Looking forward to Hathaway most

If the main event was a bit more special then I would definitely be buying a ticket. Does Dana honestly think UK fans want Bisping at the top of the card???? None of my friends do.

agreed

this card would be great with an actual headliner. Instead, a guy coming off a loss vs. another guy that even England admits isn’t headliner worthy.

Totally agree

This sucks as a main event. People are fed up of seeing Bizzzzbing all the time, especially when he’s robbing us of a real headliner. I certainly wont be buying a ticket, I urge other fight fans to do the same, maybe Dana’ll get the message.

Hugely dissappointing news in Cyrill Diabate's opposition choice. No disrespect to Gus.

But Cyrill should get someone several tiers up. Phil Davis, Vera (wow) or even T.Silva.

It’s not an entirely crap card but i’d bet DavidWS is a little pissy right now.

Haha I'm not the only English fan getting pissy over this show mate

Cyrill-Gustaffson makes sense to me, both guys are great European strikers and will put on a technical and exciting war. Both guys will never be top contenders so it’ll be fun watching them face other top strikers.

This card is good for free TV but not worth buying an expensive ticket, travelling to the other side of the country and staying at a decent hotel for the weekend. They could have matched Bisping, Hardy and Hathaway with better opposition than Sexyama, Condit and Kim, I’d much rather have seen Bisping-Belfort, Hardy-Kampmann and Hathaway-Condit as those fights make more sense to me, or maybe even give Dan or John a fight with Jake Shields when he signs so that he can get another fight under his belt before taking on the elite (GSP/Kos/Alves/Fitch), plus that way I’d get to see him fight live. The only thing that I’m interested in with this card is the proposed UK fan expo, that would be worth a weekend trip to London.

Amen DWS...

I actually like the matchups. The more big names on the card, the better for us UK guys. Let’s face it, we’re not gonna be seeing Brock or GSP or Anderson anytime soon.
Not that that’s what matters, of course. But it would still be nice to see one of the best in the flesh.
I’m sick of Dana and the UFC just throwing Bisping at us like he’s the only guy we want to see. And I’m not just saying that ‘cause I live north of the border. I’ve seen several English guys say the same thing. Just ‘cause we’re British doesn’t mean we only want to see Bisping.
Give us a title fight ffs! Or at least a main event that doesn’t have Bisping in it!
I agree with your matchups though dude. Not only are they better fights, but they make more sense as far as the title picture is concerned.

I'm astounded that Kampmann's not on this card

He just beat Paulo Thiago easily and said that he’d be ready to fight for this show and that he wanted to fight Dan Hardy, so having 2 top WW contenders from Europe fighting on a European show makes perfect sense to me especially when one of them specifically requested this fight. Hardy-Kampmann could have been a worthy main event, certainly more so than Bisping-Sexyama.

I dont understand how you guys get Bisping over and over and over and then pass off a headliner against a good competitor but one coming off a loss.

Fucking Brutal. I like Akiyama and all but come on’. I think you guys should get another co-main event added at the very least. and i do mean very least.
Maybe you might get Jake Shields debut… Fitch will probably be ready in time for it after he nullifys thiago for 15 mins of Unanimous Fitch sweet victory.

or maybe Shields vs Kampmann would be more the fuck like it.

Now I'd pay to see that

No chance that I’m missing Jake’s UFC debut if it happens in the UK. As of now this is yet another lower level British card that should really be classified as a fight night, but if Jake-Fitch/Kampmann is added as a main event or a co-headliner then it’ll become a much more worthwhile show to me.

Remember the days of getting rampage vs hendo in the main event or even when chuck vs shogun was scheduled ( even if it was cancelled ) I have no interest in paying out to see this card and what the fuck happened to this title fight you have been promising Dana? Now we don’t even get the best uk match ups now. Wish Ross Pearson vs cole miller was on this card

by eagzy on Jul 15, 2010 4:19 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

I do remember those days pal

They were a loooooooooooong time ago. Dana’s full of sh!t, he’s been promising another title fight for two years, i gave up listening to his crap years ago. He basically cant be bothered giving us any decent fighters coz there’s too many blindly loyal fans who purchase tickets like sheep no matter what tripe he puts on our cards. Till people vote with their wallets, we’ll get given these lacklustre cage rage esque cards every single time.

If he really wanted to give us title fights he could easily and without affecting PPV sales. Simply starting our cards in the early hours of sunday morning will synch up with prime time in N.America.

How does a guy go from losing a non-main event to a last minute replacement TO FIGHTING IN THE DAMN MAIN EVENT!!!???

That being said, Bisping ain’t no main event either….. but here we go:
Bisping by Decision
Condit by Decision
Hathaway by Decision
Browne by Decision
Fisher by TKO

Well the weird thing about me is that I grew up fighting and one of my friends introduced me to MMA and I was like, 'Whoa, you mean I can beat up white dudes and not go to jail?"

Pyle has a chin worse than Mir.

Hathaway by TKO in the 1st.

DrewMoney$$$ is the man, I should have never challenged him to a sig bet. You know he started the Pick 'Em pool late and was forced to replace someone who quit and was far behind in last place his score doesn’t truly reflect how good his picks have been. He still has time to come back and is the obvious favorite for the next pool. By the way im picking the Detroit Lions to win the Superbowl the next 3 seasons in a row, and I would also pick Kimbo Slice to beat Fedor and Brock Lesnar any time. I love Kimbo Slice, he is MMA to me. Anyway DrewMoney$$$ is the man, don’t ever challenge him to a sig bet…

I should never have doubted the wisdom of David W-S or the talent of Junior Dos Santos…and screw Dana White
