Despite his father passing away just yesterday, Jake Shields will remain on the UFC Fight Night 25: "Battle on the Bayou" event on Sept. 17, 2011, in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to MMA Fighting. He will headline the show against fellow welterweight contender Jake Ellenberger in a bout filled with divisional relevance.

Jake Shields' father passed away today (August 30th, 2011), just over two weeks away from Jake's scheduled bout against Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 25 on Sept. 17 in New Orleans. Jack Shields was his son's high school wrestling coach, and also served as his manager. No word on whether or not Shields will pull out of his bout against Ellenberger.

Coalition Fight Music (CFM) has reportedly come to an agreement with the Cesar Gracie team to provide custom walkout music for fighters from the gym, starting with Nick Diaz for his upcoming title shot against Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 137 on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other notable fighters out of the Gracie camp are Jake Shields, Gilbert Melendez and Nate Diaz. Will this quickly become a growing trend in MMA sponsorship is it this just a flash in the pan?
