact is most of people watching are newer than prides demise so hes all but unheard of. like dana said, i think hes just honoring his contracts from the purchase of pride.

not to mention he sucks in MMA.

but he's not good.

I never understood why he got the decision against Cro COp, Mirko landed clean head kicks and was blasting Hunt in that fight, Mark landed nothing significant and was just stalking.

the beauty is in the attempt !

Thats Part of The Game

Aggressiveness. And Controlling the Fight. You also forgot the Wand fight. And the fact he has fought some tough ass dudes and has had mixed results.

by AintNoSunshine on Jul 19, 2010 9:48 PM EDT up reply actions

all his big wins are shady, he beat a small wand who had 2 days notice and an injuired cro cop, he fucking sucks..

Back then he was above average I think him and Coleman would have been a good fight

But now days he`s below average. If you go look at Fedors, Barnetts, CC and NOG`s opponents besides eachother the rest were around Hunt`s class. The best HW Coleman ever beat was Frye, yet he was thought as a top five. But those days had a lot of Kimbo like fighters and was normal now days those guys won`t be fighting in the UFC were all the fighters have great training and preparation for each fight I don`t think a prime Frye would be in the top 20?

Silva had like 7 TD's in that fight, mount twice and he was in a lower weight class

He lost cause Hunt got 2 knock downs on him, big woop; pride judging at it’s worst.
