WEC 49 bonuses and awards for 'Varner vs Shalorus' on Versus

WEC 49: "Varner vs. Shalorus" from the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, is officially in the books, which means that it’s time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.

To the tune of $10,000 each -- a far cry from the 65k doled out after last month's WEC 48 pay-per-view broadcast.

The WEC dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the promotion's first-ever pay-per-view card.

No surprises here.

In addition to their base salaries, the WEC awarded featherweight competitors Mark Hominick and Yves Jabouin "Fight of the Night" for their thrilling, back-and-forth war of attrition.

Also representing the 145-pound weight class was up-and-coming featherweight phenom Josh Grispi. His "Submission of the Night" was no "Fluke" against L.C. Davis, as the 14-1 prospect notched his fourth straight win under the WEC banner.

Finally, former WEC bantamweight champion Eddie Wineland made some noise in his respective weight class with a "Knockout of the Night" bonus over Will Campuzano, making good on his promise to get back into the 135-pound title hunt..

Again, each fighter received $10,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
