"I just sent a text message to Scott Coker today cause I keep hearing about this tournament. I sent him a text message today and I said we want in that tournament. There will be a third Cung Le fight. Cung owes it to us. We didn’t have to take this last fight. There was nothing for Scott to gain, nothing. It was only a (losing situation). The fans will want to see it again because for one thing, neither fight was boring."
Mike Roberts, manager for Strikeforce middleweight Scott Smith, expects "Hands of Steel" to appear in both the rumored 185-pound tournament in October as well as a third fight with rival Cung Le. While one loss apiece normally warrants a third dance, Smith was getting handled in their first encounter before pulling off his patented miracle comeback. Do two lopsided fights with one hail mary warrant a deciding bout? Or did Le do enough in the second fight to negate a third?

Scott should have never given Cung a rematch
He got duped into doing the rematch under the premise that it he lost there would be a third fight. Scott should have gotten it in writing because Coker and Le aren’t going to put that fight together. And if he keeps complaining about it Coker will put him on the bench for an extended period.

That would be saying that the promotion doesn’t let fighters do whatever they feel like. Not so sure that kind of thinking goes over too well in Strikeforce.

Scott did a radio interview here in Sacramento before the rematch......
and said the only reason he was doing it was because Coker told him if he lost he would get a rematch.

will strikeforce make it far enough to crown a champ, then have a tourney for the #1 contender, then have the #1 contender face off with the champ?

If Werdum is shelved, Overeem will just fight in Japan in the meantime and duck the US again until the return. Then he will fight Werdum. There is no way Overeem will take a fight with Fedor, since obviously he knows that defending against Werdum will be much easier.

I don’t care about BJ either way. I do like him as a fighter but he aint one of my favorites.
But since there is all that history with GSP, who is my most hated fighter after Chael Sonnen, I might sometimes come across as a BJ nuthugger when those arguments happen, because I will side with whoever is against GSP usually.

Hendo was the last person I expected to get blanketed, and by Jake Shields of all people. That fight opened my eyes. Hendo’s best days are behind him.
