He has never been so much as rocked in his entire career, and that includes fights in NJ where he got his nose broken by a head but, his cheek broken (leaving a visible dent) by a strike and a fight where his jaw was dislocated by a knee. Not knocking him out does not mean Bisping has no power.

As for the Maia thing, I may have raised this here, it may have been BE, but I addressed the issue of Maia outstriking Miller in comments before the fight. Of the three rounds, Maia won the striking in the 2nd. Dan won the first round’s striking, by enough that two judges gave him the round despite being taken down a few times. The third round Maia won entirely based on being on top for the final 3+ minutes, which only occured after Miller dropped him with a punch, leading to him trying to land a diving punch to the downed Maia, who reversed and got the takedown. All that also discounts Dan’s shattered thumb, and the fact that he was striking while constantly looking out for a takedown, which greatly decreases effectiveness. If the two were to have a kickboxing match, I would be very confident in backing Miller.

Coincidentally enough, the pattern for the rounds was the same in both fights. The first round was close, with Dan taking it on some cards. The 2nd was Maia/Bisping’s most dominant striking round. The 3rd was a clear, albeit less dominant in terms of striking, win for Maia/Bisping. So, compare them by round: in the first, Miller beat Maia striking, while it was close enough but Bisping still took 2 of 3 cards. Edge Bisping. The 2nd, Bisping won much more clearly than Maia did. Edge Bisping. The third, Bisping won despite ground work, Maia won because groundwork after losing the striking. Edge Bisping. All that without the huge benefit of Dan fearing the TD that Maia had or having a broken power hand. There is no way Bisping did “the same thing or slightly better” on the feet than Maia against Miller.
