King Mo: Frank Mir needs to get off that (light heavyweight) crack pipe

Mir-crack_medium

Props: TapouT Radio (via Middle Easy)

Quoteworthy:

"He better get off that crack pipe. The main thing is Frank Mir at 205 would be strong, his skill-set would be enough. Overall strength and power would be down. I would just focus on the cardio. He should lose a little bit of weight as a heavyweight and be more mobile and agile heavyweight."

Muhammed Lawal has some career advice for former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir, who recently pondered what life would be like as a light heavyweight. "King Mo" knows a thing or two about the 205-pound division, as he currently rules the roost over in Strikeforce. Anyone think Mir has a future at light heavyweight? Or should he follow Lawal's advice and become a more quicker, agile heavyweight?

I hate to say it, but I think Mo might be right. I think he hurt himself when he bulked up like that. It worked for the Congo fight but it was a quick fight and we really don’t know how is cardio is when he is that big? He looked wore out against Carwin, about like what Penn looked like against Edger. Wasn’t all there it seemed like.

Great photoshop...Mir going to LHW? They tried to make me go to HW but I said 'no, no, no'.

i agree, that is some pretty fantastic photoshop

never have any regrets, because at the time, thats all you wanted to do

the carwin fight was not a quick fight?

The worst thing he can do is try to move down. He is a guy who has never made a weight cut, and is not known as a workout warrior. He will come out flat at 205

Irving!

Frank Mir at LHW, Is like James Irvin at MW, but worse. I love Mir always will, but focus at Heavyweight. At LHW he’ll be screwed faster than Carwin did.

Banky: Stop the movie? What are you, crazy?
Jay: All these assholes on the internet are calling us names because of this stupid fucking movie.
Banky: That's what the internet is for. Slandering others anonymously. Stopping the flick isn't gonna stop that.
Jay: This isn't fair. We came to Hollywood, I fell in love. Fuckin', we got shot at, we stole a monkey, and I got punched in the motherfucking nuts by a guy named Cock-Knocker.

there are 4 or 5 guys he cant hang with because he is not as genetically gifted as they are… there is no shame in being the 6th or 7th best HW. And Carwin is a scary dude. Mir should keep the size on and LEARN how to use it effectively.

Catchweight

Here’s a thought…Mir takes a few months to drop the 10-20 lbs. It shouldn’t be hard since most of that weight he put on was do to steroids. Not that I would know;) but anyone who does roids knows once u get off u r bound to lose some of the size u put on during your cycle. So mow he is around the 240s. Then by then randy will beat Toney. Then he can sign up to fight Randy at a catchweigt of like 215 or 220. He can lose the rest by training and eating right during a 3 month training camp. It would be a fight most would want to see and depending on how Mir does decide if he wants to drop to 205. If not do what king mo said and be a mote agile in shape hw.

Learn to spell first than you'll be taken super seriall! lol

Sure buddy like u know for sure that Mir was on the roids. I guess the Brockness monster was on it too…oh wait.

He was fighting almost every 4 to 6 months while bulking up...

That would have left him with very little time to do any real cycles and clear a drug test. The shit roids (some of the testoterones, clenbuterol, oral stanozole) you may get away with a few weeks. The mid level stuff (testosterone-mix <sustanon & Omnadren> trenbolone, boldenone undecyclate) take 3 to 5 months to clear your system. When you get into real performance enhancers like nandroloneor nandrolone decanoate (DECCA) you are looking at a year to 18 months. It would be so hard to do a few real cycles and still pass a drug test.

2 more fights...

He drops 2 straight he’s done in the UFC I think. He’s at a shitty situation where his size is not an asset. The Lesnar’s, Carwins, Dos Santos, and Cain’s are too big for the dude, and they’re young and going nowhere for awhile!

Dos Santos is smaller than Mir, but I still think he would KO Mir. He’s a solid gatekeeper and has a good chance against anyone else in the HW division other than the four you named, might even have solid chance against Cain.

by Pantherhare on Jun 8, 2010 7:45 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, I see where you're coming from...

But I think Mir is a big enough name and will always be hunting for the title so if he stays it might be “Mir fights and wins, moves up around top 4, Mir gets knocked out falls back down.” Copy and Paste repeatedly. lol Cains a Badass!

2 more fights u say

So why not take a catch weight fight with someone like Randy. Eder, Fuck You! I could give a shit about my spelling or typing. Im in a hurry cause it was my lunch break and since when does anyone give a shit about spelling on a blog site? Never said a thing about Brock not doing roids, we all know he used to if not still does. As far as Mir, I just used my brain and common fucking sense to know that u do not put on that much size and mass at his age that fast.

gatekeeper, fedor wud be a gatekeeper in UFC, mir is jsut fine i mean he killed the great big nog and u guys love his cock, so??

And King Mo is on the money. Frank Mir at LHW is downright ludicrous.

Totally agree with King Mo. Frank should probably just retire.

He could hit 205

He’s already shown he can’t hang anymore at heavyweight. I don’t think he would have said it if he couldn’t do it. I say: Go for it Mir.

by Zosoko on Jun 8, 2010 5:28 PM EDT reply actions

So lemme get this straight

this douche nozzle made so much noise about gaining muscle mass and how he wasn’t gonna get rag dolled anymore, but now he thinks he could do better at 205? Frank, STFU, please. You’re great against the Tim Sylvias of the world but you are no longer an elite HW w/ the new breed that’s come along. Humility, you should try it.

I'm your huckleberry.

Mir would be

way too weak after the cut. He would probably have to take a long time off to do it right, but then ring rust would be a major factor too.

keep losing that weight mir!

And if you lose a fight or two with that weight? Try and avenge what Lawal said about you at 205 in SF for the title!

Lawal would kill him most likely, but I’m down to watch it! Go Mo! Go Mir!

"a wanna be rampage" is the worst description of lawal i've ever heard

There isn’t a 1% chance that Rampage beats Lawal in my mind. How is Lawal’s wrestling a wannabe version of Page’s? Did you see Shads wrestling vs Page’s? Everyone who was silly enough to pick Page tried saying “Oh, but he has great wrestling skills he just doesn’t need em, he will use em to stuff Shad and KO him”. Riiiiight. He had wrestling skills in High School. Don’t use em, ya lose em. Lawal/Page would look the same as Shad/Page. Drag that sh*tty actor all around the cage and not let him get started.

Lawal would easily take care of Rampage.

Easily.

Come on Worb...

Out of 12 TD attempts, Rashad got 3… Most of the time in the fight was spent pressing Page against the cage and kneeing him in the thigh.. It’s not like he got completely outclassed and dominated.

frank wud ave beaten kongo at 245 man. he didnt win that fight becaoz he was bigger or stronger becoz the way that fight ended is jus typical mir fashion. i dont think the weight was the factor goin in2 the kongo fight. but in franks mind he thort he won the kongo fight becoz of all dat bulk he had put on. i meen no matter how big frank gets hes not goin 2 be able 2 handle guys like lesnar or carwin becoz theyve bin built the way they are for years an years. both lesnar and carwin have been building their strengths since they were like 16 years old. mir isnt gonna catch up to that man. even if he starts lifting more than them he wont be able 2 out wrestle an muscle those guys in the cage. frank shud basically do wat he did b4 an get 2 a 245 weight wich he was most comfortable at and work on his wrestling. even if he keeps this size, he jus needs to sharpen his wrestling up dats all. mir can knock u out, submit u but he cant wrestle you. so frank work on your wrestling and stay at heavyweight.

Dear Mo,

Dear Mo,

STFU. You don’t get a say in anything MMA related yet. You are the most “paperest” paper champion in the history of the sport.

You are only champ because you kept putting your opponent on the ground…where he proceeded to double up on strikes against you. That’s right, you only won because you dictated where the fight took place…too bad you were just dictating where you got your ass kicked. BTW, if shooting on a guy (and them doing nothing with it) is dictating the fight, then wouldn’t his standing up also be dictating the fight? Should Gegard have gotten the same credit for standing up that you did for laying down? Considering he stood up 8 times to your 9 takedowns (not to mention several failed takedown attempts), you only dictated the fight 1 more time than he did. Considering that he outstruck you almost two to one and you only dictated the fight one more time then he did…I will go ahead and say you are the worst champ in all of MMA.
