So Fedor loss when no one expected it. I thought he would lose, just not to werdum. While it is a huge upset,it's not shocking when a guy who is actually world class at a something(bjj) wins via a triangle. Fedor got tapped and the afterblast of it is going to be very interesting.
Let's start with M1. Leverage gone. Without an undefeated Fedor they are exactly what we all thought thet were in the first place. Fedor's management, not an actual promotion. It will be interesting to see if they try to stand on their co promotion demands.
Then there is strikeforce. They just can't catch a break. To have Fedor lose to a UFC cast-off hurts. If Fedor lost to Overeem they could promote him as the young lion who took the crown. No one is buying werdum as the best HW in the world.
If you are the UFC,do you even want Fedor anymore, given that he's still going to come with a hefty pricetag. If Brock or Carwin beat him at this point all you'll hear is Fedor was declining, they didn't beat the real Fedor. I don't know if it's worth it to sign him as a HW. Now as a LHW,we'll talk about that.
Finally, what does Fedor do? Does he rematch Werdum? Personally I don't want to waste any of Fedor's remaining fights on that one. But if the man wants revenge, I can't argue with it. He deserves it. He already stated he will continue fighting so there will be no retirement. But should he? Or does he finally make the jump to the UFC? If you have read any of my older posts, I am all for Fedor dropping to 205 and fighting in the UFC. Especially with this loss,it would instantly put a jolt into his career and give the UFC a reason to put a massive contract offer on the table.I'm not a Fedor hater or lover but this shite is going to get good. What do you guys think?
