'King Mo' Lawal vs 'Feijao' Cavalcante likely for Strikeforce: 'Houston' on Aug. 21
Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Muhammed Lawal (7-0) is likely to make his first title defense against Rafael Cavalcante (9-2) when the promotion heads south for its latest Showtime offering tentatively scheduled for Aug. 21 in Houston, Texas.
Five Ounces of Pain first reported the pending match-up earlier today.
"King Mo" laid claim to the throne with a lopsided unanimous decision win over the highly regarded Gegard Mousasi at the Strikeforce/CBS "Saturday Night Fights" event back on April 17 in Nashville.
It was his second straight win for the San Jose-based promotion and another example of the effectiveness that accompanies the new breed of dominant wrestlers.
Expect more of that come August against the hard-hitting Brazilian.
"Feijao" came into Strikeforce after winning three straight as an Elite XC fighter. Unfortunately Mike Pyle was not impressed with his resume and stopped the winded Cavalcante at "Lawler vs. Shields" in the second round via strikes.
After ratcheting up his pre-fight training camp and conditioning, the Brazilian came storming back against Aaron Rosa for the "Challengers" division before earning his title shot with a first round technical knockout over Antwain Britt last May.
Will it be enough to take "King Mo's" crown?
Strikeforce: "Houston" has not yet been attached to a venue and a main event is still in the works. Keep it locked in to MMAmania.com for future updates to this still developing fight card.

the brockness monster grinds up teenagers and puts them in his protein shakes..and uses razor blades to chop toddlers up into lines to snort like meth...the reason no one can find bigfoot is because the brockness monster found him years ago and now has him in numerous ziplock bags in the back of his freezer...

few things before I leave for the weekend
Overeem IS NOT fighting ricco Rodriguez, and as I’ve said before, it looks like dream is going under.
strikeforce (Fedor the draw) did terrible on TV, add to that the copromotional 50% m_1 gets and it was probably an event that lost a lot of money for strikeforce.
Dana white admits Toney/Couture is a freak show but wanted to show Toney he doesn’t belong and predicts couture wins easily.
Not only has Shields been released, NO ONE wants his belt either!
wasnt there just an article on here the other day that said it had good ratings?

Strikeforce returned to its home base of San Jose in impressive fashion, garnering a peak household rating of 2.1 during the Showtime telecast from the HP Pavilion, according to an industry source. That mark puts it just behind Strikeforce: “Miami” and “Carano vs Cyborg” as the third highest rated fight card ever for the cable television network.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm
I don’t know who to pick here. I’m leaning toward Mo but Calvacante is a beast. Losing to Mike Kyle 2 fights ago doesn’t leave me with a lot of confidence in him though.. Anyone can get caught, but Mo’s wrestling has been unstoppable.. Who to pick, who to pick…. I’ll have to come back to this one.
this does leave the door open for Hendo vs Mousasi though.. Coker, make it happen.
"The other shape,
If shape it might be call'd, that shape had none,
Distinguishable in member, joint, or limb;
Or substance might be call'd that shadow seem'd;
For each seem'd either; black it stood as night,
Fierce as ten furies, terrible as Hell,
And shook a dreadful dart; what seem'd his head
The likeness of a kingly crown had on.
Satan was now at hand; and from his seat
The monster, moving onward, came as fast
With horrid strides; Hell trembled as he strode."

I thought Gegard was fighting Jake O'Brien. Which is a stupid fight.

And Feijao is a beast. I really hope he can shut Mo up.
The Kyle fight had to be a simple case of Feijao just taking him too lightly, I wouldnt pick Kyle if they rematched.

I like Mo, but know very little about Cavalcante. Anyone that can give a rundown of his skills?
Team Pioli/Haley. Decade of the Chiefs.
Go Rafael Cavalcante!
Please beat Mo, the typical Boring wrestler!
You've only watched one King Mo fight.
There’s absolutely no question about it.
Jesse - Feijao lost to Mike Kyle not Mike Pyle, slight difference.
And this is a good fight. I think the difference will be King Mo’s wrestling which will wear down Feijao for a 3rd or 4th round TKO. Hopefully Feijao will come in well conditioned for this fight.

Lawal vs. Mousasi..
The only fight I’ve ever seen where the guy who was being boring and laying on top for 25 mins got his ass kicked more than the guy who was on bottom.

Close, but I gotta go with Bas vs Randleman
Bas kicked his ass from the bottom. Won the decision and the HW title.

You must defeat me to stand a chance.

Neither Rashad nor Mo act like Rampage.
King Mo used to come in wearing a gold robe during his college days. He is who he is. The only similarity is that they’re black…
U don't know the guy and you pass judgment. He is a nice guy in reality .I saw him stand and signs kids t-shirts for hours even though he was free to go.
What he does to hype him self is not who he is.
For both you guys ^
They were inspired by Rampage, he was their idol. Rampage was doing MMA and K1 when these boys were dry humping their roommates at college.
Now they’re buddies, they gang up on him because of the friction between Rampage and Rashad. Mo aint proved anything yet, but he thinks he can talk Rampage down and criticise him as a fighter? Then have the gall to act like him.
And for the record, i’ve never seen Rampage walking around in a gold focking robe and i dont see Mo doing that now either!

I'm going to try make this event.
Hopefully they set up a good main event.

Mo is the next thing
King mo taught a 5 hour seminar at the paradise warrior retreat center.
I had the pleasure of being there and trained with him. What a nice guy extremely intelligent and down to earth. He has the right attitude and talent to stay up there for a while.
Next seminar of PWR Vegas july 24-25
