UFC medical suspensions and injuries for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 11 Finale

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today issued its list of medical suspensions for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 11 Finale which took place on Saturday, June 19, from the Palms Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
With several of the bouts ending early (and violently), there were quite a few fighters who were flagged follow up visits with their doctors.
Chief among them is Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine — who was sliced and diced en route to a majority decision loss to Matt "The Hammer" Hamill. Joining him on the injured reserves are fellow TUF guys Brad Tavares, Seth Baczynski and James McSweeney, who all suffered head lacerations in their respective bouts.
TUF 11 finalist, Kris "Savage" McCray, is also benched for a left eyebrow laceration suffered in his submission loss to the unscathed Court "Crusher" McGee.
But that's not all.
Here is the complete list of TUF 11 Finale injuries and their medical instructions:
Kris McCray: Suspended until Aug.. 3, no contact until July 19 (left-eyebrow laceration).
Matt Hamill: Suspended until Aug. 3, no contact until July 19 (right-eyelid laceration).
Keith Jardine: Suspended until Sept. 18, no contact until Aug. 3 (right-supraorbital and left-infraorbital lacerations and second-digit wound on left hand).
Aaron Simpson: Suspended until Aug. 3, no contact until July 19 (precautionary reasons).
Dennis Siver: Suspended until Aug. 8, no contact until July 18 (left-eyebrow laceration).
Spencer Fisher: Suspended until July 19, no contact until July 10 (precautionary reasons).
Jamie Yager: Suspended until Aug. 3, no contact until July 19 (precautionary reasons). Additional suspension until Dec. 16 (hand injuries) unless cleared by a doctor (X-Rays).
Brad Tavares: Suspended until Sept. 18, no contact until Aug. 3 (head laceration).
Seth Baczynski: Suspended until July 19, no contact until July 10 (forehead laceration).
Josh Bryant: Suspended until Aug. 3, no contact until July 19 (precautionary reasons).
Chris Camozzi: Suspended until Dec. 16 (possible left-shoulder injury) unless cleared by an orthopedic doctor (MRI).
James Hammortree: Suspended until July 19, no contact until July 10 (precautionary reasons). Additional suspension until Dec. 16 (possible right-foot injury) unless cleared by a doctor (X-Rays).
James McSweeney: Suspended until Sept. 18, no contact until Aug. 3 (scalp laceration).
Just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.

Shouldn't Hammill be suspended for his staph infection
Why was he allowed to fight? It was a pretty good fight and I like Hammil but the Nevada State Athletic Commission should not have cleared him to fight. If I was Jardine I would be pissed, especially having an open wound for most of the fight.
It Was A Closed Wound But Yes Still Staph and Still Dangerous

As long as it's being treated
there is a seriously reduced threat of spreading it. I had staph twice, but was able to treat it quick.

sure its treatable and hammills staph infection was near its end
but there is still a risk factor there, and i for one would not have wanted anything to do with fighting someone that i knew was currently a host for staphylococcus aureus (b/c the name sounds cool)
never have any regrets, because at the time, thats all you wanted to do
I'm With You
I wouldn’t have wanted ot be in there with him or that, but at the same time the doctor in charge said it was fine and we all know the UFC wouldn’t have him in there if they thought there was going to be a problem so I’m fine with it.
Give a man to fish and feed him for a day. Kick his stupid ass and maybe he will leave you alone.
And we all know Dana would rather Keith got staph, than lose the best fight on the card.

thats what i was thinking
i know a doctor said it was alright, but the fight was in vegas and i am pretty sure dwhite and the fertitas have enough pull to make sure their main event didnt get the shine fights treatment
never have any regrets, because at the time, thats all you wanted to do
ill say it looks cool
I’d doubt itd sound cool if I tried to pronounce it

Hamill was cleared.
The staph infection is pretty much gone, apparently. It was just what’s left over. I thought Hamill claimed to break his hand?
Basicaly, almost everyone who fought is suspended for a while, lol
