I'm not into women's mma at all

but this was a good fight that could have been stopped a million times. I was almost expecting Finnie to pull of some sort of submission as the fight went on.

Can we be done with chick fighting already?

Seriously, enough already. I don’t need to see it, it’s not competitive and nobody gives a shit about it unless one or both of the girls fighting are hot. Do you think Jan Finney (with an 8-7 record) got this fight on merit? Did Scott Coker and Ken Hershman sit down, have a brainstorming session and pick Finney because they thought she was a worthy opponent or because they thought she earned it? Fuck no, “cuddles” got the fight because she’s a good looking piece of ass.

I’m all for hot chicks in MMA……….. CARRYING THE RING CARDS IN BETWEEN ROUNDS.

They can do it all they want.....

Just don’t force me, the consumer to pay for it by putting it on the main card.

by SHORT_BUS on Jun 29, 2010 10:36 AM EDT up reply actions

they dont force you to buy the card

but cyborg is prolly the most badass women on planet earth, and lots of ppl still lik seeing her dish out beatings. but yeah womens sports wont ever be as big as mens in mma. if there were 2 womens fights on a main card that would suck

I haven't heard Finnie complain

and everytime she got dropped, she grabbed a leg and defended. I’m the first to say it was a late stoppage and I rarely believe there is a such thing as stopping a fight too soon. I for one had no issues with that fight

by kevjack115 on Jun 28, 2010 2:52 PM EDT up reply actions

she grabbed a leg, but she was not defending intelligently...

She just wrapped onto an ankle and held on for dear life. It was clearly evident that she was far outmatched. A stoppage would have been justified numerous times throughout the fight.

I agree a stoppage woulda been fine

but also had no problem with it not being stopped

by kevjack115 on Jun 28, 2010 3:02 PM EDT up reply actions

being outmatched is not a reason for stoppage.

Cyborg wasn’t landing clean on her so let it go i say.

I think this fight shouldve been stopped

at least by the 1st min in the 2rnd… this type of punishment is how boxers get “punch drunk” brain damage…no need for that in MMA… I like this new ref, she controls the fight well for the most part, but she needs to know when enough is enough.

by THORAZINE on Jun 28, 2010 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions

theres womens mma

And then there is cyborg…I’d love to see the difference in testosterone levels between these two…lol….it just doesn’t even seem fair…cyborg is tuckin an taping, dammit…she has a weener, and the scam has gone on long enough

She’d get killed by someone her own size. She pulled Gina Carano into mount for christ sake.

A roided up cyborg vs a clean average 145er….I’d say more competetive than most would think

Ouch, take that featherweight division.

by Jared1984 on Jun 28, 2010 3:34 PM EDT up reply actions

who knows really

I’m no doctor but aren’t the differences in physical attributes between male n female pretty much due to testosterone/estrogen levels? If she spikes hers high enough for a long enough period…she is basically a dude…minus junk

from what I understand yes...

but either way I know there is no way in hell she could take on any legitimate competition, but would love to see her matched up with some low-end 145er (loser must get sex change haha)

by fentsky on Jun 28, 2010 5:51 PM EDT up reply actions

This fight should of never been sanctioned. Seriously who thought it was a good idea to throw this 8-7 tomato can in with that crazed he/she.

well finney was on a 4 fight winning streak with a big win to get to

the finals of CFC tournament. The winner of this tourney was suppose to get a shot at Sarah Kaufman’s 135 belt but instead Coker decided pluck her from the tourney before her final fight and make her fight cyborg at 145.

i didn't realize that

the fact that she was a 135er makes me think better of her performance.

by cancer on Jun 28, 2010 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions

btw, i know nothing about women's mma

what’s the highest weight class? does cyborg have to cut?

by cancer on Jun 28, 2010 8:22 PM EDT up reply actions

145 is generally the highest definitive weight class but back in the day

there were bigger broads fighting at 170-190. It’s also like the men’s HW use to be a couple of years back the thinnest division. Cyborg definitely cuts from like 156-158 range (just like urijah for comparison).

thanks

yeah, i couldn’t imagine too many people would want to see a 265lb women’s division…

Amazing fight...

I was in the crowd and everyone was kind of looking through their fingers as this one went on.

A couple of clean shots, caused a collective , “OH!” fromt he crowd.

“Cuddles” is one tough chica.

Those were quality right hands from Finney

Just didn’t work against Cyborg.

Cyborg should be taking on Strikeforce Light heavy weight roster. Ibet she wud kick Aokis ass.

If nothing else, the one thing we're finding out with Cris Cyborg

is that women can take a hell of a lot of punishment. That seems to be the same thing said about all her opponents…“she had a lot of heart”. lol She’s making them famous.

Meh. Its examples like this that give anti-MMA people alot of ammunition. Its was brutal and not a sporting event, IMO.

Why does a female MMA bout need a female referee??

I found that a bit funny, I don’t think refereeing is very gender-specific

by SnoopSteele on Jun 28, 2010 4:02 PM EDT reply actions

i dont blame the ref for not stopping it. finally got to watch it on yout-tube at work today.

i think finney deserves credit for having the heart to keep coming back.
