I don't understand
I understand that Fedor is great fighter but every one seems to forget that he has been exposed and in danger of losing his last few fights.He isn’t the machine he once was or were told to believe he is.I personally think he should drop weight and fight at 205 or 185 and show how dominate he really can be.He has always fight outside of his true weight class..and that make what he does impressive in itself.but he is far from the greatest heavyweight ever

Randy even left the UFC to try to fight Fedor, that was the fight he wanted. That is how negotiation with Fedor and the UFC started in the first place. The fight never happened, never even came close when it could have been a huge payday for M1 and it never even came close to happening. Randy wanted it but they certainly did not.
Randy left the UFC because he wanted the fight.. Fedor's camp wanted the fight too. Randy lost his legal battle with the UFC, which prevented the fight from happening.

Has never gone out of their way to find competition for Fedor. If Fedor wanted the fight so bad he could of signed after Pride with the UFC, or the many other times that a deal was on the table, and please do not say anything about co-promoting. Copromoting for individual fighters is disrespectfull to all the other fighters, and as was proven this past weekend, foolish business for MMA organizations.
Behind the curtain of copromotion Fedor has been able to hide since Pride fighting MWs, LHWs, side show acts, never gonna be fighters or has beens. Yes he was ducking Couture, Liddell and everyone else of talent that really wanted to fight him.
Answer this quesiton, name the last ranked fighter that made it public that they wanted to fight Fedor that actual fought him. Overeem has been chomping at the bit, but M1 made sure Fedor’s contract with SF was being renegotiated until SF signed Overeem and Rogers for the title. Ducking a title shot. He could of several times signed with the UFC, but did not because M1 stood in the way passing up the opportunity to fight many ranked fighters that had made it public knowledge they wanted to fight Fedor(Liddell, Randy, Mir, etc).
So yes I am saying that Fedor did not sign with the UFC to avoid not just Randy but several others and of late he didnt sign because he knows any of the top guys in the UFC would manhandle him like an 18 year old science geek at Rikers Island. His career after Pride has been built off of avoiding good competition just like his first third of his career was built off of fighting guys that ended up only fighting once or twice, were in smaller weight classes, or had never fought before.

Stop taking the blue pill that makes you believe that Fedor is this unbelievable guy and realize that he is just a really good fighter that has made himself look better by avoiding any real competition and squeeking by when he has in the past.

First, I've never said Fedor is unbeatable. I've said that any of the UFC's NEW top 4 would have a chance against him. I'm not naive enough to believe that Fedor was ducking a 205 fighter that got run out of PRIDE by Rampage though.
One thing about your argument that makes no sense. AA and Timmay made up a big part of the top end of the UFC when PRIDE went bust. He fought both guys. He signed on to fight Barnett when Barnett was ranked #2, and would have to be favored against everyone(except Fedor). That throws your “ducks all real competition” shit out the window. Sorry, but whether you want to admit it or not, you’re making tons of assumptions, and they fly in the face of history and logic. You’re twisting the facts(M-1 demanding co-promotion) and turning them into something they’re not(Fedor ducking Randy, Liddell). Guess we can agree to disagree, but I’m not buying what you’re selling because all the facts say otherwise, and I’m not going to make a leap of faith that makes no sense.

The whole reason he chose SF over the UFC was that Overeem had not been defending the title and the rest of the HW were weak. All the sudden Overeem wants Fedor and he ducks him.

Werdum was very classy and is a great guy for the sport. I’m glad he was the one finally able to topple Fedor since it had to be someone sooner or later. I liked how he praised Fedor and wanted a rematch while kind of brushing the thought of Overeem aside. He probably hurt Reem’s feelings.

The overjoyment
comes from Fedor losing to someone who was bounced from the UFC after a loss to JSD. After this I’m not sure Fedor could hold his own as well as ppl believe he could in the upper echelon of HWs that the UFC holds today. The worst thing is, we’ll probably never find out for sure. But, I never thought Fedor would ever find a fighter outside of the UFC to beat him.

if you count careful fight selection and media hype for a guy who hasn’t fought real comp since the pride days…then yea your right he is the king. Fedor is a good fighter but he will never be tested fighting guys who didn’t cut it in the ufc or who careers for heading south. He would be much better fighting at 205 and even then he wouldn’t be tested with anybody that Strikeforce has.

Nobody wants to admit that the level of competition between the UFC and Strikeforce really is night and day.Could it be because of marketing or is it the fighters..Every person that Strikeforce has tried to hang there hats on has not lived up to expectations..Kimbo,Gina Carano,and Especially Fedor.Simply for the reason he could care less about the Strikeforce brand.There are more than a few good fighters in Strikeforce,Ask yourself the question though can any of Strikeforce’s top guys give any of UfC’s top guys a challenge.Hate on Dana White all you want but the brand he helped build is considered to be the best for a number of reasons..Not just the quality of fighters

Silva is great but i think that GSP is the p4p best. I think that he has fought much tougher fighters. The UFC’s middle weight class is the weakest and is in need of new fighters. Wish Dana would make a catch weight between Silva ans GSP, but don’t think that it would ever happen. Silva saying that he would move up to heavyweight would be suicide for his career.
In defense of Dana here...
He has every reason to be happy and smiling from a business stand point. He has wanted Fedor in the UFC for sometime now. This dramatically decreases his stock and leverage with co-promoting with the UFC. M1 will have a much harder time selling the purpose of co-promoting now that he lost to Werdum. AM I saying Fedor is anyless of a man or a fighter, no not at all. But M1 no longer has the undefeated king of mma, thing to push co-promotion. Also Dana can spin this, like someone else said in another post, OJR I believe, into Werdum wasn’t even good enough for the UFC-he got cut-and he beat the “KING” of MMA-Fedor-with realtive ease.

This sets up two killer main events Werdum vs Overeem with Fedor getting the winner down the road. The future just got brighter for Strikeforce after last night. It just proves Dana is obsessed with Fedor. He wasn’t KO’d he simply made a mistake. This also proves that Werdum doesn’t have a glass jaw.
It proves none of that and it doesn't help strikeforce at all.

everyone says SF is the loser, before they couldnt provide competition, now fedor loses so SF loses? cmon now, Werdum was cut EARLY by the ufc, as usual for the ufc to let go of talent too early…hold onto the old guys….well, werdum beat fedor under the SF banner…not the ufc. that will ALWAYS be a highlight for SF…but SF isnt trying to be the UFC…I wish people would just ENJOY the quality MMA from SF.

Dana White can smile all he wants, but you know what. I think STRIKEFORCE is far better and more entertaining that the UFC, minus their lame commentators. But still,
Strikeforce costs less to buy (if you dont have showtime) and it’s worth every penny, unlike what the UFC has been lately.
